Prologue

Neville just stood there looking devastated. He had come to find the apartment that he shared with his mates empty. The only thing in the room was Draco's owl who had a letter attached to his foot. He quickly made his way over to the owl and got the letter. He quickly recognized Blaise hand-writing. His hands shook as he read it:
Longbottom,
This charade of a marriage has been going on long enough. The only reason me and Draco were ever with you was out of amusement. You being the pathetic Gryffindor that you are entertained us highly over the past several months. Did you honestly think that Me or Draco would be mated to you? we would never be mated to a pathetic creature like you. The signs were there Longbottom and you were just to desperate and stupid not see them. You don't know how many time me and Draco laughed at you behind your back. That being said, me and Draco are tired of having you as a third wheel. Its time we start looking for our third mate, and you would just be in the way. So if you know what is best for you Longbottom I suggest you stay away from me and my mate. I won't hesitate to kill you, and you might want to pass that down to your Gryffindork friends as well. I would say its been a pleasure, but I would be lying.
Zabini

Neville dropped to his knees, tears rolling down his face. He had been such an idiot. He knew that things were to good to be true.
When Zabini and Malfoy had told him that he was their mate he had been suspicious. He should have followed his instincts and told them to go to hell.
He would not let the bastards break him.
He wiped his tears away and harden his heart.
As much as he wanted to regret this. This was a life lesson. He vowed that he would never let anyone get so close to his heart again,
Not only that he was pregnant.
He had been so excited when he learned from Madame Pomphrey who gave him a motherly smile and gave him a hug. Luna was also there who squealed in delight. Telling Neville he was going to make a great daddy. At that moment it seemed all surreal to him he was going to be someone's father.
He had come home to tell his "supposed mates" the good news but found that blasted letter instead.
He vowed that he was never going to let those bastard near his child, Ever. He fumed. They were cowards. They had nerve to call him pathetic? says the bastards who has to leave a letter instead of facing him in person. Zabini didn't have to worry about him contacting him. He rather contact Snape then see those bastards again.
There was part of him that was glad he did find out Zabini and Malfoy true colors. His child would grow up not under their influence.
He decided that he needed to leave England all together. He needed to start somewhere fresh. He didn't want his child exposed to all that was going on here. With Voldemort looming about, and the prejudice in regards to blood statues and what house you are in.
The only thing he did regret was leaving Luna, Harry, Hermione, and Ron. They had been good friends him over the years.
As much as he loved them the baby came first.
Taking one last glance at the place he once called home he apparate away.
