A/n I know that I have other stories. I have some writers block on those so I hope this makes up for it. This is an old story I started a long time ago and once posted but was lost. The only difference I revamped it so to speek so I hope you all like it.The first four chapters are short and chapter 5 and up will be longer promise. Please comment.
A few days before school starts first year
Hermione Jane Granger is so excited her Hogwarts letter had arrived a bout a week ago. She always had known she had, had these talents but she didn’t realize that it had been anything special enough to have received a letter from Hogwarts. Yes, she may be muggle but she had stumbled over the history of Hogwarts as well as history of the Wizarding world when she was looking for a new library to go to. And she found this old looking one in London that most seemed not to notice. But she always had seen detail most had over looked. And she saw this library and some people wearing long capes and flowing robes had gone in and she did too.
She was looking for new reading material and the name Hogwarts jumped out at her she had thought it peculiar so she picked up this rather thick, old and a bit worn book. Hermione was ignoring those glances at her. Some were looking at her strangely and others seemed unbothered or even happy she was there. So she found this plush chair in a corner and opened the book and began to read.
“"Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago - the precise date is uncertain - by the four greatest wizards of the age. The four school houses are named after them: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin.
They built this castle together, far from prying Muggle eyes, for it was an age when magic was feared by common people and witches and wizards suffered much persecution. For a few years, the founders worked in harmony together, seeking out youngsters who showed signs of magic and bringing them up to the castle to be educated. But then disagreements sprang up between them. A rift began to grow between Slytherin and the others. Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts. He believed that magical learning should be kept within all-magic families.
He disliked taking students of Muggle parentage, believing them to be untrustworthy. After a while, there was a serious argument on the subject between Slytherin and Gryffindor, and Slytherin left the school.
Reliable historical sources tell us this much, but these honest facts have been obscured by the fanciful legend of the Chamber of Secrets. The story goes that Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in the castle, of which the others knew nothing. Slytherin, according to the legend, sealed the Chamber of Secrets so that none would be able to open it until his own true heir arrived at the school.”
She was soon lost in a world that she never thought existed. And she didn’t realize that time was ticking by. She was still reading and absorbing all this information as she did with all information that she came across. And she recorded it so she can go back into her memory banks and she would be able to call back on it at will.
“Hello, what you reading.” A voice called out to her breaking into her thoughts breaking her concentration. She looked up and saw a flash of gray and she was absorbed into the boy’s eyes. “ Umm.. the history of Hogwarts…” she said shyly. “ You know Hogwarts doesn’t start for quite a few weeks so why are you already studying?” he asked her incredulous. “ Umm.. I was curious.” She said her cheeks turning slightly pink. “ It’s ok, I hear Hogwarts is a great place, my family has been accepted and attending Hogwarts for years. And I’m waiting on my letter, My father is angry that its taking so long to come. His acceptance letter came during the third week of summer holiday and in three weeks summer will over an mine hasn’t came yet.”
“ I’m sure yours will.” The boy laughed, “yeah I’m sure it will most likely because of my bloodline alone.” Hermione nodded but she was lost at the mention of blood. “ How about you have you received your letter yet?” Oh great this boy thinks im just like him will he hate me if im not? She thought.
“ No. Im not sure it will.. cause you see.. Im not.. uhh..” She stammered not sure how to tell this boy that she wasn’t like him that she was an ordinary person that had wondered into his mystical world. “ Oh..,” He interrupted, “ You’re a muggle.” At her look of confusion he continued by saying, “ That’s what we call non-magical folk. Wow I’m surprised you found this place, most places like this are under charms to make muggles think there is nothing of interest here.”
“ I have always been able to spot things and detail that most people miss.”
And that started a friendship with a wizard boy who became her best friend. And over the course of the next week. On Saturday, of the following week they both had gotten their acceptance letters. And excited they both decided to meet at Diagon Alley.
The morning of the first day at Hogwarts
“ Hermione, Hermione dear its time to wake up.” Hermione snaps open her eyes and bolts out of bed. And rushes to get dressed. Her mother chuckles. “ Excited Hermione?” Hermione simply grins and that was enough. And her mother lets her be while preparing a breakfast her daughter could eat on the run. Cause knowing her daughter she would not want to waste any time, she will want to go to the train station right away. Her daughter was always excited about school. But she had the slightest suspicion that some of her daughter’s excitement was because her daughters little friend was attending the same school.
“Mum! I’m ready to go.” Mrs. Granger chuckles again. “ I’ll get Walter.”
