Pairing: Severus Snape x Harry Potter
Rating: R but eventually NC-17
Warnings: Angst, Slash, Violence, Language, eventual Lemon and OCCness (They have grown up and due to the situations I have created, they aren’t exactly like JKRowling wrote them)
Disclaimer: If I owned it would I be writing this . . . will maybe, but I would be busy writing the 6th book.
Summary: Two have bonded out of necessity, but all they felt was Hate. Yet as time passed, the passion for Hate changed.
Author’s Notes: I have changed my online name because I disappeared for awhile and my writing has changed, so thus my writing may seen familiar as another, but it is indeed my own.
As for grammar and spelling mistakes, I apologise. I have read it over, but they may be mistakes remaining. I have yet to get a beta, or learn exactly how they work, but for now this will due.
Otherwise, Enjoy! :)

Acidic smoke curled lovingly around the rose lips before a gust of breathe moved it aside allowing the cigarette to pass. After inhaling the thick clouds of smoke, the cigarette was lowered to the chipped, cruel looking ash tray and the ashes that were threatening to fall were harshly flicked causing most of the ashes to miss its target and splatter on the chipped and poor looking table.
"What do you want?" The rose lips opened with a snarl, emitting those harsh words as smoke was again released.
"To find you." Was the tired, but determined, reply. In answer to his words he received a snort and a puff of smoke that curled around his long, tried looking grey beard and stung his blue eyes that for once weren’t twinkling.
"You did, so now what?" The green eyes glared, but not in the least glowing or sparkling with the innocence, love, or passion for life they once held.
"Harry – "
"Don’t Harry me, Albus Dumbledore! I am here because of you! Your strategic, scheming plans caused me to have to live this way! To hide!" Harry Potter interrupted, smashing his cigarette out causing the ash tray to clang and crash against the table top and the table itself to creak in protest.
"I only did what I thought was best." Again a snort was the reply. "I am only a wizard, Harry. An old, tired wizard that hoped and prayed to Merlin that I was making the right decisions, but in the end I hurt the ones that I care and love most." Albus said, gently to calm the only passion he had seen from his ex-student – anger.
"And now you expect me to forgive you." It wasn’t a question, it was a statement of fact. Albus said nothing, knowing no reply was needed, for his intention was already clear. Harry got up out his worn-out, damaged chair to walk towards the only window of his dingy apartment, the one he had lived in since he left.
Since he left it all.
Harry ripped open the foggy, dirty window with a slam, causing the low light to reflect off the glitter of gold on his left hand. Harry stared down at the gold band that rest on his left ring finger. With a tired sigh, he spun it for a moment, his fingers itching to rip it off and toss it at his once mentor, but knew he couldn’t because of the bond – it could never be removed till after death. Harry then turned back the Headmaster of Hogwarts, his features taught in a frown.
"Why?" He asked the one question that Albus dreaded. "Why did you make us marry and bond? I could handle everything else, but . . . that was too much. And don’t tell me it was for my own protection because it wasn’t. It may have been part of your motivation, but I know there’s more. Much more." Harry closed his eyes as he turned back out the open window. The dirty, ragged curtains brushing as his shoulder with each gust of wind. "You knew how much we hated each other. Hate each other."
There was silence in the room for a few moments as the smoke disappeared and the room slowly lost its musty smell with puff of wind that swirled around the room.
"It was partly for your protection, yes, but you are correct, I had other motivations." Albus sighed, watching the young man that had grown up with such difficulty, abuse and horror. "You needed to be stronger to survive that war finish Voldemort and I needed to reassure that Severus was indeed on our side and would remain so. Thus a marriage and bond between you, solved both of my dilemmas." Albus said, looking down at his worn, wrinkled hands.
"Again I was a tool." Harry muttered, shaking his head.
"I didn’t mean any harm – "
"Didn’t mean any HARM!!!" Harry shouted, spinning around quickly, his arms flying. "You destroyed both our lives! We hated each other! And now, here we are, still bonded even though we are miles upon miles apart even after all these years! I can still feel him in the back of my mind! I can feel him prodding in hope to find me for you! I know they are all looking! How he can still love and trust an old fucker like you is beyond me because I sure as hell don’t!" Harry spat as he approached Albus, carelessly shoving his face into Albus’ without thought.
"Harry, you were alone and so was he. Sirius died, Ron died along many others. Severus was also alone and remain so without my intervention. You are both powerful wizards and with your light, you could lighten his shadow while he protected you from the darkness." Harry rolled his eyes, stepping back. Albus stood up, his eyes pleading. "You were never going to marry, or be with anyone significant. I saw that after the war, you would slowly destroy yourself and die early. Severus could save you from that. And in return you would save him from loneliness, bitterness and help him see that he was worth more then he would ever let himself, or anyone else see."
"So you figured you were saving our lives, not destroying them." Harry snorted, crossing his arms.
"I was saving both of you from yourselves. I love you both and without my intervention you would both be gone now." Albus got choked up as tears threaten to spill from his tried blue eyes. "I couldn’t have that."
"And it never crossed your mind that maybe we wanted to die? I mean, when we both finished our purpose in destroying Voldemort, just maybe we both wanted to live and die in peace that we fought for?" Harry glared at Albus and not at all relenting.
"Harry." A tear fell from one of Albus’ eyes and was unheeded by both. "You were both like sons to me. I had . . . I had to keep you both safe."
"Just not from you." Harry grumbled, turning away and grabbing another cigarette. With shaking hands he raised the unlit smoke to his lips while blindly searching and reaching for his lighter.
"Harry . . ." Albus tried again, but knowing that it would fall on deaf ears. He could see that Harry was done. He had searched for three years after Harry disappeared, days after Voldemort’s final death without a word of warning. They were all searching for him, including Severus.
They both suffered from the distance. It was plan as day that Harry was extremely under weight even though he wore torn, baggy clothing that was in dire need of replacement. He face was unhealthy sunken in, black circles and bags hung under his eyes while his entire body screamed for sleep, nutrition and just some plain tender loving care.
Severus Snape was no better.
They needed to remain close – at least in the same area – otherwise the apparent would happen. Unable to sleep, general weakness and loss of appetite – not just food, but of life in general. They wouldn’t die – unless by accident, or suicide – from the distance, but they suffer. Their minds, bodies, souls and magic would be strained because the other half was too far away to have a strong bond and transfer the energies that they shared. Thus it would slowly be wasted and lost as it searched for the other half – slowly going insane.
It was a wonder they lasted this long.
"Come back, Harry. If not for me, or Severus, come for yourself. You are suffering." Albus tried, knowing the answer, but feeling the need to ask anyway. There was no hurt in trying and also letting Harry know there was somewhere else to run – Hogwarts, his home.
"No." Was the firm and expected reply. Harry let the smoke form his cigarette exit from his nose while speaking.
"Harry -- " Albus tried again, not easy deterred.
"No, Albus." Harry interrupted, turning to face him. Albus saw the sadness enter the emerald eyes before turning back to there common unyielding glass. "I won’t. I will not return to my husband, who hates me and married only out of duty. Nor will I return to a man that I once thought as my guardian, mentor and maybe even a grandfather, who just used me. I will be a tool no longer." Harry returned the cigarette to his lips with a shaky hand. Albus sighed, sadly and nodded in understanding.
"Then just remember that I am sorry and the door at Hogwarts is always open." Albus said as he reached into his pocket and placed a leather pouch onto the table. It clanged and chinked gently, subtly announcing its contents. "Take this. I know you were unable to empty your account and living on little."
"I don’t need your money, nor your pity." Harry growled, grabbing the pouch and tossing it back at the Headmaster of Hogwarts. "Get out."
"Harry – "
"Just get out!!!" Harry screamed, his green eyes flashing. Albus was silent in reply, nodded and tighten his robe around himself as he reached for his wand.
"I’m sorry, Harry James Potter-Snape. It was never my intention to hurt you." And with that Albus Dumbledore, the Headmaster of Hogwarts apparated.
Harry glared at where Albus once stood and sighed angrily as he saw that the pouch once again lay on the table. He grabbed it and promptly tossed it out the screen-less, open window.
"Fuck you, Albus."
