The night was dark and cold. I could feel the wind against my face as I ran through the dark forest surrounding my home. I heard growling and screaming noises behind me. Hearing those sounds made tears fall down my cold pale face. I was only a scared child who was just looking for a safe place to hide. But, soon I could hear barking and claw noises behind me. I started running faster afraid to look behind me. As I ran I suddenly tripped and hurt my leg. I continued on not worrying about the pain as I ran. But, as soon as I thought I was safe something clawed my back and I screamed loud enough for everyone to hear. As I fell to the cold and dark ground I heard a loud noise and some yelling. I began to lose consciousness as the blood spreads beneath me from my wound.
As I drift in and out of consciousness I hear my father and twin brother saying something. Then suddenly I felt my body be picked up by someone. After that I completely blacked out. All I felt was emptiness like I was floating in a massive void unable to move or speak. When I thought all hope was gone I suddenly saw a light in front of me. I used whatever strength I could find and moved towards it. When I finally got to it I opened my eyes to see my brother Darien beside me crying for joy. I sat up as I looked at him worryingly " Big brother what happened? Where's mother and father? Why do you have bandages and wounds? And why am I covered in bandages as well? Tell me what happened please!! " Darien then moves away from me as he gives me a sadden look. Father then came in and rushed over to me hugging me. He then said. " My dear Annie your finally awake. I thought I'd lost you too. " I suddenly started crying into his chest. It was like all the pain and fear I felt that night bursted out. Father moves away from me as he looks at me with a serious look. He says in a calming voice. " Annie you must know that your mother died while protecting you. But, sadly you were attacked by the same werewolf that killed your dear mother. We went after it but, it escaped and hasn't been seen since then. We buried your mother by the cherry blossom tree she planted. I hope you understand. " We all sat in silence as I tried understanding what happened. I was still a child and couldn't quite deal with such situations properly at the time. So, when I heard that I suddenly got up from the bed ignoring the pain I felt as I ran outside into the cold and damp night. I could smell a hint of rain in the air as I ran towards my mothers grave. I stopped in front her tombstone which read " In loving memory of a kind mother and heroic friend. " I fell to the ground crying and screaming wishing she was the one alive and not me. But, somehow I knew there was a reason I was alive whether it was fate or luck I was alive because of her.
I felt a hand on my shoulder I looked behind me to see my father and brother. I finally said to my father. " I think mother is happy right now knowing she was buried and honored in her favorite place. Will we be okay father? What are we gonna do now? " I hugged father as he smiles and strokes my hair saying. " Yes, we'll be fine. Nothing, we can't bare. Your mother was a wonderful woman and she will always be in our hearts. She died to save you Annie which was a brave and courageous sacrifice. But, now we must move forward for her sake. It's not gonna be easy but, we will get through it. Now, hold your head high and show your mother that smile of yours. Show her you can be brave and strong without her now. Do you understand my dear? " I stopped hugging my father and dried my tears as I stood in front my mom's grave. I closed my eyes feeling the air blow through my long blonde hair before opening them and giving mother my biggest smile while saying. " Thank you, mother for everything. I will always love you and I'll miss you very much. But, I will carry on and continue to be that strong amazing girl you always adored. Goodbye, mother may you rest in peace. " I then walked over to the field next to us which was blooming with flowers. I picked a few and walked back over setting them in front of her tombstone. I then looked back at my father and brother knowing I had to protect them now. So, I decided from that point on I wouldn't let anything happen to them. I knelt down and search for a sharp enough rock once I found one I picked it up grabbing my long blonde hair and cut it completely off. I watched as the strands of hair blew in the cold night air. I looked over at my father and brother saying. " It's time we move forward and make sure something like this doesn't happen to us or anyone else. I will find out who did this and make sure they pay for what they did. No matter the cost. " I then hugged them both as I then started running back to the house yelling. " Come on, let's clean this place up!!We have a lot of work to do!! " Darien then ran after me saying he beat me there first. I laughed as I started catching up to him. My father then smiles as he followed behind us. From that day forward my life began a new. I am Annie Malfoy and this is my story full of new beginnings and legendary adventures that will go down in history.
