365 Days (1 year)
A year after Voldemort won the battle of Hogwarts, by killing Harry, life has not been the same. Some survivors suffer a fate worse than death. For all who were mad that J.K. killed your favorites. Here's an alternate universe where they live:
Major changes to begin with: Harry didn't see Remus or Sirius before going into the forest. I decided to use the movie for the details on the Malfoys, but the book for others, so this will be a mash-up of the two and I'm not going to keep apologizing for that. You have been warned. If you are a book fanatic, or have only seen the movies, and can't deal with it, back out and enjoy another story. Thank you.
Warnings include: M/M, F/M, Preg, Abuse, BM, Tort, NonCons, Slave, D/s, CBT, Oral, H/C, Anal, Bigotry, Abortion, Voyeurism, MCD, Scat, WS, Eugenics, and others that may be added at a later chapter.
Finally decided on Harry/Snape, so I can post this chappie. Yeah! But, my outline doesn't get to the Sevvie/Harry goodness for quite a few chapters. Sorry :(
Chapter One: After The Battle
The eerily silent Platform 9 ¾, that followed the retreat of Dumbledore, closed in around Harry and he felt a wave of claustrophobia. He started walking, not caring which direction he chose, but just wanting to get as far away from the white washed version of the train station as he could. He walked for so long that he could no longer see the walls and tracks, in fact, he was not inside any longer. He trudged through a marsh that saturated his feet and legs, bogged down his shoes and kept him from making swift progress.
That was the easy part, too. The desert that followed, with long flowing dunes and blazing sun, and the glacier were even worse.
Harry walked for days it seemed. He could hardly tell time, since the suns and moons of this place were inconsistent to his memory of real earth. He walked until he was tired, which wasn’t too soon, and then he rested. He got up and walked when he was ready and kept on. He had to figure out how to get back to Hogwarts, to get back and defeat the Dark Lord.
Severus lay on the dirty floor of the shrieking shack and waited for his end. He welcomed death, the release from his life of torment and abuse. He wanted to join Lily, even if he had to share her with Potter in the after life, it was better than remaining here alone. He had done his duty, even sending Lily’s son to his death at the hands of his Lord, on the command of his other master. He would tell her what had happened and maybe they would confront Albus in the world behind the veil.
Just as he was about to breathe his last, when he could feel the snake’s poison reaching his arteries and heading for his heart, the air around him shimmered and coalesced into the form of He-who-must-not-be-named.
Voldemort knelt beside him and pulled something out of his robes. He pressed it to Severus‘ lips and forced it down his throat. This he followed with a vial of potion the potions master recognized as a blood replenishing one, and another that had a more sinister use. These went into his body and forced him to live, and to do so in a way that made his previous torment seem like a vacation.
“You didn’t think I was going to abandon you, did you? I’ve defeated you, so I am now the Master of the wand, and you are my slave. Now, you won’t be doing any spying on me. You are mine, completely. Get up, Severus. Get up and come with me. We have a war to win, and then we can celebrate.” The Dark Lord stood up, moved away and watched the man obey his commands. His laughter echoed in the ears of those who were within hearing distance and sent shivers up their spines.
Remus lay in his own blood, his hand holding onto his wife’s as he watched her fading away. Her body was broken, twisted in a way that hurt him to see, and her eyes were becoming glassy. He was glad that she would go first, so she would not be forced to watch him die. It was a blessing of sorts.
As he lost consciousness, he heard the sound of apparation and smelled the perfume of their home, a blend of lilacs and narcissus that Andromeda made herself in her potions lab. It was a good way to die.
He did not see the woman, his mother-in-law, as she appeared behind the rubble of the wall that had been blasted by the Lestrange brothers, nor did he see the old elf that held her hand and waved away the debris that separated her from her family. He lost consciousness before he could call out, and did not see the woman apparate away with his wife.
Voldemort was angry that the boy’s body had reacted to the wand that way. It was supposed to kill him without any sign of how he died, not shatter the boy like a china vase, spreading shards of him throughout the forest. He had nothing to show, other than the broken holly wand, that he had indeed killed the boy-who-lived, so his plans to carry him into the battle and interrupt the fighting by deflating the combatants with this sight, were off the table. He took the wand, waved his followers on, and continued toward the castle.
Neville saw the Dark Lord arrive, tossing off would be interference with a casual wave of his hand, and he hurried to the castle doors. There, with the other Gryffindors, and a few Ravenclaws, he would make his last stand. He was not the coward his family believed and he would prove it today.
Draco stood nearby, behind a statue that was now leaning against the wall, and he watched the hoard of death eaters arrive. He was tired, bone weary and confused. Harry Potter had saved his life. His and Goyle’s, and now he was supposed to fight against the Chosen-one with a man who had tormented him and his family for most of the last year. He did not know how he would be able to do it.
When the Dark Lord entered the courtyard, stood in the forefront of his followers and announced the death of the boy wonder, as if it was a cause for rejoicing, his stomach tied up in knots and his arms went numb. He heard his parents calling, their voices hoarse whispers, and he edged into the clear. He walked the distance like an golem, trudging with heavy steps across the broken cobblestones and over the bits of broken walls. When he reached his Lord, he bowed stiffly and let the man touch his shoulder, lifting his face to the eager stare that meant Voldemort was using Legilimency. His internal blocks went up automatically and he pushed forward thoughts of obedience and gratitude. It seemed to appease the madman, and he patted the blond’s shoulder before shoving him toward his parents.
It was the way that one survived in this twisted world, and every Slytherin knew it, at the basest level. He followed his parents, as they quietly moved to the rear of the advancing fighters, and slowly they slipped away before almost anyone noticed them. With the help of the remaining Malfoy house elves, they made their get away, loosing three of the five as spells were cast their way by the two snatchers who happened to look to the forest before they could apparate to safety.
The battle raged on, but not for long since the freedom fighters had suffered a mortal wound with Harry’s death. In time, they were either killed or captured, taken away and put into various cells to await the pleasure of the Dark Lord. The victors celebrated, ate and drank, laughed and cheered, and then they rested.
Voldemort ordered a cessation of hostilities until he could assess his gains, catalog his plunder and plan his next move. The people of muggle London were safe, for now. But, the muggleborn witches and wizards, the various Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws, even a few Slytherins that had failed to chose his side in time, were not so lucky. The Dark Lord had some Dark Ideas about how to deal with his enemies and he would begin on the morning after the worst battle in wizarding history.
