A/N: I haven’t fully
hammered out the details on this one, but it will be a romance (awwww!) involving Hermione, Luscious Lucius, and Sexy
Severus…no slash but perhaps some provocative cuddling, lol. More descriptions will be added as I go
along.
I plan to have this go along with HBP and it may seem at
times a bit AU and OOC, but really: JKR
hasn’t really explored the characters
of Snape and Malfoy, so who can say that they wouldn’t act a certain way? Well, we know that Severus Snape wouldn’t be
caught dead in a karaoke bar, Lucius Malfoy wouldn’t be a closet TeleTubbies fan, and Hermione probably could care less
about snogging Prof. Slughorn,
lol.

Hermione Granger woke alone, stretching catlike in the huge
bed. She imagined the whole wizarding world must have gone to work already, and here
she was having a lie-in. Smiling to
herself, she dressed quickly and waved her wand at the bed – the green and
burgundy covers obediently straightened and tucked themselves in, the pillows
zooming back to their proper places. She
sighed as she noticed the clothing strewn in the side of the room and picked up
the two sets of wizard robes that had been discarded, sending them off to be
cleaned by Winky.
The house elf bobbed her head enthusiastically as she received her
directions – though initially hesitant about accepting a job from the founder
of S.P.E.W. after her drinking problem had rendered her unfit for service at
Hogwarts, she now adored her new mistress.
She hurried out of the room importantly, holding the rumpled robes aloft
as if they were a trophy to be displayed.
Hermione brushed her hair and walked into the dining area to
eat – she saw that Winky had prepared her an
excellent repast of eggs, fried chicken livers and mushrooms, thick slices of
toast with garlic butter dripping from them, and a large mug of tea. An owl swooped in and deposited a copy
of The
Daily Prophet in front of her, dipping its beak in the small bowl of
Galleons that was set aside just for the paper delivery. It hooted and took to the air again, the
window sealing itself behind the bird. She had spent a considerable amount of
time trying to Charm that window so she wouldn’t have to worry about having to
get up, open it, pay the owl, and then close it again. As she finished her breakfast and read the
paper, the flames in the fireplace suddenly turned bright green and she looked
up to see a small package popping out onto the hearth rug.
From out of nowhere, Winky shot
over to retrieve the package and take it to her mistress, who smiled and
thanked her kindly – the house elf trembled with joy and disappeared
again. Hermione unwrapped
it and saw that it was a Pensieve. “Oh… I had forgotten about this,” she said,
feeling the spell signatures that wove around the small basin and recognizing
exactly who had sent this to her. She
placed it on the table and bent over it, her forehead breaking the surface…she
was being pulled in….
She landed on her feet on the grass outside a small building
labeled “Madam Martina’s Magickal Academie”
and looked around. Children were running
and laughing into the brick building, some accompanied by harassed-looking
witches and wizards. A sign stretching
above the doors read “Parent’s Day” and had been bewitched to sparkle and
change colors. Looking around, she
spotted the source of the memory and hurried over to follow. She was led to a classroom and perched on a
desk to watch Madam Martina herself greet the children sweetly, patting a cheek
here and a head there; she then introduced herself to the room in general,
though most parents already knew who she was.
“What we’re going to do now is a little something we call “Show and
Tell,” and I hear that this is most popular with Muggle children as well,”
Martina said, smiling. “Who wants to go
first?” Hands shot up eagerly, one or
two children straining so hard to be noticed that they were on their toes. Hermione glanced around at the six-year olds
as Rupert Fortescue was chosen to introduce his
mother to the room and he informed them all that she
worked for Witch Weekly and had a pet
Pygmy Puff by the name of Banjeeters. The rest of the room clapped as a short woman
with a dark complexion came to stand beside young Rupert.
Madam Martina made her next selection, one which made
Hermione pay instant attention. “Oh now, let’s see….how about…Tamara
Granger? Come on up, sweetheart.” A tiny girl with long auburn hair and vivid
green eyes trotted to the front of the room proudly and began speaking.
“I brought my daddies with me today cuz
my mummy had to work. She says that I’m
special for having two daddies since she liked them both so much she couldn’t
pick just one. They’re both Sizzler- um,
Sil-ther…” a titter ran around the room as Madam
Martina leaned down and whispered the word to her “Slither-uns,
yeah. And they have pretty hair, Mummy
always says so! Nobody is ever mean to
them too cuz they are Deaf-ears, but they’re nice
ones.” Martina bent down again. “No, they’re Deaf-ears, Daddy Lu told me
so. If I’m real bad, Daddy Sev said he will give me a Dark Mark but he got in trouble
with Mummy for telling me one time and she heard him.”
The teacher smiled down at the obvious pride in the little
girl’s voice. “And where are
your…daddies, Tamara?” whispers abounded as the small child skipped over to two men
who had been standing in the back watching, and tugged them by their hands up
so the rest of the room could see them.
Both were tall, but there the resemblance ended. One had long black hair, pale skin, and a
lean frame currently draped in black robes; the other had blonde hair so pale
that it looked white, falling almost to his waist – his skin was lightly tanned
and stood in sharp relief to the dark blue robes he wore.
“These are my daddies,” little Tamara announced, beaming as
the other people clapped politely, the parents muttering to each other. Hermione’s heart swelled with love to see her
small daughter smile sweetly up at the two men; Tammy’s grin had always been
contagious and it proved so now, the wizards’ stern visages melting into loving
smiles at the tiny girl. Another name
was called and Tamara hauled on their hands to lead them into the hallway. “Can I come home with you now?” she asked
plaintively.
They knelt before her and the dark-haired man placed a pale
hand on her fiery curls. “We’ve got to
go to work now, love. But I’m sure Lucius
would like to come back and pick you up after school,” he said, glancing over
at the blonde, who smiled and touched the tip of one finger to her nose.
“Absolutely. What do you say, little one? Can you stand a few more hours with Madam
Martina until your old dad can come to get you?
Maybe we can even stop by and drop a dungbomb
outside Severus’ office,” he teased, earning a glare from the other man and
making Tamara giggle.
“I guess so. Hurry,
okay?” She flung herself into the arms
of first one wizard, then the other.
“But I don’t think Daddy Sev would like a dungbomb very much,” she informed Lucius solemnly, and the
wizard suppressed a grin. Tamara turned
and trotted back to the classroom, peeking back around the door at them with a
forlorn expression on her small face.
The two men each lifted a hand in farewell as they strode
out of the building. “Check under your
robes before you Disapparate,” Severus Snape said conversationally. “The last time I dropped her off she managed
to latch onto my leg - you know how light she is.”
Lucius Malfoy shook his long platinum hair out behind
him. “How long did it take you to figure
out she was with you?”
Severus shrugged.
“Not long – she screamed bloody murder as soon as I began concentrating
on where to go…you remember what it was like the first time…? Anyway, what time is her mother due home, she
didn’t tell me.”
Lucius raised his eyebrows, and Hermione smiled to see this
signal of upcoming teasing. “My, my… you
are out of favor these days, Severus
old boy. She told me that she’d be home late because of one of Shacklebolt’s
meetings. Perhaps she wants to trade you
in, get a younger model…”
The two men started bickering as the memory ended and
Hermione was once more standing beside the dining table with the Pensive in her
hands. She grinned. They were forever needling each other about
something or other, and though an outsider might think she was a fool for
forcing them together, the truth was that the two former Death Eaters were very
close friends. Theirs was an extremely
unorthodox family – she had received special dispensation from the Minister of
Magic that allowed her to wed not one, but both men…little Tammy had spoken
truly when she had said that her mother couldn’t choose between them. Like opposite sides of a
coin, they were, and no less beloved for it. If someone had told her right after the
events leading up to her seventh year at Hogwarts that she would fall in love
with the two Death Eaters and marry the pair of them to boot, she would have
institutionalized them on the spot.
Their daughter was no less a miracle, created by the strong love between
them all…she had wanted a child from them and had gone to great lengths to get
one. An intricate spell laid over all
three of them had created the sweet, brilliant little girl that they all
treasured – it had blended all of their finest qualities and a few of their not
so noteworthy ones. When roused, Tammy
could be a hellion of the first degree, a la Severus. She could be as unbelievably stuck up as
Lucius. Both men fervently agreed that
her adhesion to rules certainly did not come from them, and were sure that they had produced another Gryffindor to
annoy the world.
Her eyes went soft as she thought of her two wizards. They
had been waiting up for her when she arrived late the previous night, and
ensured that it was much longer before she got anything even slightly
resembling sleep. Merlin, what they had
done to her! By all rights, she shouldn’t be able to walk this morning. Winky reappeared to
take the Pensieve to the storeroom where the men
would go later to retrieve their memories.
Hermione wandered through the huge mansion, noting with pleasure how
clean everything was; their house elf had wasted no time in straightening the
place when she had first arrived, and took pride in keeping it pristine. The main color scheme was of green and
burgundy, with accents of silver and gold here and there – their House
colors. Another grin made its appearance
on Hermione’s face. Considered by many
in the wizarding world to be the “Ultimate
Gryffindor,” here she was married to two Slytherins who fairly resonated with
the qualities of their House; the pair of them were
sneaky, oft times deceitful, wily and cunning, but she adored them for it. Or maybe in spite of it. She could never keep track. Ah, well… it was time to head to the Ministry
offices for another thrilling day in Auror Central. Pulling on a set of lilac witches’ robes, she
tossed a handful of Floo powder in the grate and
stepped through.
Sure enough, there was a pile of file folders lying on her
desk, wobbling dangerously close to the edge.
She strongly suspected that Harry had managed to fob off his work again,
and had slid it in her in-tray along with Ron’s. Honestly, those two never changed! Still trying to get her to do their work for them..she toyed with the idea of
calling one or both of her husbands to ensure that it never happened
again. Tempting. As she caught sight of a tuft of ginger hair,
she made her decision and lifted her compact from her handbag, flipping it
open. “Lucius Malfoy. Severus Snape.” Now the red hair was joined by a few unruly
strands of black; they were listening.
She smiled at her reflection and continued her ruse. “Hello, boys…it seems as though two of my
co-workers- you remember Harry and Ron, don’t you, Lucius? And of course you do, Severus. Well,
they’ve been sneaking their work into my pile again…yes, that’s what I told
them last time! Oh, you two are the sweetest, you
really wouldn’t mind popping by to take care of them for me? Thank you, my darlings.” From the corner of her eye, she saw the pile
of folders be reduced by half as her former classmates reclaimed them.
She worked methodically through the pile, not paying
attention to the buzz of conversation around her cubicle. Finally she was finished, and leaned back in
her chair with a satisfied sigh…there was really not that much to do these
days, now that Voldemort was gone. Her
eyes fell on one of the photos on the desk – her wedding day. In it, she was smiling into the camera,
laughing when her two grooms leaned in to kiss both sides of her neck
playfully. They looked so handsome. She felt a smile begin to stretch her lips as
she stared at the picture, and she propped her chin on her fist as she remembered
how they had all come together in the first place…
