~*~ Those She Leaves Behind ~*~
"Green? The hell you say "" Aideen"s disbelieving voice trailed off as she stuck her head into the grate of the fireplace of the rectory cottage. She pushed against the stones in the back as if they would somehow move for her.
"I"m tellin" you, she threw that powder in the grate, yelled Albus" name, and then green flames shot out of nowhere and she disappeared with the Bill Weasley person."
"Do you think we could make it work?" Aideen asked with a wicked gleam in her blue-gray eyes. She reached for the little box daringly.
"Emergencies, Aideen. Remember?" Kellyn chided her friend, but not sharply.
"Well, Kellyn," Aideen started to argue with her hands on her hips, "I happen to think one of my best friends disappearing into a green fire in her very own fireplace is an emergency." Her voice was stern but her eyes were laughing.
"Well "" Kellyn began to waver.
"Jeanie Mac, "Lyn," Aideen wheedled more insistently, "Who knows what could happen to her with all those, those, wizards!" She finally spit out the word, a tint of real fear edging her voice.
Kellyn stood, her hands trembling slightly, and asked for the tinderbox. Aideen gleefully handed it over, stepping aside as Kellyn lifted the hinged lid. Aideen fairly danced in anticipation as her dark-haired counterpart peered dubiously at the green powder.
"Aideen, there doesn"t seem to be much of this stuff left," Kellyn hedged.
"Well, how much do we need?" Aideen"s elf-like features crumpled slightly, her lip curling.
"I dunno," admitted Kellyn with a sigh.
"Well, toss it all in then," Aideen snatched the box out of Kellyn"s hand, spilling all of its remaining contents into the grate.
"Albus Dumbledore!" Kellyn spoke clearly.
Both women were sucked into the grate with a great whoosh, Aideen shrieking in maniacal laughter at the spinning. Just quite as suddenly, both women unceremoniously landed in a heap in the middle of Albus" former office, much to the consternation and distress of one Minerva McGonagall, a laughing Bill Weasley, and a very stunned- appearing Kingsley Shacklebolt, who was nearly knocked off his spindly-legged chair by the two women.
"What the bloody hell is going on around here?" rumbled the deep voice of the Auror as he jumped to his feet to stare down at the tangled mess of limbs that was Aideen and Kellyn.
"I hate you, Aideen," Kellyn complained, letting her still-spinning head drop onto the floor with a rather loud, painful, thump. Bill Weasley laughed heartily as he attempted to help the newcomers to their feet.

"SEVERUS!" Orra"s screech summoned the man from the loo much faster than he should have traveled. The door banged off the stone wall as he barreled out to find Orra standing on his favorite armchair, her hands held out in front of her as if to protect her from the house elf quivering low on the floor in front of her.
"Missy summonsed the elf, Professor Snapes," the poor little blue-green elf stuttered as her ears flattened completely against her head.
"Missy summonsed no one!" Orra sputtered indignantly, fear clouding her eyes as she stared down at the new creature.
"Professor Snapes, sir, missy did summonsed, she did!" The little elf protested frantically.
"Calm down, elf," he demanded, his dark eyes glittering at the woman on his chair as he spoke, "I do not believe the Miss meant to summon you."
"I"s brings the tea," the elf pointed a shaky finger at his desk where the traditional Hogwarts tea service was laid out.
"Satisfactory, elf. You served well," Snape dismissed the elf with of flourish of his hand. As soon as the little being popped out of sight, he sank heavily on his still unmade bed.
"I did NOT summonsed anything!" Orra protested heartily. "I simply wondered where your kitchen was so I could start some tea!"
"Calm down, Orra," Snape muttered, holding his head in his hands. "The elves here serve the staff. She brought your tea."
Ungracefully, Orra clambered down from the armchair and hurried to Snape"s side, tea momentarily forgotten. "You are still not well?"
He shuddered involuntarily as she slipped her arm around him, forcing him to lie down once more. Of course, Orra wouldn"t recognize the oddity of the pink flush tingeing his normally pallid cheeks.
"I believe I may have developed some type of infection from the bite," he stated hoarsely as he shivered, suddenly very cold.
"I need to get some antibiotics then," Orra concluded, helping him to settle more comfortably against the pillows and tucking a blanket around him.
"First, some tea?" Snape asked with his eyes downcast in avoidance of her worried ones attempting to search his face.
Orra quickly poured his tea, and hers, then settled worriedly at his side on the bed. He sipped the steaming liquid, the heat calming his internal chill. "Severus, we " I " you," the poor woman stammered in her concern.
"Yes, distressing," he groaned. "I have a potion in my stores that will act as your antibiotic. "Would you," he hesitated, so unaccustomed to asking for assistance.
Orra finished for him, "Bring it to you?"
Snape nodded, relieved.
"Of course!" she chattered gaily. "Which direction?"
"It won"t be quite that easy," Severus hedged, reaching for his wand. "You"ll have to make your way into my office." With a twitch of his wand, he summoned parchment, ink and quill.
Orra watched in wide-eyed wonder as his writing implements floated toward him in mid-air.
"I"ll write out the directions. If you can"t lower the wards with my wand, I suppose you will need to find Bill Weasley to do it."
Orra took obvious offense to his implication that she was incapable of doing anything until she peered over his arm to read the beginning of the directions.
"I have to what?" she nearly hollered, her face paling significantly as she stared in disbelief at the smug smirk on her new friend"s face.

"Thanks, Bill," Kellyn groused as Bill picked her up off the floor.
"Mr. Weasley!" Minerva spoke sharply, "Who are these women?"
"Well, this is Kellyn, so I surmise you must be Aideen," Bill guessed as he helped the blonde to her feet.
"I am," Aideen smiled happily at the redhead. "And you must be the Bill Weasley," she added, extending her other hand to clasp his between hers. "And, who is this delightful person?" She turned to Kingsley who was still taking in the strange scene with his mighty arms crossed over his chest. Aideen cocked her head at him to peer curiously up from her much lower standpoint. She smiled wickedly at the thoughts his very much larger physique provoked, licking her lips hungrily as she eyed his broad chest with obvious interest. She stepped closer, smiling deviously as she placed her tiny hand on his massive forearm.
"I am Kingsley Shacklebolt," the Auror boomed.
"Well, Kingsley Shacklebolt, I am Aideen and this is my friend Kellyn and we"re looking for our friend Orra and Severus Snape," Aideen burbled cheerfully, her fingers rubbing the cloth of his robe.
"SEVERUS SNAPE?" roared the now outraged Auror. Aideen jumped and Kingsley automatically reached both hands to her arms to steady her with a slow grin splitting his face as she fell against him, her breasts brushing against his belly.

Severus grimaced at the taste of the potion he swallowed while Orra watched him fretfully. He handed her back the vial, and she set it on his bedside table.
"Thank you, again, Orra," he added with a wan smile.
"You"re welcome, Severus," she murmured, pushing his hair out of his eyes. He only cringed for a split-second with her gentle contact. "Someday I will demand an explanation for those, um, extraordinary measures," she teased him lightly.
"Safety first," he answered softly, "students always trying to break in to steal things."
"Ah, I see," Orra added as she wrapped a bandage around his pricked finger. "I think you could use a nice hot bath to get rid of these chills," she continued as she finished her attentions to his finger.
"That would be "" he paused, arching an eyebrow in consternation, "nice," he barely managed to finish before the noise he thought he had heard spilled over into his living area.
"SEVERUS SNAPE!" Kingsley"s deep-booming voice shattered the quiet of his dungeon home with great anger and urgency.
Kingsley slammed the door open to find an equally angry and defensive redheaded woman shielding an invalid. Hot on his heels, Minerva McGonagall shot him from behind, "STUPEFY!"
Kingsley hit the floor; face first, with a nose-shattering thump.
"Damn!" Aideen swore as she rounded the corner with Kellyn right behind her.
"Oh dear Morrigan "" Minerva trembled, her voice wavering slightly, "I cursed an Auror."
"That you did, Professor," Bill Weasley affirmed as he burst through the door, bringing up the rear. He struggled to roll the heavier man over and quickly cast an Episkey to stop his nosebleed. He shook his head in disbelief, his ponytail swinging side to side.
"Auror? What the feck is an Auror?" Kellyn grumbled, grabbing a flannel from Orra to clean the blood off Shacklebolt"s face.
"The authorities here, like your gardai," explained Bill.
"I suppose this means I should not expect a hero"s welcome then?" Snape groused as he attempted to pull the blankets over his bare chest.
"I expect not, Severus," tutted Minerva, her trembling fingers covering her mouth "I expect not."
"Even after everything Harry said "" Bill shook his head as he started to levitate Kingsley"s body into a standing position. His attempt was thwarted as Aideen collapsed to her knees next to the offended Auror.
"Give me that!" the tiny woman snapped the flannel from Kellyn, pushing her friend out of the way to cradle Shacklebolt"s head in her lap. "Did you really have to go and hurt him?" she complained, quite unnaturally upset over the relative stranger"s plight.
"Professor, this opens up a whole Pandora"s box of consequences," Bill hissed at McGonagall.
"I am well aware of the issues, Mr. Weasley."
The others looked on as Aideen softly stroked Kingsley"s cheek, her thin little rosy lips pursed in concern.
"I think we should move him back to your office, Professor," Bill spoke to Minerva. "I suppose one of us will have to Obliviate him."
"Yes, yes, I dare say you are correct, Mr. Weasley." Minerva gazed worriedly from Severus to Kingsley, her hand trembling ever so slightly.
