Section I: Shiloe Origins and Heredity
The Shiloe is unique among magical creatures in that they are not born, but MADE, and also in that they are a separate entity from the Witch/Wizard (or Host) that Manifests the Shiloe.
A Shiloe comes into being in a magical child that has been made to suffer times of harsh, but non-sexual, physical abuse interspersed with periods of proper care.
They can be felt physically while they are aware but dormant only by the Host, and also can be heard as a voice within the Host's mind that communicates with the Host and offers input and advice, and can even become a close friend and confidant to the Host.
The Shiloe has two stages to their Manifestation. The first stage is "Signs." In this stage, the Host begins noticing the signs of their Shiloe's existence. They may be able to deny it for some time before they accept it, but acceptance is inevitable.
The second stage is "Manifestation." In this stage, the Shiloe begins to have active periods and begins to search out that which it needs, leaving the Host with holes in their memory similar to the effects of a memory charm, denying them memory of what Shiloe was doing while active.
A Shiloe can Manifest at any age between six and nineteen, but the first signs will always appear to the host of the Shiloe on their birthday, usually in the late afternoon or early evening.
The Shiloe itself is not hereditary, but abuse can become a cycle, so proper care must be taken.

Section II: Shiloe Overview
The Shiloe, like many magical creatures, takes nourishment from sex and blood instead of food. It can eat, but does not require the food, and indeed, usually only eats for the pleasure of taste.
Shiloe are very secretive, and they do not trust easily.
They start off their lives with several "anchors" that ground the Shiloe's power and help it maintain mental shields. A single Shiloe usually has from six to twelve anchors.
The anchor-Shiloe bond always becomes sexual, so even the youngest Shiloe, if virgin, is urged to lose their virginity to the gender they prefer before the Shiloe begins its active periods, or they will never remember their first time.
Although rare, there have been reports of Shiloe having different sexual orientation than their Hosts. It is unclear how this is handled.
At the age of twenty, they form mating bonds with up to three of their anchors.
Shiloe can both become pregnant and impregnate their anchors and mates.
There are no submissive or Dominant features in Shiloe.

Section III: Abilities and Physical Changes
The Shiloe has many abilities, but the Host does not get to partake in most of them, unless the Shiloe grants it and guides the use.
The Shiloe can converse with many animals, including phoenixes, badgers, birds, serpents, thestrals, both big and small cats, and even transformed werewolves.
They can control and even create weather conditions at will, and with apparent ease.
The Shiloe is always highly empathic, this being one of the reasons for the anchors.
They can sense other magical creatures and sometimes know on instinct what they are.
They are able to see magic and magical bonds between people.
They have enhanced senses, and this is the only ability that reflects in the Host, in that they lose any deficits they had in senses, bringing them up to perfect standards for Wizards after Shiloe's first Manifestation.
The physical changes are the only part of Shiloe that the creature and Host share without exception. Fangs are always present, though retractable, and only Shiloe can call them at will. In females, there is usually some weight change, either gained or lost, to bring them to their ideal weight for bearing young. In males, they gain the ability to bear young, but do not get the extra preparation. Males usually experience some softening of the features.

Section IV: Natural Enemies:
The Shiloe has few natural enemies, the most notable being Indago, since the Shiloe can communicate and usually associates with transformed werewolves.
Unicorns and Shiloe are known to avoid each other, since as a sexual-oriented being, Shiloe is the antithesis of the Unicorn.

Section V: The Social Shiloe
The first time Shiloe Manifests, it will be for one to two months of solid time, to allow Shiloe to become fully accustomed to the body and to locate as many of their anchors as possible, as well as to get to know them. Afterward, it will be at seemingly random intervals, and for different lengths of time.
Shiloe will usually form a pack, consisting of their anchors, family members by blood and those that have been adopted as such, and their closest friends, usually including some of the Host's loved ones as well.
Shiloe considers all non-pack members, no matter how close they may be with the Host, to be "outsiders." Shiloe does not trust outsiders. They can be terse to the point of hostility in response to gentle prying, and will defend their privacy violently if pushed.
This is the reason so little information is available regarding them, and why we can only hope that someday someone with a firsthand view will leave an accounting behind for us.
Shiloe is fully aware that to give people any knowledge of what is important to them is to let others know where to strike to hurt them most. Knowing that, they usually will not act any differently toward their anchors in public than their Host does, but will find small, unobtrusive ways to indicate to their anchor that Shiloe is in control, and they are loved.
When Shiloe is in control, they will usually seclude themselves, visiting their anchors when they will not be caught. It is unknown what Shiloe does with their personal time.

Section VI: Shiloe Bonds
Shiloe can see magical bonds of all types, and they are known to form four different types of bonds.
Anchor bonds are bonds between the magical core of a Shiloe and their anchors. The bonds are always sexual in nature, and can be forever, though not all last past the mating.
At the age of twenty, the mating occurs, and one to three of the anchors will become permanent mates to the Shiloe, changing their anchor bond to a mating bond.
The family bond is used to identify members of a Shiloe's pack that are related to the Shiloe by either blood or adoption.
The heart bond is used to identify pack members that are not related by blood or adoption to Shiloe.
No more information on Shiloe and magical bonds is available at this time.

Section VII: Anchors
A Shiloe takes anchors to help stabilize its immense power and to provide it with sustenance, which it must take in the form of either sex or blood, and to be a focus for Shiloe to learn to ignore the emotions of others and focus on their own and that of their loved ones.
As Shiloe are very secretive, no other information is available on Shiloe anchors at this time.

Section VIII: Shiloe Family Composition
Not much is known about how Shiloe reacts to others in a family setting, but it has been reported that Shiloe can sense when their child has creature inheritance and will treat that child according to his or her creature instincts, rather than by society's rules.
Shiloe and the host share the responsibility of raising any children, and Shiloe does not differentiate between their anchor's children and any that the host may have by a non-anchor, as has been proven in the past.

Section IX: Shiloe Mating Habits
Mating season for Shiloe, or the 'Concipere Tempus,' begins in December, with the first two weeks being a dry spell for Shiloe, as the Host's body prepares for conception. At this time, if Shiloe emerges, it must take sustenance in the form of blood, as sex will stop the process and reverse any progress made toward fecundity, rendering Shiloe and Host sterile for that season.
After the process is complete, the Shiloe, both male and female, will be subject to something very much like a "heat." They will want to copulate with their anchors often to ensure conception, and this can result in high levels of stress for the Host, as they will be losing chunks of memory frequently, and sometimes for seemingly no reason at all.
Shiloe can impregnate anchors/mates at any time of year.

Section X: Shiloe and Childbearing
Shiloe's gestation, and consequently, that of the Host, is only four months long. When a Shiloe impregnates an anchor or mate, however, they will have a normal human gestation unless they have dominant creature genes that change their gestation period.
Shiloe births usually occur in late April or early May.
Shiloe especially dislike being touched during pregnancy, and can be extremely mistrustful of outsiders during this time. A breeding Shiloe must be handled with extreme care.
