  • Disclaimer: Sadly, I do not own these characters. That'd be JK, who's like a god. I'm not making any money off them either, which is okay with me.

Narcissa sat in her room after breakfast two days later. It was plain to her exactly what Draco and Harry had decided to do. They were avoiding each other as much as they could.

"Please tell me you're thinking of giving up on this endeavor of yours?"

"Severus! You know me better than that! And no, I'm not. I just have to find a way to make them talk through their old issues, that's all."

"You're kidding, right? Cissy, you're good but I don't think anyone's THAT good."

"Have a little more faith in me than that, Severus." Narcissa glared at the ghost. "I will find a way. I'm very determined in this."

"Remind me again why you're so determined?"

"Simple. They compliment each other perfectly. And I have never seen Draco so enthusiastic about something unless it involves Harry somehow. He comes more alive when Harry's involved. I don't know if it's the same for Harry, of course, seeing as I never knew him all that well before." She glanced at Severus.

"Oh, alright! Yes, when your son is involved in something that has to do with Potter, he too is more energetic about it and actually pays attention to what's going on. Why do I help you?" Severus rolled his eyes and disappeared again.

"Grandma?" Scorpius knocked on her door.

    "Yes?"

"We wanted to talk to you." Scorpius led Albus into the room. "It's about our dad's."

"Did they do something to each other?" She asked immediately.

"No, they didn't. At least, we don't think they did." Al said. "See, they've been avoiding each other for the last couple days."

"We don't think they're okay with being around each other and we both feel kinda bad about it." Scorpius finished.

"You know, boys, now that you mention it, they have been avoiding one another haven't they? Not to worry, I'm sure it's just issues they haven't spoken about for years and so never resolved. I'll see what I can do, okay?"

"Thanks." With that, the two boys took their leave. "I wonder if she knows we were listening to her before we came in?" Albus looked at his boyfriend.

"Probably not." They grinned at each other. "I do want to know who she was talking to though." Scor sat on Al's bed and pulled his boyfriend down beside him.

"We'll find out eventually. I mean, we're bound to walk by her room every so often and so I'm sure there's a chance we'll come upon the two of them again." Al sighed. "I really hope your grandma knows what she's doing though."

    "You and me both, Al."

    *************************

"There you are, Draco. Your son came to me with interesting news this afternoon."

"Did he?" Draco looked up at his mother from his favorite chair in the library.

"He did. He says that you've been avoiding Harry." She paused. "It's made both boys feel just awful about forcing the two of you to be around each other. I told them not to worry about it at all, that it was just the two of you needing to work through old issues."

    "Is that right?"

"Draco, don't you think it's time you actually tried talking to him? You know, try to get over your past with him?"

"Mother, we're not avoiding each other and I have let go of the past."

"You're not? So Scorpius and Albus are just imagining things, are they?" Narcissa raised an eyebrow at her son.

"Well, I suppose we might be. I just hadn't noticed." Draco had no idea why he wasn't making something up to excuse his behavior, he knew he couldn't lie to his mother very well.

"Dragon, you never were a good liar. Not to me, anyway. I think that if the two of you spoke together about your past issues, you wouldn't feel it nessacary to avoid each other. And I know it would make Scorpius feel better as well." She added for good measure.

Draco looked pensive for a few moments. "Fine, I'll talk to him about school. As much as he'll let me anyway." He gave in finally. Narcissa smiled and left the room. Scorpius always had been Draco's weakness. Anything that boy wanted, his father gave him.

Draco walked out into the gardens that Harry had taken to wandering around lately. The brunette man was found sitting beside the fountain, starring into the water as if it held the answer to life, the universe, and everything. "42." Draco spoke.

"What?" Harry whipped his head around.

"The answer you wanted out of the water in the fountain. It's 42." Draco answered.

"Okay." Harry said in a manner that suggested he was questioning Draco's sainity. "Was there something you needed?"

"Yes, actually. My mother came to see me and she said that the boys went to her and told her we were avoiding one another. The boys apparently feel very bad for making us be around each other. Mother claims that the reason we're avoiding each other is because we haven't resolved our childhood issues with one another. And, I think she may be right."

"So, lemme see if I understand you correctly. You want to sit out here and talk about our school rivalry?"

    "Well, yes." Draco shrugged.

"Okay. Answer a question for me then. Why did you hate me back then?"

Draco sat beside Harry on the edge of the fountain. "I was taught that the Weasleys were blood traitors and therefore not worthy to breath the same air as me. Before you say anything, that was the way Lucius raised me. Anyway, on the train, you chose a Weasley over me and I've hated you for it. I'd never had someone be chosen before me. And then you went and got on Gryffindor's House team when you should've gotten dentention, at the very least. Just annoying things, all the time, that added to the fact that I hated you for choosing Weasley." Harry listened to Draco's explanation.

"So, you hated me because you were a spoiled brat and didn't get what you wanted, right?"

Draco opened his mouth to protest this, closed it realizing he was right, and then said, "Well, I guess so."

    "Right then."

"So, tell me, why were you such a prick to me?"

"You started it." Harry sighed. "In the muggle school I went to, my cousin made sure I had no friends. He made sure everyone hated me. Then I came here and I met Ron on the train. He was my first actual friend and you insulted him before trying to be my friend." It was Harry's turn to shrug.

    *************************

"Narcissa, exactly what are the two of them doing?"

"Hello again, Severus." Narcissa said, not turning from her window where she was watching Draco and Harry. "And they are talking about their past issues with one another. I'd've thought that would be obvious for you?"

"You've got to be kidding me? You actually got them to talk to each other?"

"Of course. You doubted me, Severus?" She rounded on the ghost. In so doing, she missed what happened next in the garden.

    *************************

"And what about the other day? In the hallway? What was that for?" Harry asked.

    "What are you on about?"

    "Draco, you kissed me. Why?"

"I don't know. I didn't mean to do it, I just kinda did." They were silent for a moment. "Did you know that our sons are apparently together now?" Draco sort of changed the subject.

    "How do you know that?"

"I saw them snogging in Al's room."

For a few minutes, Harry was silent. It occurred to him suddenly how much Al looked like him and how much Scor looked like Draco. "That's why you kissed me. They look so much like us and...... That's why you wouldn't look up from the carpet either."

"Look, I'm sorry if I offended you or anything. I didn't mean to."

"Draco, it's okay. All I know is that I did like kissing you. That's the only thing I know for sure though, okay?"

"Yeah, alright. But how could you have enjoyed kissing me? You're straight."

"Not completely. I'm bisexual, actually. Which brings up the question of why you kissed me in the first place?" Harry phrased it as a question.

    "Don't you read the papers?"

"Stopped, actually. I only read the Quibbler now."

Draco rolled his eyes. "Scorpius' mother left me because she caught me in a rather... compromising position with Blaise Zabini."

"You're kidding me? Well, I guess that answers that question doesn't it?" It was a question that required no answer and thankfully, Draco didn't provide one. "What now?"

"Well, now I suggest we go grab some lunch. But as for anything else, let's not tell anyone about that kiss. Not until you figure out whatever it is that's going on in your head. I need to as well, for that matter. Okay?"

"That'll work." Together, they walked into the kitchen to get lunch.

    *************************

"Damn it, Severus! Now they're gone!" Narcissa stated, having finished yelling at Severus for doubting her and turning back to the window to spy on her son more.

"Serves you right, spying on your son."

"I really hope one of them hasn't pissed the other off." She stated, hurring out of her room.

"Hey! It's my job to just disappear, not yours." Severus called after her.

"You'll get over it!" She called back.

A/N: I have to say, el Amante, that yours was my first death threat EVER and a very interesting one at that! Also, yes, I made this one longer than the others on purpose, to make up for the last one.
