a/n originally i had planned for this to be a crack fic cause i was thinking about a few things that had happened to me when i was younger, however, it soon turned into like a drama cause i just cant write funny stuff! T_T it sucks so bad but no matter how hard i try it always turns into a drama *sigh* even in real life i can barely tell jokes, people only think I'm funny when I'm being serious which is so annoying....oh well, on with the drama.

"How could you possibly change your mind about this at the last minute? You know how I hate these ministry functions."
"Harry, I didn't change my mind the bastard got caught. As head of the auror division it is my duty and responsibility to attend these events."
"But if you were still chasing the guy you wouldn't have to go."
"That's correct."
"Well, just tell the minister that he had an accomplice or something."
"Harry, that is utterly ridiculous. I am not going to lie to get out of this party and as my spouse you are expected to come as well. I mean, bloody hell, Harry. Even if you weren't my bond mate as the Harry Potter, defeater of Voldemort, you are definitely expected to attend."
Harry sighs, running a hand through his messy black hair. "The defeat of Voldemort was over ten years ago, besides I'm not known for killing anymore, I'm known for healing."
"Yes, of course love."
Harry scowls at his husbands tone. "And I'm not even Harry Potter anymore, I'm Harry Shacklebolt."
Kingsley smiles at Harry before pulling Harry down on his lap, kissing the green eyed man on his cheek. Harry's expression remains the same and Kingsley laughs at the scowl still on his face.
"Come, Harry, smile for me." Harry scowl seems to grow in intensity and Kingsley laughs again, taking Harry's chin in his hand. "Now, Harry dear, are we going to do this the easy way, or the hard way."
"You know I hate it when you call me dear," Harry says, smacking Kingsley's hand away. "Besides, as you stated earlier, I am the Harry Potter, there is nothing I love more than doing something the hard way."
Kingsley smirks at Harry before wrapping his fingers in Harry's hair, pulling him down for a long, deep kiss. After a few minutes Harry pulls away from the kiss, panting harshly into Kingsley neck. Harry licks the side of Kingsley's neck, letting out a deep moan. "Merlin, Kingsley, I definitely love doing things the hard way."
Kingsley chuckles, giving Harry a quick peck on the lips before pulling back. "As much as I'd love to fuck you, Lily is to arrive back very soon so we don't have much time. Now, tell me Harry, what is your reluctance for attending this function really about?"
Harry sighs, running his fingers through his hair. "Kings, the party is tonight. I have absolutely nothing to wear. It is an all white party, am I correct?"
Kingsley nods his head and Harry sighs again. "Bloody hell, but I don't have any white robes. I didn't even wear white for our bonding ceremony."
"Yes, Harry. I remember you wearing silver, after all I was there."
Harry gives Kingsley a pinch, and with most of his body being pure muscle he's sure his husband doesn't even notice. "That silver was the result of too much company spent with Malfoy."
"Yes, I do remember the two of you being inseparable at the time."
Harry nods his head in agreement. "And with Draco a healer and all, I see him almost more than I see you."
Kingsley growls, pulling Harry down for a fierce kiss and when the kiss is finished Harry lips are red and swollen and his cheeks are flushed. "If Malfoy weren't so blatantly straight I'd think he has a thing for you."
Harry stares at Kingsley dazedly, absently licking his tender lips. "Lily."
Instantly Kingsley is looking around the room. "What? Is Lily back already?"
Harry shakes his head. "No. I mean, Lily doesn't have any white robes either."
"Of course not, Harry. What parent in their right mind would give a six year old white clothing?"
"Too true."
"Well, once Hermione brings Lily back I suppose you can go to Diagon Ally for some suitable robes."
"You know I hate shopping."
"I can't always do the shopping Harry."
"But you know my measurements!"
"I'm on lunch break, love. You know how Lily is when it involves either clothes or toys. An hour definitely isn't enough time."
"What about after--"
"I get of work? Hardly."
Harry sighs. "I knew getting you to do the shopping was a lost cause."
"Then why begin the process at all?"
"Because I'm Harry bloody Potter."
"You mean Harry bloody Shacklebolt."
Harry grins at Kingsley before they start making out again. The two of them kiss for a long time, that is, until it's interrupted by someone clearing their throat.
Harry lifts his head up. "Oh, hi Hermione."
Hermione grins at Harry and Kingsley, fanning her flushed cheeks furiously. "Whew, where's a camera when you need one?"
Harry returns the grin, hopping down from Kingsley's lap. "Where is Lily?"
"Oh, she should be here. She was flooing with--"
"Daddy!" Lily yells out, running up to Harry. Harry bends down, kissing Lily on the cheek before picking up his daughter, perching her slender frame on his hip.
"Ron," Hermione finishes lamely.
"Did you have fun staying over Uncle Ron's and Aunt's Mione's house?"
"Uh huh," begins Lily, smiling brightly at Harry. "Me and Rose got to make gingerbread houses with Grandma Weasley. We even got to make gingerbread people."
"Oh, really?" Kingsley asks. Lily beams down at her Papa before squirming out of Harry's arms. Quickly she climbs up Kingsley's lap, wrapping her arms around his thick neck.
"I ate you."
Kingsley raises an eyebrow at his daughter and she giggles. "I ate yours and Daddy's gingerbread person."
"I'm sure mine tasted much better than Daddy's."
"Hey!" Harry yells, hands on his hips as he scowls at Kingsley.
Lily giggles again. "Both of them were good. Papa's was bigger cause Papa's bigger than Daddy but Daddy's had chocolate for hair and that was good too."
"You could have given me chocolate hair," Kingsley says teasingly to Lilly.
Lily frowns at him. "Why, Papa? That's just being silly. You don't have any hair."
"Ah," says Kingsley, reaching up his hand to touch his bald head. "Right you are, pumpkin. You're Papa's smartest little girl. Do you know that, sweety?"
Lily frowns again. "But I'm your only little girl."
Kingsley smiles at his daughter before kissing her on the cheek. When Kingsley places Lily on her feet, raising himself out of the chair as well, Lily still looks confused. "I am your only little girl, right Papa? I don't have any brothers or sisters, not like Rose does."
"That's why your my smartest little girl, because you're my only one."
"Oh," Lily says, beaming a large smile at her Papa.
Harry just scowls at Kingsley. "Don't say stuff like that."
Kingsley laughs at Harry's serious tone before giving him a peck on the lips. "Ron and I should get going. Our lunch break is over in less than ten minutes."
"Yes it is," Ron says, chuckling at Kingsley and Harry. Even with the scowl on his face Ron can see that Harry is as madly in love with Kingsley, just as much as Ron is with Hermione. The banter between the two almost reminds Ron of the way his parents are.
"Have fun shopping," Kingsly calls to Harry as he and Ron step in the floo. "Ministry of Magic." Lily watches as her Papa and Uncle Ron disappear in a swirl of green smoke.
"Well, well, well," begins Hermione, placing her purse on the table.
"Don't start," Harry says, flopping himself down in the chair Kingsley had just evacuated.
Hermione giggles at Harry's haggard form before picking her purse back up. "All right then, Harry. I guess I'll just be leaving since you don't need my assistance shopping."
"Ooo," Lily squeals, jumping up and down. "Please please please come shopping with us. Please Aunt Mione! Daddy has horrible taste."
"Hey," Harry screeches indignantly.
Hermione and Lily just giggle together and Harry lets out a sigh of defeat. "Alright Hermione, here's the mission." Harry says, raising out of his chair. "Both Lily and I need white robes for this ministry party tonight. I would be honored if you would help me with the shopping, as that is not my forte."
Hermione grins at Harry before she reaches her hand out. Harry stares at her blankly and she clears her throat, raising her hand higher towards Harry's face. Harry grins, bowing over Hermione's hand as he kisses the back of her knuckles. "I would be most please, your Highness."
Hermione laughs at Harry's cheeky tone, swatting Harry playfully on the head. "Of course I'll help you with the shopping. If I let you shop alone it's no telling what you would buy."
"Oh, thanks Hermione. I knew you'd understand," Harry says sarcastically.
Hermione grins at Harry's tone before taking Lily's hand in her own. "Don't worry Harry, I'm doing it for Lily. I don't want my niece looking as bad as you usually do."
Harry scowls at Hermione and her and Lily just giggle together and Harry sighs again. "Fine, I'll take what I can get. Now lets floo to Diagon Alley before it gets too late. Who knows how long this shopping event is going to take."
Lily just laughs, taking Harry's and Hermione's hand in her own. They smile down at her as they lead her to the large fireplace and Lily grins in soon to be pleasure. Lily, like almost any girl, absolutely loves shopping. However, unlike any other girl, she doesn't have a mother, only two fathers and getting even one of them to agree to a shopping trip for anything but the bare necessities is very difficult.
When the trio arrives to Diagon Alley Lily can hardly keep still, she is so excited. Hermione smiles at Lily before laughing at Harry's look of pure dread.
Even with a slower pace so that Lily can keep up with the adults, it is naught but a few minutes before they arrive at Madame Malkin's Robes for all Occasions. Lily is practically squealing in undisguised pleasure and even though Harry absolutely dreads shopping it is worth it for the smile on his daughter's face. Hermione goes with Lily, helping her pick out a robe among the rows upon rows of dress robes. When Harry finds the men's section he just picks up the first white robe he sees, giving it to Madame Malkin so she can alter it to his measurements. Now that his shopping is over Harry grins, relaxing against one of the cushioned benches as he closes his eyes. He knows this is going to be a long wait.
"Harry!"
Harry jumps slightly at Hermione's tone as she invades his state of bliss. "What?" Harry asks, stretching out his folded legs.
Hermione just scowls at Harry before shoving a white robe in his face. "Is this what you picked out to wear for the ministry party?"
"Um, I'm not sure. If you got it off of the front counter then ya, that's it."
"Harry, this is absolutely unacceptable."
Harry frowns. "I don't understand, Hermione. It's white, isn't it? Besides, it doesn't matter what robe I pick out, I'm going to look like a ghost no matter what."
Hermione lets out a huge moan of frustration. "Men. I don't get what the big deal is anyway," mutters Hermione as she stalks off. Harry just shrugs, closing his eyes again as he waits for the minutes to go by.
After a short while Harry's sanctuary is invaded by Lily's excited form. "Daddy, Daddy," Lily squeals. Harry opens his eyes, and standing in front of him is Lily, twirling her form around in a white dress robe. "What do you think, Daddy? Isn't it pretty? Aunt Mione helped me pick it out."
Harry smiles at the delight on his daughter's face. "You look absolutely beautiful, darling. Like a princess."
Lily just beams a smile at her Dad as she twirls some more. Even if Harry is absolutely atrocious when it comes to shopping, clothes, and fashion, he has to admit that Lily looks like an angel. The robe wasn't as traditional as the ones people wore when Harry attended Hogwarts. Instead it was of the new fashion, which was greatly influenced by the increasing muggle population in wizarding London. The top of the robe was slim, like most robes were, but as the robe tapered down to Lily's waist it flared out slightly, and as Harry watched Lily twirl he could see some puffy stuff under the robes, keeping them in shape. Harry frowns at how much of Lily's legs are showing, though the back of the robe was ankle length like the usual ones. When Lily goes to the changing room Harry turns to Hermione.
"Hermione, what was that?"
Hermione raises an eyebrow at Harry. "What? Lily's robe?"
"That isn't a robe."
"Harry, it's how all the robes are being made these days."
"Why is it so short? Robes are suppose to cover your legs."
Hermione just laughs at the incredulous look on Harry's face. "She'll have on leggings, of course. Wizarding London isn't that progressive. All of these new robes come with leggings."
"Leggings?"
"They're like stockings, but not as itchy."
"Oh," Harry says. Hermione just laughs again. Harry scowls. "Well, it looks like a dress with a hood to me."
"Good, so you're not totally clueless. These new robes are based off of dresses. I guess witches got tired of looking like sack bags. I mean those traditional robes are so hideously bland!"
"Wow, Hermione. I never knew you were into all this um...girly stuff."
Hermione just glares at Harry. When Lily finally changes back into her regular robes the trio goes to the front counter, paying for the acquired clothing.
Hermione gives Harry a wicked grin and Harry raises an eyebrow at her. "What?" Harry asks.
"Oh, nothing," says Hermione as they stroll down Diagon Alley. When the three of them pass a toy store Lily squeals in delight.
"Oh, please Daddy, please! Can we go inside? Please, please, please...I'll be good, Daddy! I promise."
Harry just smiles at Lily, taking her hand as he leads her into the toy store. "Don't worry Lily, you already are good."
Lily grins at her Dad, and when they enter the toy store her whole body pulses with energy. Harry notices that most of the other children are practically running wild. "Go. Pick out a few toys, love."
"Yay," Lily squeals in delight. She jumps up and down in excitement before racing off down a isle full of other little witches. Harry and Hermione wait by the front counter as Lily looks through witch dolls and toy houses. When she finally picks out a toy she runs up to the counter, jumping up and down.
"Look, look," she squeals, holding the toy up in the air.
"Holy Merlin," the salesgirl says. She hurriedly runs from behind the counter, looking around frantically. "Where are your parents? Are you lost? Oh, Merlin, Mrs. Mosly! Ms. Mosly I can't find this child's parents!"
Lily frowns. "My Daddy is right there." Lily points to Harry.
"What?" the woman says, looking at Harry. "Oh, that's Harry Potter. I know that most young witches and wizards would love for their Dad to be Harry Potter but we really must be finding your real parents."
"Please take your hands off of my daughter," Harry growls as he stands beside the salesgirl.
"What?" the young woman stutters out. "Oh, my. Is this girl really your child?"
"Yes she is and I would be most happy if you would release her so that we can pay for our purchases and be on our way."
"Oh," the young woman says, flushing in mortification. "I hadn't realized that you adopted."
Harry growls again. Sometimes people pissed him off. Royally. "Though it isn't any of your business or your concern, I did not adopt my daughter, I had her."
"Oh, I hadn't realized," the young woman says dazedly as she takes a step back from Lily. Harry just grunts as he buys the witch doll for Lily, as well as a doll house and some doll clothes. As Harry leaves the toy store with Hermione and Lily he sighs with weariness. Sometimes he can't stand people. Either they would react like the salesgirl did, or they would stare at Harry and Lily in confusion. It wasn't too bad when Kingsley was with Harry, because most people would see the two of them, then look at Harry, and correctly assume that she was their child (well, wizarding folk anyway, not muggles). However, when Harry was traveling without Kingsley most people would look at Harry, then look at Lily, and be completely bewildered. The only thing that Lily had inherited from Harry was her eyes. Everything else was a mix of him and Kingsley and Harry believed most of Lily to be of Kingsley genes.
Lily's hair was a dark auburn red fluffy halo around her head. Harry usually let Lily wear her hair down or wrestled the stubborn hair into a ponytail. Kingsley usually jokes that Lily's hair came from Harry as Harry always has trouble with his unruly hair but Harry knows that if Kingsley grew out his hair it would be something like Lily's. Lily's skin tone was the exact middle of Harry's pale alabaster and Kingsley dark mahogany so she was a deep golden glow and truly Lily was radiant. The only problem was that when Harry went out alone no one believed Lily to be his and truthfully Harry was sick of it.
Harry was almost annoyed enough to go to Ritta Skitter and have her run a scoop on Lily as the daughter of the boy who lived, however Harry definitely didn't want to get Lily started down that road. Since the fall of Voldemort Harry stayed away from the press, so much so that few even knew of Harry's bonding with Kingsley, and even less of their child. Harry liked it that way, preferred it that way, but sometimes he just wished that the wizarding world would hurry up and get on the bandwagon.
When Harry arrives back to Potter Manor Lily runs to her room to
