AN: So, like the summary says, this is a small side chapter from my Dramione story Bound. If you haven't read Bound (do it, doi it!), you might be a bit lost with the banter at the beginning.
“Oh, hello Ron.” Luna said brightly as he entered the ROR. Her bright silvery grey were eyes alight with happiness. “Were you not going with the others?”
“Um, no. I, uh, told them I’d, we’d stay here tonight. I mean, if that’s okay?” Ron cursed himself for a bumbling idiot. Why did he always end up so tongue tied around the soft spoken blonde?
“No, that’s perfect. It would be too noisy there anyway.” Luna shrugged and fiddled with the radish earring she was repairing.
“Well yea, that’s what I…wait, what?” Ron asked, alarm clear on his face.
Luna simply gave him a soft smile and patted the space next to her in the hammock. “You need to relax.”
“Not exactly easy, is it?” Ron mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
“No, I suppose not. Do you want to go to my room now?”
“What?” Ron squeaked.
Luna gave him a brilliant smile and patted his arm. “It’s okay you know. I won’t bite.”
Ron felt his face heat up even though he was sure half his blood had drained to his shoes in horror. Biting was a sore subject with him, having been witness to one to many vampire feedings. Still, Luna seemed so innocent and yet when she looked at him the way she was doing just then, he felt like she was a Siren. She was so calm and gentle, not like anyone he’d ever met before. To say the last year had been an eye opener would be like saying the Chudley Cannons were going to have a tough year.
It had all started with Lavender, his first true relationship. That harpy had wasted no time getting him into bed, practically pouncing on him their first night together. Their activities had successfully pushed the crushed look on Hermione’s face from his mind. He knew he’d hurt her but when he had a willing witch under him, it was hard to feel bad about anything. Lavender had quickly grated on his nerves though, jealously guarding him and calling him all sorts of stupid nicknames. She was everywhere and he could find no peace.
Then he’d been thrown for a loop. Hermione, whom he’d always held a secret torch for, was with Malfoy. Malfoy of all people! He’d been beyond angry, feeling quite betrayed in fact. He knew he’d behaved horribly though, calling her names she didn’t deserve but he couldn’t help it. His heart had crumbled into a million tiny pieces when he learned she would never be his and he wanted her to hurt too. He’d been set straight though, Snape’s girlfriend practically drooling over the aspect of ripping him limb from limb due to his harsh words. Even now he shuddered at the look in her eyes when they shifted from emerald green to glowing indigo, her fangs elongating, just begging to rip his throat open.
To add further insult to injury, it had been Malfoy who’d told him of Lavender’s infidelity. That cheating harlot had been two timing him with a Slytherin. He wasn’t sure which was worse, the fact that his girlfriend was cheating on him while he was unconscious in the hospital wing, or the fact that it was Malfoy who had given him the news. He had to hand it to the slimy git though, he was creative when he’d outed her. Even now, Lavender couldn’t look at him without turning red with embarrassment and a hint of fear.
He looked down at the blonde who was now playing idly with her butterbeer cap necklace. He’d merely tolerated her during Umbridge’s rein but he’d come to respect her after he saw her fight at the Ministry. She was just as fierce as Hermione but not nearly as bossy. Luna had a serene quality that seemed to sooth him and her quirks never failed to make him laugh. She’d been more subdued, grounded even, after they’d returned from the Ranch. Whatever Harmony had said to her, it had taken her head out of the clouds. She still had the same dreamy qualities, the same uncanny knack for knowing exactly what was going on. It was a nice balance that he couldn’t help but be attracted to.
That probably surprised him the most. If someone would have told him that he’d be falling for Looney Lovegood, he would have had a good laugh before he informed them they were barmy. Now, it didn’t seem so silly anymore. He’d made it his mission to study her since Easter. She really was quite pretty. Delicate bone structure, petite figure, feminine curves, and eyes that seemed wise for her years, she wasn’t classically beautiful but he couldn’t keep his eyes off her.
Their first kiss had been on the front porch of the ranch, no one but the horses to witness the event. It was like nothing he’d ever experienced before, soft and warm versus wet and sloppy. The moment their mouths met, it just felt…right. It wasn’t a heated tryst, some dirty thing that should be kept to broom closets and abandoned classrooms. It was slow, gentle, and so very arousing. He’d had to place a small glamour on his trousers so he could stand up without being embarrassed afterwards. Not that it had fooled Luna, but it made him feel better. The blonde had simply smiled at him, her eyes wide and innocent, before she kissed his cheek and wished him a good night.
Since then, he couldn’t get enough of her. He found excuses to be near her classrooms when they let out, offered to carry her books, even made himself go to the library just to hang out with her. Then school ended and chaos reigned. He’d been so certain Snape and Malfoy had turned on them and it infuriated him that Hermione still trusted them. It was Luna he’d written out his frustration to, careful not to name names but he knew she’d understand. Instead of siding with him though, she encouraged him to look closer into the situation. He’d ignored her advice and was kicking himself now. She was right. Enough things hadn’t added up and it all pointed to the fact that Snape and Malfoy were still playing the spy game.
His thoughts shifted full circle to the impending war. Halloween. Tomorrow. War. He was torn on the subject. Half of him was relieved that it was finally happening, no more tiptoeing around, no more small skirmishes, no more wondering. The other half of him was beyond terrified. He could very well take his last breaths tomorrow, as could his friends and family. He grimaced at that thought. Who would he lose tomorrow? It wasn’t a question of if, he knew. War was messy and no one was lucky enough to come out of one without losses. That lesson hit hardest when George’s ear had been hexed off. Sure, it was an accident, Snape’s curse missing its intended target but what if it had been just a bit further over? He’d have shared Moody’s fate. He shivered.
Luna wrapped her arms around his waist and laid her head on his chest. “It does no good to dwell in the past. We honor the dead but to settle on it just causes us to be rash.”
Ron sighed heavily. Somehow she always did that, said the exact thing that he needed to hear. He huffed good-naturedly and kissed her head, reveling in the feel of her warm body pressed against his. He knew what he wanted now. He wanted to make the most of tonight, to know that he’d had her just once before he walked to his doom. Not one word was spoken when Luna took his hand and tugged him to the door.
He quickly shifted into his animagus form and scampered under her cloak, nestling himself in a deep pocket. When he’d first learned his form, he was outraged. Harry was a cool stag, his sister was a horse, even Hermione and Malfoy’s hummingbird forms were useful, and here he was…a weasel. He was quite happy with his form now, a smaller animal that was able to navigate the rat holes in the castle and hide in pockets. Luna gave him a pat and then took out her wand, concentrating on bending the wards. Ron scoffed at that. The others seemed to do it effortlessly, a twitch of the fingers and they were invisible, even his sister could do it. It made him feel inadequate.
“They’re different.” Luna answered his silent turmoil. “I don’t think we want to be like them, not really.”
Ron grumbled at that. They had all that power and didn’t use it to the best of their advantage. What good was power if you couldn’t use it? It was wasted.
“I read this muggle comic once, about a boy who was bit by a spider.” Luna said softly and Ron couldn’t suppress a shudder. Spiders indeed. “It said that with great power comes great responsibility. I think I agree.”
Run mulled that over a moment. It made sense really. Hermione and Malfoy were always going on about their job being to protect everyone. Perhaps that was why they had it. But if their job was to protect everyone, what was his job?
“To do your part.” Luna whispered and looked both ways before running out into the hall. She held her wand up, constantly bending the wards so she could sneak Ron around. She darted across the hall and over to the stairwell, trying to run to Ravenclaw tower without getting caught by the Carrows. Before she could get too far, she hit something soft and stumbled.
“Miss Lovegood.” McGonagall said breathlessly and re-sheathed her wand. “What are you doing out at this time of night?”
“Going to my room.” Luna said softly, trying to shift her cloak back around. Ron had been horribly jostled and was now half hanging out of her robes.
“What is that?” McGonagall asked with a frown and pulled Luna’s cloak open. Her eyes widened when she saw the little red weasel struggling to get himself back inside her pocket.
“Isn’t he handsome?” Luna’s voice was dreamy.
McGonagall bit back a smile and nodded. “Continue on then. And Miss Lovegood, avoid the second staircase on the left.”
“Thank you professor.” Luna whispered and began walking quickly to the right staircase.
Ravenclaw tower seemed ages away but they finally arrived. Luna quickly answered the riddle and entered, running straight up the stairs to the girl’s dorms. When she got there, she ignored everyone else and drew her curtains, flicking her wand a dozen more times to afford them their privacy. No one thought this was strange because, well, Luna wasn’t nicknamed loony for nothing.
“Blimey.” Ron whispered when he’d returned to his human form. “I thought we were done for.”
Luna smiled. “She was proud of you for finding your form.”
“Really?” Ron asked in astonishment.
Luna nodded and put a sticking charm on the curtains so they couldn’t be drawn in the middle of the night. “She’s got a soft spot for you.”
“Huh.” Ron was chuffed that she’d noticed but his thoughts quickly scattered to the winds when he turned to see what Luna was doing. Somehow, the blonde had managed to completely disrobe when his back was turned. He felt himself harden painfully at the sight. High, firm breasts that were at least a handful, a tiny waist, and curvy hips made his mouth water. He wanted to taste every inch of her but he was afraid of hurting her.
Luna smiled. “It’ll be fine. Neither one of us are inexperienced.”
“Right.” Ron said, frowning.
He didn’t necessarily like it that someone had touched Luna like that but he couldn’t exactly say anything. He had been far from chaste. Breathing deeply to get a hold of himself, he slowly kneeled on the bed and crawled across to her. He ran his hands up her sides, trying to take it slow and savor it. They had all night. There was no need to rush.
He leaned in and ran his lips over her flat abdomen, planting soft kisses on her creamy white skin. Luna gasped and ran her fingers in his shaggy hair, scratching at his scalp and humming her approval. Working slowly, he kissed up her stomach and in between her breasts while running his hands up and down her back. She was so soft, so warm and pliant, he was sure he was fixing to drown in her and he gladly welcomed it.
Gentle pressure on his scalp told him exactly what Luna wanted. He wasn’t going to give in quite that easily though. Kisses were bestowed on her breasts, working from just outside them, trailing underneath them, and then spiraling toward the center before he finally took a pale pink nipple in his mouth and worried it with his lips and tongue, alternately sucking and licking it. She purred like a kitten, only protesting for a moment when he switched breasts to even out his attention. He jumped when one of her hands clutched his and brought it to her other breast. That request was fulfilled immediately, his large callused hands pinching, plucking, and kneading the tender pebbled flesh.
She started trembling against him and he pulled her further onto the bed, not wanting her to fall. He tugged her up so her head rested on her pillow, dirty blond hair spread wildly around her head like a halo. Her eyes were at half-mast and dazed with pleasure. His breath caught in his throat. She looked like an angel and she was all his, if only for the night.
Luna chuckled softly. “I’m not planning on going anywhere.”
Ron gave her a brilliant smile, happy that she’d eased his worries. He was afraid that after he’d had her once, he wouldn’t want to let her go. He leaned down to take her lips in a gentle kiss, caressing the petal soft pillows with his mouth. He tapped his tongue to her lips, politely asking permission to taste her. She complied easily, moaning into his mouth as she ran her hands though his hair.
They kissed until they had to separate for air. Her soft smile spurred him on as he kissed and nibbled the sensitive flesh on her jaw, under her ear, the juncture of her neck and shoulder, and further still, seeking out every tender spot he could. He made good on his wish, tasting every inch of her he could reach and rolling her over so he could continue his quest down her spine.
Luna said something that was muffled by the pillow. Curious, he brushed her hair out of the way so he could tell what it was. That was when she struck. She swept his knees out from under him and rolled him over on the bed, grinning happily at her newfound position.
“Hey, what gives?” Ron asked in shock.
“My turn.” She whispered and divested him of his clothes with a flick of her wand. “That’s better.” She took the same path he did, kissing her way down his neck and chest to his hips. She carefully avoided the area he most longed for her to touch, instead smoothing her hands down his legs and massaging his feet. He felt an arc of pleasure shoot straight to his groin when she hit a certain part.
Ron groaned. “How are you doing that?”
“Many people overlook the erogenous zones in the feet. In some ways, a foot massage is better than getting head.”
Ron’s mouth dropped open in shock. He couldn’t believe those words had just come out of innocent Luna. Then again, she wasn’t acting very innocent at all. She proved it when she hit another spot that make his back arch and ripped a growl from him. If she kept this up, he wasn’t going to last very long. As if hearing his thoughts, she moved back up and straddled him. She leaned forward, taking his lips in a tender kiss before he felt her lowering down on him.
“Merlin.” Ron hissed, clamping his eyes shut to try and keep himself in check as he was surrounded by the tightest pussy he’d ever felt. Butterfly kisses on his eyelids made them fly open. A sea of bright grey waited for him; the look in her eyes was of pure happiness and dare he say it, love. He got lost in them, his heart skipping a beat. It felt like…coming home, the warmth and good feelings that had always settled in his stomach when he’d walked into the Burrow. Maybe he’d found it…his home.
Luna whirled her hips and made his eyes roll up in his head. It was too much. It felt like he was dying slowly and he wanted, no needed more. He brought his hands up to her breasts, massaging and teasing her nipples as she moved sensuously over him. His hands moved further down to guide her hips into a faster rhythm that made them both moan loudly. He was thankful for her quick study in privacy charms now.
They lost track of time, trying desperately to become part of one another for just one night. He supposed that even the unphasable Luna needed to lose herself once in a while. After a few minutes, or hours, could have been days for all he cared, Luna arched her back and came apart. Her insides fluttered against him, squeezing his orgasm from him.
Completely sated, she fell forwards onto his chest. He gently pulled out and rolled her off to the side, nestling her in the crook of his arm. It was then he realized just how tiny Luna was. He’d never noticed it before, not really. Her personality made her seem larger than life. Now though, with her head tucked under his chin and her shapely leg draped over his thighs, she felt small, fragile. He vowed then and there to make sure to keep an eye on her. He wasn’t delusional. She could kick his arse in a duel. In fact, she’d done it more than once but he still felt protective over her.
Luna hummed. “It’s a nice thought.” She whispered. “I think I like it.”
He craned his neck so he could look at her face. “Really? I thought you’d hate it.”
“No. It’s nice to be looked after.” She sighed. “That’s why she finally fell for him you know.”
“Who?”
“Hermione. Draco’s very protective. It makes her feel loved, even if it aggravates her at times.”
“So you’d like me to protect you?”
Luna nodded, jostling him a bit. “We’ll protect each other.”
“Sounds fine.” Ron laughed and flipped her over, kissing her fiercely. She writhed underneath him as he ran his hands over her body, more roughly than before. He felt almost desperate to be back inside her, his cock filling rapidly.
This time, there was nothing slow and languid about it. It was fast, rough, ending much too soon before they both went over again. They laid there in silence for a while, neither one able to sleep. Thoughts whirled in Ron’s head. What would happen the next day? Would they win? Who would they be burying? Would it be him? Would it be Luna? His heart constricted at the thought.
“Relax.” Luna said, bringing her hand up to tousle his hair. “We have tonight. For now, it’s enough.”
He pulled her on top of him again, kissing her forehead as he thought about it. It was enough. It really was.
