Disclaimer:J.K Rowling owns all things Harry Potter and I’m
just playing with her world, but Marvin is mine people and if you even think
about touching him I’ll hex you into oblivion!
(Or set Lucius on you. You decide
which is worse.)
A/N: Hello everyone! Well, I have finally found a smidgeon of time
(not really I’m stealing it from my homework) to sit down and start the sequel
to Marvin the Mad Muggle. Anyone who
hasn’t read that yet will definitely want to go to it first or you will have no
idea who Marvin is or why he’s involved in the wizarding world at all. More importantly, you won’t know all the
funny…er…horrible things that happened to Severus and Harry last time
around. For all of you who are fans of
the original, let me know if there’s anything that you want to see happen that
I didn’t get to last time. I aim to
please and you were all so wonderful to Marvin and I last time. Hugs to you all! Read, Review, and Enjoy!

Chapter 1: A Year for Correspondence
August 28th, 2005
Dear Harry,
Well, the first week of classes went by really fast. I’m going to be quite busy with all of my
classes and I think auror Krivdal (the elder) will actually be of some assistance
there. She sets me down every day and
makes me do my homework. (She even makes
me supper if it takes that long) So much for procrastination this year. Justin was a bit upset with her because it
cuts into our game time, but Lucius is happy to TRY to play with him.
>Speaking of Lucius…did YOU know they were sending him? Do you have any idea how crazy he’s going to
drive me? The man has drug me to Walmart
every day since we got back so that we can go through every item in the store
and get a complete explanation. He made
me explain tampons to him.
TAMPONS!! I almost died. Anyway, Ginger says I have to get back to my
homework.
Your Friend,
Marvin
September 2nd, 2005
Dear Marvin,
He didn’t! Severus says he’ll
send Lucius a note, but I don’t know if that will help. He also seemed a bit miffed that you hadn’t
written to him as well so you might want to rectify the error. Draco has mentioned once or twice that he
wouldn’t mind hearing from you as well, but whether this is because of an
actual interest in you or to keep an eye on his father I don’t know. Probably both. Slytherin.
I’m glad to hear that Ginger Krivdal is working out well. There were some…concerns that she would be a
bit too strict with you. (Most of them voiced by Severus. Does he seem unusually interested in her to
you?) As long as you’re happy, we’re
happy, although we would have liked an auror from the British Ministry of Magic
there with you. Still, the Krivdals, or
auror Justin at least, are known to you and competent and we want you to be
comfortable. Was Justin working for the
British Ministry this summer? It did not
escape my notice that though I picked you up in America, your friend was living in London…and had been expecting you for some sort of
tournament. Care to explain?
The first day of class was rather exciting. I have a feeling that watching Draco stumble
through his first year will keep me from getting bored. It’s nice to have Hermione back home. She was very sorry that she missed all the
excitement and hopes to meet you soon.
This, of course, has not deterred her from not only making plans away
from Hogwarts for Christmas, but also booking another summer in some desolate
patch of land miles away from any decent floo connection! So when she says she hopes to meet you soon, that could be any time in the next two to five years.
Well, I’ll say goodbye for now. Essays to grade, halls to stalk, potions masters to torment.
Sincerely,
Harry
September 3rd, 2005
Marvin,
Please explain to me how the insufferable Potter has received a letter
before me? Did you plan on writing any
time soon, or is this some sort of juvenile ploy to get me to come and visit
you when you’ve only been gone for a little under two weeks? I have sent a note to Lucius explaining to
him his faux pas in forcing you to explain certain…feminine items while in
public. Though I dare say you left out
the part of how embarrassed he was when he realized what he was holding. Do try and keep him under control and do not
be afraid to resort to your rather Gryffindorish style of retribution if he
continues to torment you. I’m certain
Miss Krivdal could be of some assistance.
I understand it from Potter that she is rather interested in keeping
your education on track. Perhaps if you
were to mention to her that Lucius is distracting you from your studies?
I had better receive
an owl soon,
Snape
September 8th, 2005
Dear Snarky ‘Big Brother’,
It’s not as though I had forgotten to write to you. You should try getting things done with one
auror bullying you to study, another trying to get you to slack off, and one
loony Brit trying to find out what feminine napkins are! Yes, Ginger (the elder auror
Krivdal, you seem to remember her) has been very helpful with Lucius. She doesn’t let him anywhere near me when I’m
studying and when he tried to charm his way passed her she completely brushed
him off. He was pissed and sulked for
the rest of the day. Is Draco like that
when he can’t get his way?
Harry asked me a few questions about Justin and I’d like to answer them
here if you’d be kind enough to pass the information on. Justin was indeed working for the British
Ministry for a little over a year now actually.
The tournament he was expecting me for was for a game called Halo and we
were going to be playing it online.
(Harry will know what that means.)
The reason Justin wasn’t surprised to see me when I showed up on his
doorstep is because I had been playing a short tour of several European
countries this past summer. He simply
thought I moved up my plans and wanted to surprise him, though he caught on
pretty fast to something being out of the ordinary when he saw you with
me.
That’s all. I hope the students
are making things too difficult for you.
Sincerely yours,
Marvin
September 30th, 2005
Dear Marvin,
Thank you for your letter last week inquiring as to how I’m enjoying my
new teaching position. To be brief on
that subject, I love the looks on the children’s faces when the see me perform
and new and interesting spell, but I hate trying to pound the information
behind the display into their thick little heads. I’ve been pleasant thus far, but I’m starting
to think that Severus had the right idea with his behavior all these years.
I must admit that when I first accept Dumbledore’s offer for the Charms
position I was leery of what it would be like to be around Potter on a daily
basis again. Although Harry and I seem
to have little arguments on a regular basis, I think they’re more in fun than
anything else. Surprisingly, Weasley
(Ronald) has been stopping by quite often to say hello. It is quite enjoyable to have someone to
discuss the school Quidditch teams with.
We usually take tea together when he finishes the flying lessons for the
day. He actually invited me to accompany
him to Hogsmeade for a drink tomorrow evening. I imagine Potter and Granger will be along as
well, but Granger has become tolerable with age. Of course, I’m sure the same has been said of
me often enough.
Hoping this finds you well and unharassed by my father,
Draco Malfoy
October 1st, 2005
Dear Marvin,
Draco Malfoy is the biggest prat on the face of the planet! I swear the ferret picks a fight with me at
least once a day because he enjoys the attention. Severus says I need to ignore him and that he
probably has some sort of crush on me left over from school. He’s gay, Marvin! I never knew, not that I care mind you, but
the bloody git knows that I’m going to marry Ginny
some day. Ron has been visiting him
quite a bit and they’re going out for drinks tonight. Ron asked MALFOY on a date and according to
Ron, Draco doesn’t seem to realize that he’s interested. Ha!
Malfoy not noticing that he’s getting attention is a ridiculous
notion. I just hope Ron doesn’t get
hurt, thought I suppose Draco is a better fixation than Severus. At least he’s gay. Severus is quite relieved.
Your Friend,
Harry
October 30th, 2005
Dear Harry,
Hello! I’m sorry that it’s been
so long since I’ve written, but October is midterm time and I had several
papers to write. Ginger refused to let
me do anything until they were perfected and after that she drills me for my
tests until she was blue in the face.
Watching Ginger and Lucius interact is highly amusing. He still hasn’t forgiven her for being immune
to his charm and she has confided in me that she takes quite a bit of pleasure
in watching the blond get all riled up.
Lucius told me the other day that she reminds him of Severus when they
were younger. I thought that was
interesting, of course, since they were Death Eaters when they were younger it
might have been an insult…
Justin and I have been indulging in playing X-Men Legends 2 the past
few days. He bought it nearly a month
ago, but he’s been waiting to try it out until his sister let me off my
leash. I think we need to get her a man,
but it might be a few months until I can swing it.
Hope you have a Happy
Halloween!
Marvin
November 15th, 2005
Dear Marvin,
Why do I sense another “project” coming on? While I still believe Project Ares was a
great success, let us not forget that the last time we messed with someone
people lost their bits, literally. I’ve
been a woman, Marv. I refuse to go
back. Just who are you thinking of
setting her up with anyway? Someone back
here? She’s an American you know and
just because her brother likes it here doesn’t mean that she will too. I hope you will choose to stay the whole
summer at Hogwarts before heading back into the muggle world. Dumbledore has been looking...sorry Marvin I
have to go. Seems that there’s been an
accident in Draco’s class. Don’t worry
everyone is okay.
Harry
November 29th, 2005
Dear Marvin,
I believe you recently celebrated the muggle/American holiday of
Thanksgiving. You have my
condolences. I’ve heard that it is
tradition to gorge oneself on turkey leading to a sleepy stupor. As your school term is nearing its close I
took the liberty of sending Lucius a letter instructing him to prepare for your
return to Hogwarts. I hope you will not
find your end of term exams too stressful.
I trust that Miss Krivdal will ensure that you study enough. Just remember that once you are through with
all the strain that this time of year brings you will have nearly an entire
month at Hogwarts to relax.
A for the concerns you expressed in your last letter, no Draco was not
sent out a window by an over exuberant Windgardium
Leviosa. A sixth year practicing the Aguamenti charm put a bit too much effort into it and
flooded the classroom. No one was
drowned unfortunately, and before you get upset with me I would have you know
that the sixth years have to be the worst batch of dunderheads and trouble
makers ever. And yes that includes
Potter’s year.
Good luck with your
exams.
Severus
December 13th, 2005
Dear Marvin,
I can not believe you! You’re
trying to set Ginger up with Snape? I
thought you liked her. Anyway, I took
some of what you said in your last letter to heart and I think you may be
right. It really doesn’t seem like Draco
realizes that Ron is falling for him.
Perhaps someone should enlighten him.
Poor Ron is just so happy that Draco wants to spend time with him that
he’s afraid to ruin it by expressing his interest. Has Draco said anything in his letters? It hasn’t escaped my notice that Nightshade
delivers him more mail than the rest of us at times. I’m not jealous. Draco is a high maintenance Drama Queen after
all. I imagine that he needs help even
more often than he asks for it.
But I should let you get back to your cramming. I can’t wait to see you this weekend!
Get O’s!
Harry
December 14th, 2005
Harry,
They’re A’s in America, Harry.
I can’t wait to see you too. Be
prepared to go shopping, because I need to get a few gifts from Diagon
Alley. I don’t want to give everyone
only muggle things.
Sleeplessly yours,
Marvin
January 25th, 2006
Dear Severus,
Well, I miss Hogwarts already.
You were right though, that month back with all of you really lifted my
spirits and reenergized me for the semester.
I can’t believe that I’m going to be graduating soon. I don’t know if I’m ready. I’ve been in school for so long I don’t know
what to think of the idea of being free.
On to more interesting things. May
I ask why you felt the need to glare at my escort the entire time I was
visiting? Did Lucius say something to
make you upset with Ginger? I assure you
that she hasn’t done anything to him that he didn’t have coming. Even Justin noticed that you were shooting
daggers at her. I wouldn’t pick a fight
with her if I was you. Especially if I’m not around with a silver platter to save you.
Hoping you are well,
Little Brother
February 12th, 2006
Dear Marvin,
I have no idea what you are talking about. I wasn’t glaring at anyone more than I
usually do. Keep your nose in you books
and let me know if auror Krivdal or Lucius give you too much trouble.
Missing you ever so
sightly,
Severus
February 13th, 2006
Dear Marv,
I have decided that I despise Valentine’s Day. I wanted to ask Ron to skiv off with me from
the dance Dumbledore has planned for tomorrow and slip down to the Three
Broomsticks for a Firewhiskey, but I think he has a date. A DATE!
I didn’t know he was seeing anyone.
Not that I care or anything, its just that
we’ve become good friends and isn’t that the sort of thing you tell good
friends?
Half of my female students having been swooning every time they see me
for the past week and I know if I go to that ridiculous ball something awful
will happen. I’m gay! I thought they had figured that out during
the argument Potter and I had just after start of term. You remember the one I told you about,
right? Well I suppose it wasn’t quite an
argument per se. It was when we were watching
Ron’s Quidditch lesson and we’re asked to help. Apparently, some of the students were under
the impression that I would never get on a broom stick for fear of mussing my
hair. Potter muttered something about
even blind fairies being able to fly. What
was that supposed to mean I ask you?
Your grateful friend,
Draco
February 16th, 2006
Dear Marvin,
Well, it finally happened. Ron
formally asked Draco out at the Valentine’s Day ball. The ferret didn’t even know what to say at
first! He looked like a suffocating
goldfish for a few minutes until Miss Mason, on of his seventh years, poked him
in the side. Oh, where was Collin when I
needed him? It was classic. They seem happy any way.
I have something important to tell you.
I asked Ginny to marry me while she was visiting for the ball and I
would like you to be one of my groomsmen.
I’ve asked Ron and Severus (yes you are reading this correctly) to also
stand by my side. I find that Severus
and I seem to get along rather well by commiserating over our mutual state of
missing you. The wedding will be at the
end of August so that Hermione can still take her trip and be back to stand as
Ginny’s Maid of Honor.
I hope you had a valentine this year.
Harry
February 27th, 2006
Dear Harry,
I’m very happy for you and I would be honored to stand up with you at
your wedding. Please give Ginny my
congratulations and let Draco and Ron know that I’m happy for them as well.
On another note. NO,
I did not have a valentine this year.
I’m afraid I don’t have time for things like that right now. And don’t get any ideas
about setting me up, that’s my department. Speaking of which, Project Aphrodite seems to
be coming along well if the way Severus was staring at Ginger over Christmas
dinner was any indication. Add to that
the fact that Severus makes a point to ask about her in each of his letters and
I’d say that I have a great chance of success!
The old snark is interested, he’s just trying
to deny it because he’s afraid she won’t go along, but she asks about him from
time to time as well.
Sincerely,
Marvin
March 25th, 2006
Dear Marvin,
I must say that if I find out that you were encouraging Draco to pursue
Weasley I may be forced to disown you.
That pair is truly sickening!
Watching them is like being forced to endure massive doses of
sugar. My teeth are beginning to
decay. I do hope that you are working
hard. I understand from the syllabus
that you sent me that you have a rather important paper that
you are writing. What did you
call it? An honors thesis? Yes, anyway, don’t be afraid to consult Miss
Krivdal for help and since you are
writing it on a historical topic, I’m certain you would be interested to know
that Lucius is a bit of a history buff.
Study hard!
Severus
April 19th, 2006
Dear Severus,
History buff! Ha! I was explaining to him the information I had
already gathered on Custer’s last stand and when I was all finished he looks me
right in the eye and says, “I was under the impression that the primitive
inhabitants of North America had no such thing as custard.” I am going to strangle the man.
If you’re wondering why I didn’t have Ginger to protect me, I’m afraid
I have some back news for you. Ginger
and Justin’s grandfather passed away a few days ago and they will be gone until
I am back at Hogwarts. They will join me
there after Lucius drops me off, but right now their mother needs them. Don’t worry, as
aggravating as I find the pompous man I still trust him to keep me safe, if
only to preserve his source of muggle information. Has he told you what he’s been doing to me
lately? The man has become obsessed with
The Matrix, a popular muggle movie series. He had to watch all three movies, plus a
supplemental film called The Animatrix.
He had to watch all the movie extras, play all the video games, and read
every article I could find him on the internet.
Just remember, when you come for my graduation
and the man is dressed in tight, white, leather it is NOT my fault. Blame Justin, he’s the one who told him about
it. Oh well, at least I talked him out
of breaking his arm so he could experience X-rays.
Your friend,
Marvin
April 25th, 3006
Marvin,
He was joking.
Severus
May 8th, 2006
Dear Harry,
I can’t believe its already time! I’m graduating in three days. I’m so nervous even though the hard part is
already over. The papers are written,
the tests are taken, and everyone else I know is busy getting drunk and having
bonfires. I’m just too busy getting
ready to come back to Hogwarts. I can’t
wait to be back with all of you. I have some space set up for you, Severus, Ron,
and Draco. Please feel free to bring
Ginny with if she doesn’t have to work.
If you aren’t able to arrive early, the ceremony begins at 1:00p.m. at the Rice Memorial Auditorium. I have seats reserved for you in the family
section under my name. There is room for
eight. I know there are only five of you
with Lucius, but I didn’t know if anyone else might want to see how we do
this.
I want you to know that it means a great deal to me that you will all
be here to celebrate this day with me. I
have never been as confident about my future as I am now that I have you and
Severus in my life. I feel balanced,
steady. I feel like I have family. Thank you.
I’ll see you in three
days.
Marvin
