A/n: I know these are short chapters and everything is moving at a slow pace but I just want everything to develop. Plus I put out new chapters at least every other day.
Yuki wasn't really sure why she asked Severus to return the next day. She could tell he was someone who did not enjoy company, but for some
reason she found his comforting. And it certainly wasn't like she wanted to continue with the legimency. She hated it, the way it made her
feel, the images. While she could see somethings from Severus' mind, once in a while the clouds would lift and she could see what he saw in her
mind. Yuki didn't recognize any of it, but she could recognize the feeling associated. In most all of them the dominating feeling was fear, and
Yuki was far to used to that emotion. She was thinking that maybe things were slowly coming back to her. Remus had told her that through the
sessions she might start to remember what she sees. But if what she was seeing was real, she wasn't so sure she wanted to remember.
Things had been going very well at number twelve. Yuki hadn't been there very long but she had grown to like it. Everyone was friendly to
her and the whole atmosphere had a family vibe: Molly the loving and caring mother; Sirius the fun and crazy older brother and Remus the
level-headed and protective brother. Yuki liked that they looked out for her, feeling for once like maybe she belonged. But she knew she
didn't. This was not her place and this was not her family, she would have to find out where she came from and free these people from the burden
of her presence.
So Yuki waited all day for the arrival of Severus, alone in her room, reading a book Hermione had lent her. 'Witches of Ancient Rome' was a
fascinating book, though it was hard to understand as Yuki knew nothing of magic, but once in a while she would ask Hermione about something and
she would go into a long discussion about it. Yuki stopped asking Hermione and started to confide in Remus for information. He appeared to know
everything and didn't spout off for an hour on the answer. Yuki liked Remus, he seemed quiet--but that was not what she liked about him--and he
was very considerate of everyone around him. From the stories told by Ron or Sirius, Severus was not a very well liked person, but Remus, who had
seen the same Severus as everyone else, tried to find the good in him. Remus would try and come everyday to visit his old friend Sirius and Yuki
liked when he was there. Sometimes he would just be real quiet, reading a book, but just having his presence around somehow made Yuki feel safe.
As she was getting to the chapter in the book about the biggest witch hunt ever, there was a knock on the door. Yuki set her book on the
table and answered the knock. Ginny was standing there, looking completely awkward.
"Hello Ginny," Yuki smiled and said, "Why don't you come in."
She held the door open and waited for Ginny to walk in. When She strode past her, Yuki closed the door and went to sit in the chair at her
desk. Ginny was looking down and fiddling with her hands and Yuki could tell something was wrong.
"Is everything alright Ginny?"
Ginny pushed a stray lock of hair behind her ear only to have it fall back down. "Harry, Ron and Hermione are talking and they won't let me
listen," she said.
"oh"
"They always do that. Like I'm not old enough or something. Ron kicks me out and no one sticks up for me. I hate it," she shouted.
"Ginny I'm sorry," Yuki tried to comfort her, "Maybe it's just something they don't think you're ready to hear."
"What could I possibly not be ready to hear? I'm only a year younger then them,"
"I don't know," Yuki said, not really knowing what she could say to Ginny.
"Doesn't matter, I don't need to hear it. I'll just stay here with you."
"Oh well, I'm waiting for Severus but you can stay until he comes," Yuki told her.
"How are the sessions going?" Ginny asked. "Are you remembering anything?"
"No, not really, I mostly see the things in Severus' mind, once in a while I can see the things he finds in my own memories."
An excited grin spread across Ginny's face as she said, "You can see Snape memories? What are they?"
"I don't think I should tell you," Yuki told Ginny.
"Why not? I won't tell anyone."
"Because it is not my place to tell."
The smile vanished from Ginny face and she stood up from her seat on the edge of Yuki's bed. "You just don't think I can handle it either.
Just like them. That's fine, no one has to tell me anything," Ginny huffed and walked over to the door, throwing it open.
"Ginny thats not what I mean-" but Yuki stopped when she saw Severus on the other side of the door. He looked down, just glaring at Ginny,
and she glared right back and then pushed her way past him, storming off down the hall.
"Problem?" Severus said from the doorway.
"No she's just feeling, a little left out. Come in," Yuki said as she held the door.
"hm," Severus said as he took his seat.
Yuki sat across from him and said, "So do you think I'll start remembering things soon?"
"I don't know. Has anything that you've seen so far felt familiar?"
"No, but-" Yuki hesitated telling him.
"What?" Severus pressed.
"It's the feeling, I feel it when I see the images of my thoughts. It's so strong, the feeling of fear," Yuki said in a hush, "I feel it
when I see your thoughts too."
Severus wanted to look away from Yuki but found he couldn't, he learned to never look away from those who questioned him. "Perhaps we should
get started," he said, avoiding any further talk of what he was 'feeling'.
Yuki nodded her head, knowing it was something Severus did not want to talk about. She looked into his deep onyx eyes and waited for him to
be in her mind.
Severus had just begun his entry into Yuki's mind when a searing pain coursed over his arm. He gripped his wrist and closed his eyes, trying
not to make any sound. He still wasn't used to the call.
"I have to go," he said and stood up.
"But we didn't even start," Yuki said and followed him to the door.
"another time, I have to go."
"But-"
"I'll be back," he promised and turned to look at her. Her eyes were pleading with him to stay, and even though--for reasons he
didn't understand--he wanted to, Severus knew he had to go. He walked quickly down the hall and down the stairs, and out of number twelve. Yuki was left
stunned, wondering why he left so suddenly. Yuki walked down the stairs, her eyes on the door Severus went through as if thinking he might come
back in.
"Oh Yuki dear," Molly called from the door to the kitchen, "Supper is done, would you like to join us?"
Yuki walked to the dining room where Sirius, Arthur-Molly's husband--,Tonks, Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny were already sitting. The only
empty seat was between Ginny and Sirius so Yuki sat there. Ginny didn't seem to be talking to anyone and Yuki felt bad about what happened. It
was not her intention to hurt Ginny's feelings and Yuki made a note to talk to her after supper.
"So, why did Snape rush out of here so quickly?" Ron asked.
"Ronald," Molly warned, "it is none of our business."
"It's ok,"Yuki told her. "I really don't know why he left."
"So what sort of things have you seen from his crazy head," Sirius joked.
"She won't tell you," Ginny spoke up.
"Ah why not?" Sirius asked, using his charming grin.
"It's not my place to tell," Yuki told him.
"Oh so what. Poor old Snivlly will never know."
"If you'll excuse me I'm not feeling very well," Yuki said and stood from the table. She walked back up to her room and lye down on her bed,
opening the book she was reading earlier. She was worried about Severus, thinking that maybe she did something wrong to make him leave. But
then he did say he would be back so he wasn't upset with her. She was confused about why she had wanted him to stay in th first place. She knew
him least of everyone at number twelve and found it odd how she was forming a bound with having him around. There was just something that made
her feel that maybe he understood her. And in a way he was the only one who did, being in her head and knowing more about herself then she did. Maybe it was how he felt the same thing as
her in all their memories, the fear. She wished she could ask him about some of the things she saw but knew that Severus was not one to talk
about things. What she really wanted was someone to talk to about all this, and Severus seemed the only one, but he would not talk to her. So
she lye there on her bed, reading about more things she would never understand.
Thanks for reading. Review if you can. I like to know what you think.
