A fallen angel.
That was how I knew him.
His silent steps. His deep
black eyes. I still remember them.
He was so different, almost
a caricature. Impossible to go
unnoticed.
I knew that he had been
a strong man. It could be seen...
sometimes.
But I got to know him when
he was already
defeated.
The curved shoulders, the emotionless eyes, the sarcastic commentaries.
He was a defeated man...
and I loved
him.
So many times that desperate way of talking,
without the slightest hope in us... I hated that, and
I provoked him mercilessly.
I'd answer his questions, I'd excel
myself in his classes, just to prove him that there was
a light in the end of the
tunnel. He hated me for that. And, the more irritated
he got, the
more I provoked him.
I've never asked for his kisses,
nor imagined myself in his arms.
All I wanted was a little demonstration,
something telling me that he recognized
my presence.
My days weren't
complete without the sight of him,
and many times I caught myself looking
for him, just to know
