  • Prologue: Uncovering the first of many lies

You know, a lot of people have debated over this, asking each other whether it is true or not. Can it really be so that a boy, nothing more than a baby, killed the darkest wizard that has ever walked on this earth? That he, because of his mother's sacrifice, came to be the Boy Who Lived, the only survivor of the killing curse?

That seems rather unlikely, do you not agree? Its unlikelihood has issued a lot of debates; are we safe now?, is he really gone?, can he return? and - most importantly of all of those questions – if he is to return, will the boy be able to save us again?

No, maybe the even more important question is; will he want to?

Maybe the questions are unnecessary. It is as they say; things that are unlikely are just that. Unlikely. Yet sometimes, the truth is even more unlikely.

And that, my darling, is how this story began to unfold.

    ~O~

"Will you keep him safe? Will you protect him, and keep my secret?" The first asked worriedly, the struggling bundle in his arms held closely to his heart.

"I promised I would, did I not?" The second asked back, holding her arms out to take the baby.

"Will this truly work then?" The first asked again, still holding the baby tightly in his arms. "I would never forgive myself if it did not work."

"We both know the risks at stake. You know you can trust me with him." The second said reassuringly, still holding her arms out.

"I do trust you. But this is something that is more important than me and my life. Will you really be able to protect him from Dumbledore, Lily?"

"You know I would give my life for him and you in a blink of an eye." She gave him a warm smile and took a step closer. "Give him to me. I will keep him safe."

"I know you will." he sighed and looked down at his baby, "Harry, this is for your protection. I love you. As does your father. He is just having trouble remembering, thanks to a certain someone. Never doubt our love for you though. I will come for you when it is safe again."

And with that, he handed the baby over to his best friend.

"You did the right thing, Severus." She smiled at him sadly and cooed at the baby in her arms, before lifting her wand towards her friend. "I'm sorry. Obliviate."

    ~O~

Harry blinked his eyes open, tiredly rubbing them as he sat up. He let his hand travel to the nightstand in search for his glasses. Finding what he was searching for, he put them on, before letting a yawn stretch his lips. Stretching the rest of his body as well, he groaned as his back cracked.

He sauntered out of his room, slowly walking down to the kitchen, where he proceeded to start cooking breakfast for his family. Though he hardly considered the Dursley's a part of his family. Grimacing at the rumble his stomach let out at seeing all the food; he knew he was not to get any of it.

Making an omelette, frying bacon, warming up the bread he baked two days ago and taking out the necessary things for a proper breakfast, his stomach ached at the picture. But as said, he was not to get any of it. Not after Hedwig had flown into the yard where he was working to give him a message, when Vernon had clearly said that the bird was to stay inside or far away. Harry could not help the fact that someone had tried to get in touch with him. He had yet to see the letter, as Vernon had ripped it out of his hand and shooed the poor owl away.

Either way, his punishment was no breakfast or lunch for two weeks. Dinner came first after all of his chores were completed, though meagre as it was. He hoped he was getting out of here fast this summer, the weeks he had already been here were enough to drive him insane, and it was closing in on his seventeenth birthday. In fact, it was only two days away. Not that he would get to celebrate it – certainly not at the Dursley's at least. As if he wanted to.

    ~O~

Black eyes opened as a ray of sunshine dared to shine on him. He groaned deeply. He preferred his dungeons. The darkness were consuming there, letting him enjoy his bed for much longer than this bright room did with its annoying windows that had the audacity to let the sun in before he was ready. Not that he ever was ready for it. Needless to say, Severus Snape was far from a morning person.

A chuckle came from beneath him, causing the chest he had been using as a pillow to rumble, conspiring with the sun to wake him up rudely. He elbowed the chest, getting a hiss and what was most likely a curse, though he did not understand that particular language. He smirked over his shoulder.

"It serves you right for being part of the most obnoxious plan of waking me up this early."

"I know you have a tendency to sleep long, and I did keep you up last night, but really, it's past noon." The man smirked at the poor Potion Professor. "It's time to wake up."

His reply was a glare, and a back turned towards him and the sun. He eyed the back mischievously, and lying down behind the other man, he let his morning needs rub against the other's backside. The snore that met his ears diminished that though, and with a sigh, the man got up and out of the bed. If Severus was that intent on sleeping longer, he would not disturb him.

    ~O~

"It's a boy, Severus, a boy! Can you believe it? We're parents!" The man who had spoken looked down at the miracle in his arms. A son. His husband had given him a son.

"I know. Remember, I did go through those long hours of labour, did I not? I do believe your broken hand the healer just healed should be enough to prove that. Unless you want a matching pair? No? Too bad. Now, give him to me." Severus smirked at his husband, taking their son into his arms. He smiled at his little boy.

"That hurt, you know." He heard his husband grumble.

"As if I didn't do worse to you during my pregnancy." Severus smirked at his personal dark lord, knowing he himself had acted more like one during his pregnancy. If only Dumbledore and the Order of the Chickens had seen how he had used Voldemort as his personal slave the past months, well, let's just say Voldemort would not be the one they feared. He turned to his son.

The beautiful baby looked up at him with a gaze that seemed to hold the knowledge of the world. He was captivated by the green eyes staring up at him. Maybe the boy would one day be the one to change the world? He had no doubts about that.

    "He's perfect, Sev."

"Don't call me that, Tom." Severus said indignantly though smiled slightly when he felt arms wrap around him. That was a moment he would always treasure, Severus knew that.

"So, what are we going to name our little boy?" Tom breathed into his neck, looking over his shoulder.

"I have always loved the name Harry." Severus smiled, stroking his son's cheek.

"Harry? That means Home Ruler, or just Ruler, if I remember correctly. Excellent choice, my darling." Tom smirked at the glare he received for calling him darling. "How about Lucas for middle name? Harry Lucas Snape-Riddle. What do you think of that name, baby?" Tom asked his son, who stared up at him confusedly.

"Tom, he can not be asked such a thing. He would agree to be called anything, he is just a baby, mere hours old." Severus said with a roll of his eyes.

"So you don't like the name?"

"Of course I do." Severus smirked. "It fits him perfectly."

"How silly your mommy is, isn't he? Isn't he?" Tom asked his son, who answered him with a yawn and by drifting off to sleep.

"Good boy, do not listen to your father. He is a very ignorant man at times. Good night, my Harry." Severus said, after glaring at his husband for calling him mommy, and kissed his son's forehead.

    ~O~

It was ten minutes until his seventeenth birthday. Harry looked at his watch, his stomach rumbling. He was so hungry. At least he would be able to get out of here as soon as he turned seventeen. There was not a thing that could stop him from walking out the door and never ever returning when midnight came.

It was two years ago that Voldemort was resurrected. That night in the graveyard, the night that still gave him chills to think about. It was the night Cedric had died, the day he had fought against the monster and just barely made it out of there alive. Only good thing was that he had gotten to see his parents, Lily and James. Though it was brief.

There was one thing that still baffled him though, when he was just about to turn and run, his mother had whispered something to him.

    "I'm sorry for everything."

What was she sorry about? For dying and leaving him with her family? Probably. If only he had Sirius to talk to. But the man had fallen behind the veil in his fifth year. And everyone had found out Voldemort was back. Or, they had finally decided to believe him.

Harry still thought it ridiculous that people feared the name. Then again, he had not grown up with the fear that the masses had chosen to imprint on their children. Heck, he had not even heard of him until he was eleven, and by that time he feared the wrath of his uncle more, as it was a more direct danger. Or so he thought, until he had to fight the stupid Dark Lord every single fucking year that he spent at what was supposed to be his sanctuary from the abuse at home. Though his sixth year had gone smoothly, and rather uneventful. He supposed Voldemort was planning, and that was even more unnerving than having to fight him. He spent the year worrying and dreading.

If it was one thing he hated Voldemort for, it was that he always managed to destroy his only safe place. His parents' murder did not bother him as much as it should, it was the very fact that his sanctuary had been disturbed that irked him the most, and made him want to kill the man. Or die trying. Either way, all he wanted was peace and quiet. Even if he had to die trying.

For neither can live while the other survives.

Frankly, he was at the point where he did not care anymore.

Just like that, midnight came, and with that, an excruciating pain he could have never imagined. He screamed.

    ~O~

On the other side of the country, the man with black eyes bolted up in bed, suppressed and long since forgotten memories exploding back into his mind.

He widened his eyes, realizing that all he had thought just hours ago were lies, implanted within him to destroy his world so many years ago.

"Harry…" He breathed out in shock.

"Harry? Why are you…" The Dark Lord asked his husband, and soon found himself staring into Severus' burning black eyes.

    "Look into my mind, Tom."

After having done so, and after having been flooded with old memories as well, triggered by watching his husbands', Tom growled deeply. He was going to kill Dumbledore with his bare hands. But first, they needed to get to their son. He looked at his husband.

"We need to prepare to get through the wards of the house." Tom said at last.

At the answering nod, they both left the bedroom and went to call for backup.

Little did they know that someone else had already gotten their hands on him.

A/N: I've been wanting to write a Harry/Fenrir story for ages. As well as a Severitus. So now I got them both. :)

This is not going to be an overly lengthy fic, maybe around 10-15 chapters. What did you think of the prologue? Fenrir comes in the next chapter. ;)

Please review, or rate if you don't have the time or simply don't know what to say. :)
