Lilly Lupin checked herself in the mirror looking down at the Muggle clothes she was wearing behind her trunk was packed. She looked over her room and then back to herself making sure her hair was just right before she turned and called to her father “Daddy! I’m ready to go now.” She was like almost every girl her age in that she was going away to school for the year, she wasn’t the same as every kid though. She had a broom instead of a tennis racket. She wore and robe over her uniform instead of a coat. These were a few of the differences between her and most kids her age.
Her father entered the room after knocking and took her trunk down stairs “Let’s be going” he said kissing her on the cheek. She turned around and grabbed her magic calendar and stuffed it in her bag before following her father out of the house. After an hour of traveling she found herself boarding the train walking down the cars pulling her trunk behind her she glanced in a car that only had two boys in it. One was in her house and the other was in Slytherin so she moved on. They were brothers and didn’t get too see much of one another during the year. She found a car and sat down to chat with a few of the students.
In the car with the two boys there was an interesting conversation “What about Granger? She’d fill the role nicely,” The one in the Slytherin colours asked
“No, she’s too much in the limelight.” he said “And has nothing to hide, everyone knows all her secrets.”
“What about her?” asked Lang, the boy in Gryffindor.
Card the older Slytherin brother stood up and moved towards the window, looking her up and down “I think she will do nicely.” he said eyeing her legs “What do we know about her?”
As his brother returned to his seat, Lang spoke “Not much” he said “Her name is Lilly, and she is going in to her sixth year, she’s not so good with magic” he paused “Not to say she couldn’t curse us, but she’s better at potions and flying than she is at spells” Lang finished.
“Had your eye on her for a while?” Card ribbed his brother, “How do you want to play this?” he asked “Do you know anything she might not want anyone else to know?”
Lang shook his head. “Not that I know of.” he said “But that’s why it’s called a secret.”
Card nodded “Alright,” he said “Keep an eye on her when you can and I’ll do the same. Try to have a list at the end of the month.”
Lilly in fact did have a secret, one she wanted to keep to herself. She had a magic calendar just for herself so that she could be reminded of what would happen every month. But Lilly didn’t like to think about that so she pushed it out of her mind as the train pulled in to Hogsmeade. She got up and left all of her things behind and got in to a car heading up towards Hogwarts. She sat and enjoyed the welcome feast with the rest of the school and looked up at the table when professor Dumbledore stood up to make his usual yearly speech. Part way through it he was interrupted by the arrival of the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, he was introduced as Alastor Moody. Lilly watched as Harry and Ron put their heads together to speak. Her attention was drawn back to Dumbledore when he resumed speaking “It is my pleasure to inform you all that the Triwizard tournament will be taking place here at Hogwarts this year”. Lilly gasped in surprise at this news and then giggled when she heard Fred Weasley exclaimed that Dumbledore was joking. With that Dumbledore waved his hands dismissively “Bed then, off you go!” he said sitting back down to watch as the students filed out the door towards their respective dorms
Lilly followed the group of students up to their rooms and undressed slipping in to her night dress and in to the warm bed. Looking forwards to living in one place for the next few months.
