What Happened?

“Er… Hi.” Bardock smiled sheepishly and waved. All of the Order had gathered at the Burrow in preparation to retrieve Harry from his home. Of course, Bardock arrived as well. After all he had to do under the foot of Voldemort, Bardock wanted to help the order as much as he could.

Mad Eye-Moody eyed Bardock up and down “You look like Goku.”

Goku chuckled from next to Bardock “Well, he is my dad.”

Molly raised her eyebrows and widened her eyes “Th… This is Bardock?” Goku nodded then Bardock yelped when Molly hugged him tightly. Mrs. Weasley sobbed into his chest “Thank you for your warning that night!”

Bardock blinked the smiled softly and hugged Molly and rubbed her back “I couldn't let them hurt you guys, especially my cubs and those they care about.” Molly nodded and stepped back, wiping her eyes. Bardock coughed into his fist then said “Well, let me formally introduce myself then.” Bardock snapped his legs together then thumped his fist over his heart and bowed. “My name is Bardock. I am a Third Class soldier that worked for the late King Vegeta.” he stood up straight then looked down “I don't like lying to people I trust and care for so…” he rubbed the back of his head “I went as another name when I was at Hogwarts. Karcdob Tsarschild.”

Mad-Eye’s single eye widened “Karcdob? Is that really you?”

Bardock chuckled and looked up “Yup. Sorry for lying old timer.”

Moody stared at Bardock then gruffed “Polyjuice potion.” It wasn’t a statement.

Bardock nodded “Yeah.” he rubbed his lower back “Growing back a tail isn’t fun. Seriously don’t recommend.” He motioned to his leg “I’ve had a three foot spike from a Viconian in my leg. I can tell you right now I’d prefer the spike compared to regrowing tail bones over and over again.” he smirked at his cub “At least that spike got me on better terms with your Carrier so that was definitely worth the blood loss.”

Goku rolled his eyes and Arthur frowned “Viconian?”

Bardock nodded “Yeah, big ass lizard lookin mother fuckers that breath fire and shoot spikes at ya. Dumb ass comrade of mine named Alric got… what’s the term you guys use? Shit-ka-babed?”

Ron blinked “Shish Kebabed?”

Bardock snapped his fingers “Yeah, that. Three foot spike got him in the shoulder but it’s so big it got his heart.” Bardock crossed his arms and snorted with distaste “Dumb ass Saiyan… Dumbest one I’ve ever seen next to Nappa.”

Vegeta, who was holding a sleeping Veget, snorted “I really don’t miss that bumbling oaf.”

Bardock nodded “Agreed.”

Lupin narrowed his eyes “Where else were you in the past?”

Bardock tapped his chin “Ah… I was in the Ministry when the pink toad was teachin at school. Helped Ron and Neville when that orb room started to collapse.”

Ron gapped at the Saiyan “That was you?”

Bardock nodded “Yup. If I remember correctly, I was holding… Luna when the students were captured around that archway. I made sure not to hurt her, you can ask her yourself.” he looked at Remus, Tonks and Ginny sadly “Sorry about stunning you three last year too. I was ordered to kill on sight if anyone tried to interfere with Bella. I couldn’t kill you guys though, not any of you. I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself.”

“I can’t believe it…” Hagrid murmured.

Bardock sighed then said “If it makes things any better, I never took that dumb dark mark.”

“Why were you gone for so long?” Hermione asked curiously “After Christmas? We never saw you or Karcdob. Snape had to take over your classes.”

Bardock tensed up and his tail flicked nervously behind him. Slowly reaching up with is left hand, he ground the heel of his hand into his temple as a few memories of pain flashed through his mind “I-I…” Bardock shut his eyes and hugged his midsection then surprised everyone by whining miserably.

“Dad…” Goku went up to his father and rubbed his back, his tail coiling around Bardock lashing one. As Bardock squeezed his eyes shut, Goku looked up sadly “My Dad was tortured for two months for helping us escape this house on that night. They tortured him for hours under the cruciatus curse. When Harry found him months later, his mind was…” Goku trailed off.

“Feral.” Vegeta gruffed. The Beta Saiyan looked down at his cub and stroked his black hair then looked back up at the Order “To retain our sanity, Saiyans go back to basic instinct and store away our logical minds for safety. This only happens under extreme circumstances and is extremely hard to come back from.” he looked at Piccolo who was standing nearby “Luckily, Piccolo’s other half, Kami, is an excellent healer and brought him back to us as well as healed his body.”

“How was he found? His physical condition?” George asked.

Piccolo rumbled “Bad. He had multiple lacerations, bruises, and both femurs were broken along with multiple fractures in his tail. He crawled with broken legs from the edge of the apparition boundary on the school property to the edge of the Forbidden Forest where Potter found him.”

Molly put a hand to her mouth “Good Heavens…”

“Do you have any useful information for us Bardock?” Arthur asked.

Bardock shuddered then snapped out of his painful flashbacks and shrugged “Most information I have is plans that have already passed and some names.” he growled “In the beginning it was a partnership, I was admired for my skills and mind. Ever since last year started, I was treated more like a dog in training than an equal.” he punched his palm and snarled as he looked to the side at nothing “I want his fucking head on a spit!” he looked back to the Order with a serious face “I’ve been humiliated more than a warrior should be. I want revenge but more than that I want this war to end the good way.” he crossed his arms “And I’ll help you all as much as I can to win this war and get rid of that damn lizard tyrant.”

Arthur nodded then walked up to Bardock and put a hand on his shoulder “I trust you.”

Mad-Eye growled “Arthur, he lied to u-”

“I know he did.” Mr. Weasley said firmly.

“Wait.” Goku said suddenly with a hand up. Everyone looked Goku in confusion since he just interrupted a conversation. “Uh… Why are we all here?”

Everyone facepalmed and Hermione said exasperatedly “To go get Harry? Remember? To get the Death Eaters off the real Harry’s trail when we go get him?”

Goku blinked repeatedly then said “Uh… Why don’t I just… go get him right now...?”

Vegeta stared at his mate then punched him on the back of the head “WHY DIDN’T YOU SUGGEST THAT EARLIER YOU OAF?!”

Goku whined and covered his head “I’m sorry! I forgot!”

Vegeta snarled “You forgot?! How the fuck do you forget you can teleport?!” he went to go yell at his mate more but then Veget woke up and started screaming. “Guh…” Vegeta groaned then started bouncing his baby in his arms “I’m sorry my little heir… Sha sha… It’s alright… I’m sorry for yelling cub…” Veget sniffed, his eyes glistening with tears but he stopped crying though his lip was still trembling. King Vegeta kissed his baby’s forehead and purred softly in his chest “Shh… No need to cry… You’re a prince, a prince does not cry over nothing.”

Prince Vegeta looked up at his Carrier with round eyes then sniffed “Ca…”

Vegeta chuckled “Yes yes I know.” he then looked back at his Alpha mate with narrow eyes “I’m mad at you.” he upturned his face in distaste and walked away “Baka. Go get him and bring Mad-Eye with you.”

Goku had his shoulders up and nodded “Okay Geta…”

Kingsley sighed and crossed his arms “How in the name of Merlin did we forget he can do that?”

Mad-Eye grunted “Hell even I forgot.” he grumbled “Well don’t we look like a bunch of idiots.”

Goku scratched the back of his head “Er…”

Moody limped over to Goku and put a hand on his shoulder “Alright, snap to it. We’ve dawdled enough as it is.”

Goku sighed and nodded “Okay.” he waved with two fingers “See you guys in a few.” He then put his fingers to his forehead and vanished.

Trunks, who was sitting on the couch next to Fred laughed “Kami I keep forgetting that he isn’t that smart!”

“I didn’t.” Piccolo grunted then smirked “I was wondering how long it would take him to remember that.”

Trunks frowned “You remembered and didn’t speak up?”

The Namekian shrugged “If he can’t remember an ability he acquired, not my fault.”

“But why didn’t you say anything sooner?” Arthur frowned deeply, not amused by the serious situation.

Piccolo smirked toothily “Because I am amused by Vegeta hitting Goku for his idiocy.” he flinched when he felt something hit him on the back of the head. The Namekian looked behind him and saw Vegeta scowling at him.

“Don’t think I won’t wipe your ass on the floor Namek. Let’s see how amusing it is when I beat you unconscious.” Piccolo grumbled but crossed his arms and kept silent. “Hmph. Thought so.”

Bardock frowned at the spot where Goku and Mad-Eye vanished “They should’ve been back by now…”

Vegeta blinked “You’re right…” he looked at Bardock then said “Here, hold him.” He handed Veget to his Grandfather then crossed his arms, tucked his chin down and closed his eyes. ‘Kakarrot? Kakarrot what’s going on? Do you have hi-’ Vegeta’s eyes snapped open when Goku suddenly popped up next to him.

“Harry!” Goku gasped then turned to Harry quickly and put his hand on his shoulders “Are you alright Harry?! You got Hedwig?”

Harry nodded, his face slightly pale and obviously panicked. Arthur and Kingsley rushed up to them and Arthur asked hurriedly “Where’s Alastor?”

Goku looked at Arthur “He told me to leave.” he shook his head “They were waiting for us Mr. Weasley. I don’t know how but as soon as we appeared, Death Eaters stormed into the house. It was chaos. I had to get Harry out of there.”

Bardock’s face fell “I-Is… Alastor… Is he…?”

Goku shook his head again “I don’t know. I’d have to go back but I was getting that energy sapping spell thrown at me. Moody held them off and deflected the spells so I could get out of there. Last I saw was him dueling with four Death Eaters.”

Bardock handed Veget to his Bearer then grabbed the front of his cubs shirt and snarled “Then let’s go help him! Now! Take me to him!” Goku nodded then the two of them blinked away from everyone. When they arrived at the Vernon house, Bardock roared angrily when he saw and sensed no one in the house or outside it “THOSE DAMN COWARDS!” he rounded on his cub “Are you sure there were death Eaters here? How many?!”

Goku stuttered “O-Over ten I think!” He looked past Bardock then widened his eyes “Moody…”

Bardock whirled around then his eyes widened at the sight of a pile of ash and a metal leg lying on the floor. The Scarred Saiyan stumbled forwards then fell to his knees in front of the pile of ash “Alastor…” Bardock carefully picked up the metal leg then reared his head back and roared. He snapped his head down and gritted his teeth “Gods DAMMIT!” Bardock punched the floor with his left hand then slowly stood up still holding the leg. Bardock’s tail bristled as he hissed “Fucking Bastards…” the Saiyan looked around then growled “They took his eye.” he then looked around more and spotted a bronze colored metal jar. Bardock took the decorative jar then knelt back down and scooped the ashes of the fallen Order member into them before closing the jar. Goku watched his father stand back up and looked down at the spot where the leftover ashes colored the carpet. Goku’s father grasped the jar in his right hand and grasped the leg with his tail. The Saiyan snapped his legs together then thumped his fist over his heart and rumbled “Lunikti guide your soul to a warriors paradise and Aparus judge you well fallen comrade. You died a warrior's death Alastor Moody, you will not be forgotten.” Bardock thumped his chest twice then slowly bowed before straightening and walking back over to his cub. “Goku. Let’s go. There is no need for us to linger.”

Goku looked at his father’s stoic face sadly and nodded “Alright Dad.” He put his hand on Bardock’s shoulder then the two of them vanished from the depressing and empty house.

When the two of them reappeared, everyone noticed the two of their’s faces and the fact Moody wasn’t with them. Vegeta looked at them then said what everyone was thinking “He’s dead.”

Goku nodded and Bardock gripped the leg and jar. Bardock lifted the leg “They left this behind. They took his goddamn eye…” Bardock took a breath to calm himself then raised the jar “They… turned him to ash. I couldn’t leave him there...”

“Were there other bodies?” Kingsley questioned.

Goku shook his head “No. They must have took the bodies with them or someone got really hurt, I noticed a lot of blood.”

Arthur put a comforting hand on Bardock’s shoulder then his other hand on top of the jar “I’m glad you brought him back Bardock. Thank you.”

Bardock nodded then murmured “He was my mentor… Of course I couldn’t leave him in that place…” Arthur nodded and everyone looked at Harry who had been sitting on the couch catching up with Hermione while Bardock and Goku had left. Bardock looked at Harry with unseeing eyes then turned and flew upstairs.

Harry looked after him with a sad expression. Vegeta sighed and shook his head “He was more fond of that crazy old man than I thought if he’s that upset.”

Goku nodded then said “I saw him do something where Moody died. He said something about Lunikti and Aparus? He bowed and stuff too.”

Vegeta raised his eyebrows “He… Huh…” Vegeta looked up at where he sensed Bardock holding himself up in a room “Interesting.”

Harry looked at Vegeta “What’s interesting?”

Vegeta looked down at his softly cooing cub and smiled crookedly “Bardock gave Alastor Moody a Saiyan warrior’s send off.” he looked up and closed his eyes then said clearly “Lunikti guide your soul to a warriors paradise and Aparus judge you well.” he looked at his Alpha mate “He said that yes?”

Goku nodded “Yeah, that’s it.”

Vegeta hummed and nodded “Alastor was well respected by Bardock then if he received a send off. That is only done to fallen comrades and warriors on the battleground.”

Kingsley looked up then nodded “He’s on our side then if he reacted that badly to Alastor’s death.”

“Who’s Lunikti and Aparus?” Fred and George asked in unison.

Vegeta absently bounced his babe in his arms then said “Lunikti is the Saiyan Goddess of the Silver Traveller, the moon. She is depicted as a silver haired and furred female Saiyan. With my people’s deep connection to the moon, it is thought that the moon Goddess is who brings us to the other side and to paradise when you die. Aparus is an intimidatingly large Saiyan male that judges your life as you die. He is often depicted as a bald Saiyan with a dark brown beard and mustache, similar to how your vikings look actually. Aparus is said to carry a scroll to which he reads your life from. He is who decides if you go to paradise or go to Hell.”

“Fascinating…” Arthur murmured, his expression totally enraptured in Vegeta’s Theology lesson.

Kingsley looked at Vegeta curiously “So you do not believe in God?”

Vegeta snorted and grumbled in the Saiyan tongue “Idiot Earthlings…” he sighed then gruffed “I believe God is a general term. My people do not believe in a singular God. We have some minor Gods and Goddesses as well as those higher up like Lunikti and Aparus.” he then growled “Now enough with my people’s history. Those cubs need sleep.” Vegeta eyes Harry, Ron and Hermione then turned and flew up the stairs with Veget.

Goku rubbed the back of his head “Uh… Don’t mind him. He means well.” The Alpha Saiyan smiled softly at Harry “I think Dad’ll allow you to talk to him Harry. He could use the company.” Goku then flew after his mate and to their room.

Harry looked after Goku then jumped a bit when Kingsley spoke up. “How long have you known Karcdob wasn’t really how he was?”

Harry looked down “He confessed during my fifth year. Needless to say I was shocked but when he told me his situation… I couldn’t expose him. He became someone I could talk to and I became someone he could talk to.” he blushed slightly, not looking up “He… He reminds me of Sirius so I guess that’s why I became attached to him. He’s funny and relatable but scary when he’s angry or serious about something. He’s even told me some stories about Toma, his mate.”

Remus’ expression softened “He reminds you of Sirius? Is that really what he’s like?”

Harry chuckled “Well, add a bunch of cursing, more drinking and a few innuendo’s and that’s Bardock.”

Lupin hummed “Ah, so Sirius in his young adult years, got it.” he looked at Harry with a knowing smile “He’s definitely like your Godfather then.” Harry opened his mouth but Remus raised a hand “Ah ah, no more comments or questions. Vegeta is right, you cubs need sleep.”

Tonks raised an eyebrow “Since when do you refer to kid as cubs?”

Remus smiled sheepishly “Oh, um… I guess it’s something I picked up from Vegeta.”

Trunks chuckled then stood up and purred to Fred and George “You two are staying the night right?”

George smiled crookedly and put his arm around Trunks’ waist and kisses his temple “Of course we are. We’ve got a wedding to help with.”
