She shaves his face
She combs his hair
She helps him find his rocking chair
She looked down at her husband as he sat there in the whicker chair one of their oldest friends had
bought him for his 40th birthday. His face was still as handsome as ever, except his eyes - they'd
lost all their sparkle, all their happiness since that day.
She cooks his meals
She wipes his mouth
And the window that he's looking out
After feeding him she left for a little while to wash the dishes. Looking out of the window she saw
the rose bush he'd planted when he'd bought the house 20 years ago - before.....
She reads him books
She speaks his name
Oh every day is much the same
The day passed uneventfully. She cooked, she cleaned, she sang and spoke to him, read him his favourite book
and he ... he did nothing. He didn't move, or smile, or even acknowledge her existence at all.
She sighs that sigh from deep within
The one that says
She misses him
"He's coming to visit us again today darling." She spoke softly in his ear, "We should get you all
smartened up - I know you two like to laugh at each other if you look less than perfect" She laughed and
in her mind she heard him laughing along with her. She looked up at him hopefully - but still his
expression remained as blank as ever. She sighed and went to get his clothes ready.
She misses his gentle touch
And the way he used to make her laugh
She misses the man he was
In all of those old photographs
Their wedding photo sat on the mantlepiece, the little figures waved out from it as she walked past
cleaning. "You looked so handsome that day darling" She whispered to herself - for talking to him
was almost pointless. She looked at herself in the photo, her long hair blowing gently round her face
in the picture, - she'd since cut it off, it was too much hassle. Their friend would be arriving soon and
bring some special guests with him.
So strong, so kind, so sweet, so smart
The man who stole her very heart
She misses him
He'd always wanted children - she'd been the reluctant one. What with the war still going on it didnt
seem right. But he'd talked her into it. He talked her into anything. The children were only 5 when it happened,
when..... when their father changed. Keeping the twins would have been impossible - so she gave them
to the only other man she trusted. He'd taken them in and raised them almost as well as their parents could.
His children come on Saturday
Their at his feet
His grandkids play
It's sad they don't know him at all
He's just the one they call grandpa
He'd never known his grandchildren. They knew him of course, in a way. They'd heard stories of what he
did. What he'd sacrificed. All his amazing achievements. And they looked up to him - but they couldn't love
him - she knew that and she'd never tried to force them too - that would be cruel.
They take out his trash
They mow his lawn
Things he can't do since he's been gone
They always helped out of course. He was so popular back then that some of it even lasted until today,
even though he never acknowledged any of his visitors they still came. Some times they'd talk to him hoping
to remind him, to wake him up but it never happened and they would apologise for not staying long...
She's grateful that they're pitching in
And like everyone
She misses him
But she knew they couldnt wait to get away. Truth be told she couldn't either.
She misses his gentle touch
And the way he used to make her laugh
She misses the man he was
In all of those old photographs
She hadn't loved him first. It was his best friend originally caught her eye. But they'd fallen out
it wasn't until after they were married... after IT happened that she saw him again. She knew he still loved her
but her husband had stolen her heart many years ago. And so she stayed because she
really did love him, even if he couldn't even remember her, let alone love her.
So strong, so kind, so sweet, so smart
The man who stole her very heart
She misses him
Not this version of him - not the weak pathetic man who sat their broken. She loved the strong hero, the man who stood up
for what was right, who would do anything to protect those he cared about.
And yes they're still together
After all these years
But sometimes you can almost feel
The sadness in her tears
Ron arrived and smiled at Hermione gently. But no matter how many times he visited he couldn't bare to
look at Harry, couldn't look into the eyes of Lily Potter, in the face of James Potter that made up
his once best friend.
The man who lost his mind and his memories defeating the Dark Lord. Instead he looked to Hermione, who was greeting
her children and grandchildren - one's he'd raised as his own. He knew he still loved her, but he also knew
she would never stop loving Harry and so he settled for being her best friend. And trying to comfort her through
the long lonely nights.
