I can smell the iron. Its overwhelming my senses and I know that if I could open my eyes the blissful sight of my blood would be the last thing I carry with me away from this realm of existence. I cant. I dont want that. I want to remember his lips on mine. The feel of our souls mingling while our lips, tongues and breaths met in their own complicated dance. Connecting us before we fell. My last thoughts should be of when I felt the most loved.
But they weren't. My last thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice breaking into my sanctuary. My last thoughts, the one thing I feel I should have control over, the one true thing that isnt manipulated by the circumstances of others and what they wish for me, are being hijacked. Even with this last bit of authority over how I want to end, someone else takes my choice away.
My last thoughts were hearing Lavendar crying out, "Hermione....no, no......"
This is not how I wanted this to go.
