Severus sat in the sitting area and let his thoughts drift away. He thought back to the day that Lily and James recruited him. He allowed a tear to escape his eyes as he rose and walked to the Room of Remembrance.

He entered the room and walked to the wall plaque. He felt the tears coming out even harder. He said, “At times I do hate you, Lily. You made me feel alive by introducing me to Ana.”

Flashback

Lily ran to Severus and said, “Sev, guess what. James and I are not going to stay with Dumbledore he has lied to us. I talked to a friend and she told me about the lies we are fed here.”

Severus said, “What are you talking about, Lily?”

Lily said, “Dumbledore told James that you are romantically wanting me.”

Severus said shocked, “What?!?!”

Lily nodded and said, “That is right. James walked away and told me that after the meeting. Sirius said that he felt uneasy with Remus. They said that Remus is acting different. I talked to Remus and he no longer made sense.”

Severus said, “Is James mad at me? I do not want to loose his friendship.”

James walked up and said, “No Severus. I am mad at Dumbles for making me think those lies. You are one of my friends. I would never betray that friendship.”

Severus said, “Where are we going to go? That fool will hunt us all.”

Lily said, “I have sent an owl to Valentine Manor. Hopefully they will know what to do.”

James and Severus looked at Lily confused and just shrugged.

Sirius walked the halls looking for James, Remus, Lily. He had a message to give them from his Emperor. He spotted James and Lily. He walked up and did not acknowledge Severus. He said, “The Easter Hols you will be granted access to Valentine Manor.”

James said, “Sirius, we will be bringing Severus with us.”

Sirius just shrugged and asked, “Has anyone seen Remus?”

Lily said, “Dumbles has him in his office. Sorry Sirius.”

Sirius walked off saddened.

Easter Hols

Severus walked up to a towering Manor.

A man in a red cloak greeted him. He said, “Welcome to my home. The Emperor will give you more instruction at a later time. I am on my way to patrol my grounds.”

Lily walked in to the Manor and said, “Ana, I am glad that you accepted us here. Come I want you to meet someone.” Lily dragged a young woman over to her other friend. She introduced them, “Severus this is Ana. Ana I would like you to meet my best friend Severus.”

Ana looked at Severus and gasped. She said, “I will be back.” She walked away holding her chest.

Severus looked at Lily and growled, “Why did you do that?”

Lily smiled and said, “She would be good for you.”

The Next Day

Lily and Ana were talking when Severus walked up. Lily smiled and asked, “Why so flustered Ana?”

Ana replied, “My dreams are of a man who would complete my family circle. The man has dark eyes like your friend.”

A year later

Severus walked over to Ana smiling at being bound to a beautiful woman like her. He was also bound in life to her other husband Vincent Valentine.

Emperor walked up and said, “Our fight will start. Albus killed my grandson and I will have my revenge.” He turned and left.

Lily walked up after the Emperor walked away. She smiled and said to Ana and Severus, “I am glad that we will be hopefully free of Albus. Voldemort is worried about his godson. If I do fall in this battle, Sev I want you to promise me that you and the others will remember me this way.” She started to sing.

Severus smiled.

End of Flashback

Severus had a tear falling down as the memory faded from his mind. He was now kneeling. He remembered that he could sing but since his best friends died he lost that desire. His heart carried the guilt that they died but he still lived. His voice started singing.

He failed to notice the red shadow standing in the door or the red eyes watching him. Severus continued the song.

“We have told you that you bear no fault.” Vincent said. He was worried about his dark mate's darkened mood.

Severus lifted sad eyes to his mate. He said, “It is always there. It won't stop.”

Ana walked in and said, “Tell James and Lily how you really feel.”

Severus said, “I don't know if I can.” He was shocked when Ana walked over to him and knelt with him. He jumped when he felt strong arms go around him. He was comforted when he was placed in an embrace with Ana and Vincent. He let go of all the tears he held inside.

Ana sighed as she felt the tears hit her neck. She knew the words Severus wanted to truly say so she started singing them.

'If life could only bring again,

the days I took for granted when
To hear your voice was just a call away

Vincent's haunting voice joined in and it calmed Severus.

'Oh what I'd give for just some time,

to say the things that slipped my mind
There's so much now I'd really like to say

Severus smiled and knew that those words were what he needed. He started joining their song.

we did the things we did back then
I'll store those precious memories in my mind

Severus failed to notice that Ana and Vincent had stopped singing.

Severus sighed and gave into the exhaustion that he felt from the room. He barely felt Ana backing away.

Ana smiled and said, “Vincent carry him back to our rooms. He needs to rest.”

Vincent nodded and became worried when Severus did not acknowledge him rising with Vincent. He picked up Severus and turned worried eyes to Ana who just smiled.

Ana said softly, “Our husband will be fine, love. He just wore himself out fighting these emotions. We need to keep an eye on him and allow him to mourn James and Lily.”

Vincent said, “I was wondering when he would break down.”

Harry stood off in the distance not wanting to be noticed. He heard about his father. He listened in to know more.

Ana unaware of Harry said, “We have never had a time to mourn our fallen warriors. Albus keeps attacking us. The battle will never end with him. Albus has already tore many of us apart. Cecil can't mourn the loss of his unborn child. Zidane is still torn up about what Albus did to him that Bartz can not reach him. Seifer was wounded and the link rebounded on Zell. We will never stop fighting. Sirius' mate is on the side of Albus. Sirius won't talk about it but without Remus then Sirius will always be at half strength. Albus won't stop. Next time we might loose my father or my brother or even our son.” She gasped hearing the footsteps running in the opposite direction. She knew that Harry had heard everything.

Harry heard that his family was being attacked and that made him mad. He turned and ran to the door.

Vincent said, “Ana what is it?”

Ana said, “Our son heard. Our Hadrian heard us talking every bit of it.”

Vincent said, “I will put our mate to bed and go after our son.” He disappeared in a swirl of red.

Ana looked at the plaque and said, “What am I to do Lily?” She walked out of the room.
