A/N~ Thank you all for staying with me, which means a lot. Here is the next chapter, it is short, but the points are there.
Staar – Thank You for your kind words. Yes there is much work to be done, it will be hard to deal with a survivor’s complex.
Meechypoo – They will find that Harry isn’t the only one that will need a bit of coaxing, he just happens to be the immediate need at the moment. Thank you for your kind words as well.
Djaddict – Comfort is something I find in many places, and writing is one. More hotness to be had, but I have some other pressing issues first for the lovely men.

Harry walked the stone halls away from the comfort of the room where he had experienced bliss for the first time. The stones no longer screamed of the loss inside his mind. The years so full, now extended beyond the day. Harry could see so much more than the past, the future was yet unwritten. He was no longer empty, instead he was filled with hope. A new beginning was ahead of him, one that did not seem so overwhelming as it had the day before. Before Hogwarts, all he felt was a hopelessness that he would endure servitude his entire life. The first year or so after Hogwarts seemed like a nice dream with just a bit of evil thrown in. It wasn't until his third year that he returned to the feeling that his life was never his own. It was an oppressive feeling, having others direct you around like a pawn, thinking about how your decisions will affect many. That oppression was lifting, something he had longed for.
He could feel the joy of the day, the elation of freedom that allowed one to overlook the devastation, if only for a moment. His hand reached out and slid along the fluttering of a black cloak and more resolve seeped into him as they moved towards the Great Hall. Peace flowed at the touch of another hand on his back, reassurance that he was not alone in these moments. It was this touch that was his salvation. Years of bitterness melted away in light of a soft touch. He could not remember a kind touch in his first eleven years, and only a few seemed to register afterwards. As if they could feel the darkness creeping over his mind, each of his companions pressed closer. They paused for a moment and Harry took a deep breath, filled with their calming scent. Harry moved first towards the doors of the Great Hall, his companions followed closely.
Ron and Hermione were sitting close with Neville, Luna and a few others at one of the tables. Most of the other survivors had gathered there that morning. It was a somber occasion, since it felt like the ghosts of the hero's still lingered in the room, even after the evidence had been removed the night before. Heavy silence was broken by gasps, followed by a noise made by many people shifting at the same time.
Hermione turned to see who had arrived and a smile crept all the way to her eyes, Harry looked serene and almost happy. Yesterday during their talk on the bridge, it seemed as if the war had taken everything that meant something from her friend. His eyes had been hollow and he moved as if he was on autopilot. This morning his eyes were as bright as she remembered before Sirius' death. It took her a moment to take in the appearance of similar looks of contentment on Draco Malfoy's face and that of Professor Snape. She noted the touches that seemed light and subtle. She would have to see what she could find on Ghost Magic and bonding. Either way the three of them looked content, not on the edge of a fight, or worse, flight.
The trio moved in unison, with Severus leading, looking for an appropriate place for them to sit. It was in that moment the Castle shook again. Severus and Draco both reached to hold onto Harry, the three of them pillars of strength to the other. Once all three were entwined, a loud explosion of power seemed to snap out of all of them, causing all the occupants of the Hall to grip onto their seats or tables for support. The power exploded out and everyone closed their eyes to the brightness that was expended. When the brightness dissipated, eyes started to open slowly. Harry looked around and found the Head table had been repaired and was calling to him. He broke from the other two, only to reach out to take a hand of each and they moved. Severus understood the meaning, they had to take their seats where the founders had intended, there was a compulsion to move towards the head table, and a sideways glance told him that both Draco and Harry also felt it.
Once upon the dais, they moved around the table and found the three chairs in the middle of the table had been changed. They were no longer the same size and height, but the middle one was larger than the rest and two flanking were just a bit larger than the rest, but smaller than the middle chair. Severus took one and pulled it out and let Harry settle as he pushed it in. He repeated the gesture for Draco and then took the middle chair.
Minerva choose that moment to sweep into the great Hall and to the new podium that had appeared as she approached.
"We have staff changes to address, and then we will discuss the reconstruction of the debris and memorial services. Last night, Severus Snape was appointed as the Headmaster of Hogwarts. I have received news from our new acting minister that both Draco and Harry Potter will be allowed to complete Auror training to get them ready for their positions at Hogwarts next semester. All other issues regarding the events of yesterday will be up to our newest triad to disclose. As for reconstruction, it seems the castle has started to repair itself, but there will be a need for volunteers to help with other areas that need restoration and new wards. Families have been notified of casualties, and I expect a schedule of memorials soon. Those who are currently staying at the castle can do so for as long as you need. We will work out arrangements in the coming months to tend to any other issues that may arise to ensure a smooth transition." Minerva took a breath and looked back at the now filled staff table and then the small gathered crowd of students, Order members, family and Aurors.
She took another needed breath, "School of course has been suspended, and after talking to the ministry officials, anyone who wishes to redo their last year of schooling may do so. With the approval of guardians, we will make any adjustments necessary for those who wish to test out of their year and into the next. Our world has seen evil, we have lived under the cloud of hate and suspicion for so long. Here... Now... You... Change starts with us. The authorities will deal with those who need to be dealt with. You will be the ones who can change. Change your hearts and change your minds for a better future."
There really was no applause, there was nothing to applaud really. The words were deep and resonated with everyone there. Everyone went back to their somberness, their food, and company.
Harry sat there staring down at his plate, he still felt the hope and joy that had only moments before kept him smiling. In the light of morning, everything can change. Hope was a ghost, breathless and feeble. Only nurtured by the voices of many. He had to the first voice.
Harry stood, and quietly made his way to the podium. His voice was soft, but it seemed the castle amplified his voice for all.
"When we speak of change, we talk of something so deep inside ourselves that only life changing events can break the bond they have on our soul. Let yesterday be a day of breaking bondage. Let us see ourselves for who we are, and who we are not. We are not a society of super humans who will rule the world because of our gifts. We are all humans, bleeding and grieving the same as muggles do in war. It is what's in our hearts that will change the tides of evil vs. good. Look at one another as your brother or sister, friend and colleague. Don't let the past determine your way, set new standards and new goals. Be better than you were yesterday today, and be better tomorrow than you were today." Harry looked at Severus and then Draco, then glanced out at the rapt attention of the rest of the hall.
"Simple lives are the happiest. Constantly seeking greatness leads to more days like yesterday, because you lose sight of people. Wizard blood is red, not pure or tainted. We breathe no matter which tower claims the crest on your uniform. Wizards fought for wizarding blood yesterday, but used giants, trolls, elves and other non-wizard creatures to get there. Prove your worth through what you can offer to make things better for all, not some. Let the evil that died yesterday stay buried forever, and let the heroes live on in each of us. Make their voices the ones that speak louder than a madman's."
Harry sighed, he was again exhausted. Simple was best, and he hoped that one day the rest of the world would see that. He felt an arm around his waist, and he was swept up in strong arms, and a strong spice scent. Severus smiled at him, and his own body sang. A loud clapping could be heard as Severus carried him out of the hall, and more comfort flooded him when he felt Draco's touch on his shoulder. He sighed, closed his eyes and rested his head on Severus' shoulder.
