Tigris Falcon, awoke groggily, and rolled over trying to sort through the fuzz that was fogging her brain. She rubbed her Dark Brown eyes tiredly. But suddenly they flew open. Today was the day she would start Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Tigris came from a long line of Wizards and Witches, but she had never been to a wizarding school due to her father's job as an unspeakable at the Ministry Of Magic. For the last 12 years he had been on an assignment that had kept her family on the very outskirts of Civilization. So when she had begun to show the first signs of Magic around the age of 10, her mother had taken her into hand and taught her at home. Now 15, and with her father no longer on the same assignment, her folks had decided to send her to their old alma mater. Tigris slowly got up and padded her way to the bathroom and stepped into a cool shower. As the tepid water sluiced down over her, she began to ponder things she had never had to think about before. "What house will I be in?" she wondered silently to herself. Her Father had been a Gryffindor and her mother a Ravenclaw. Though her parents had told her all about the wonders of the Castle and the fun and learning that awaited her. She was still frightened beyond reason. She felt somewhat better after her shower and threw on a comfortable set of burgundy robes and proceeded to throw the things she had missed into her trunk. In the midst of her packing frenzy there came a knock on her bedroom door. "Come In" she called. Her father Sam stuck his head in the door. He had his hand covering his eyes.. "It's ok dad, I'm decent." She laughed. He dropped his hand and pulled his other one out from behind his back. thought you should have a good luck present so I bought you this." He handed her a long thin package. She looked at him bemusedly. "Well go on, open it." He said his eyes twinkling. Tigris peeled the paper off and squealed throwing herself into her father's arms. He laughed and said. "Now I expect you to try out for your house Quidditch team." Tigris nodded. Running her hand over the smooth surface of her brand new Firebolt. "What on Earth is all the screaming going on up there." Tigris's mother Layla called up the stairs." "I've just given her good luck present to her." Her father yelled back down. "Well that explains it, come down and eat your breakfast." Tigris gave one last look in her trunk and then brushed her unruly waist length black hair. Her hair was the bane of her existence. It was actually quite pretty.. Her friends envied it. But to her, it was just plain old hair and a nuisance. Tigris wasn't drop dead gorgeous, but, she was quite pretty with her large brown eyes, long eyelashes and pale complexion. She often complained to her mother that she would be mistaken for a ghost as pale as her skin was. Layla always just laughed and told her to quit making a mountain out of a molehill. Tigris tugged her brush through her hair a few more times muttering curses all the while and finally smoothed it into a ponytail and then made her way downstairs for breakfast. Her mother flicked her want and Tigris's favorite breakfast appeared in front of her. "Are you nervous honey?" her mother asked gently. "Esh Fery mum." She answered through a mouth full of French toast and bacon. "Well don't be." She said flicking her wand again, this time at the dishes who began to wash themselves. "You'll love it, I promise." Soon it was time to Platform 9¾ Tigris loaded her trunk and her owl Cupid onto a trolley, hugged her parents good-bye, took a deep breath, and stepped through the barrier onto the platform..
