  Alyssa took her time as she slowly walked around the headmaster’s office, stopping here and there along the way to take a closer look at something that had caught her attention.  She had just taken her seat in front of the headmaster’s desk when his office door opened to admit not only the headmaster but her father as well.

  She was about to stand again when her father told her to stay seated and took the a seat in the chair opposite hers in front of the desk.  She watched as Dumbledore took his own seat and gave her a smile.

  “Welcome to Hogwarts my dear.  I’m sorry to keep you waiting but your father and I had a few things to discuses with me. I hope we didn’t keep you waiting long.”

  “No sir.”  she assured them both as she looked from one to the other.  She could tell that her dad wasn’t to happy about her being here.  Heck, he had even vetoed this very idea when she had owled him about it after she had gotten her grand parents to say yes.

  ‘Chalk it up to being just like you dad.’ she thought to herself with a smile as she settled back in in her chair and waited to see what they had to say.

  Severus couldn’t believe that the headmaster or Alyssa’s grandparent’s had agreed to this.  His daughter being here was not a good idea.  The dark lord would love nothing better than to have something like this to hang over  his head.  He would use the girl like he did everything else to get what he wanted.  Thats why after Corine had died he had let the child’s grand parents raise her in America.  At least there she had a little protection.  But now even that was gone.

  There was nothing he could do about it now.  She was here and from the looks of both Dumbledore and his daughter, here was where she was going to stay.

  “Fine.” he growled as he stood from his chair and paced the room.  “Fine, let her stay.  She’s here now anyway.  No since in trying to send her home, she wouldn’t go.” he snapped before stopping his pacing and stalking from the room.

  “Well that went rather well.”  she told the headmaster with a smile as she watched her dad’s dramatic exit.  

  “Indeed.”  Dumbledore agreed as he too stood from his seat and came to stand by her side.  “The Welcoming feast is about to begin my dear, shall we go and get you situated?  I’m sure your father will come around.  He only want’s what’s best for you after all.”

  Alyssa knew the headmaster was right so she didn’t say anything.  She merely stood and followed him out of his office and down the stairs to the great hall were he asked her to wait as he followed another professor into the hall and began the sorting.
