I look forward to your updates and it would be awful if you let anyones opinion change your creativity. I teach english to 5th graders (ironic considering I am a horrible speller and worse at grammar) and one of the gifts I have gotten from that expereince is an appreciation for how differently people - even sot-nosed little 10 year old - see the world. Their view is often drastically different from mine. Not better or worse just different and I have come to respect that difference. Please keep sharing your view. I like your view.

SG: Another great chapter! Poor Hermione, she has so many insecurities, and issues of self esteem. (why would Severus want her if he could have someone like Gretchen?) And Severus has his own set of insecurities to deal with, I hope they can work through it all together in the end.

As to some peoples comments bringing you down. I really hope you don't take Delicate down, it is a wonderful story and I guess I never thought of you as having a certain 'type' of story that defines you. So how do people say this isn't you. I look at all of your stories individually, they are fiction, fantasy, I wouldn't want each story to be a carbon copy of all the others. Where would the fun be in that? Please keep writing what you find interesting and what pleases you, and in the long run you will make your readers happy, maybe not all of them. There will always be someone with negative comments, but if you are happy with your story that is the most important thing. :)

Please promise to NEVER take the story down! When I'm in one of those moods, I re-read one of your stories to cheer me up! I know I'll want to come back to this one too... I haven't read other reviews lately, but I actually like Gretchen. She's a trouble maker & is shaking up his controlled little world. So, Severus hasn't told Hermione about Gretchen's little secret. When men keep secrets to make women jealous, they usually end up 'on the couch' for a few nights. Maybe Hermione could play a few mind games too - I do like to watch him squirm! *evil grin*

Why would you ever think to take the story down?

    It's wonderful!

I can feel Hermione's suffering. Severus really needs to realize that a relationship is not a bad thing.

The scene in the classroom was delicious, simpli delicious.

    Great job, as always!

well, I am all for emotional roller coasters if it helps you to turn out writing like this. And yep, I do know exactly what you mean, the emotional thing, the smallest thing sets you off... there are times that I even hate Severus when I feel like that, too. It won't last, you'll be fine. Just keep writing, it will help... it really will!

*deep breath* Yeah, NOT hating Gretchen right now - Severus however... I think it's time for his little pity party to end - with a smack from just about anyone! He can tell himself he's testing her all he wants, but we know he's scared. Dying for the next morning!!!

I just finished up to Chapter 17. I read your thoughts about some readers not liking this story because it's "not you" and your musing that you'd just as soon take it down. Well, I don't know who "you" are ;), but I hope you don't take it down. I'm enjoying it. I think this is a very possible side of Severus. I've read all kinds of weirdness written about Snape--some of it very squicky, some of it very horrific. I can deal with a little squick, so long as there's attachment (love?) involved. I can very well see that he might have a dark side. I think he's dreadfully sexy. (Personally, I'd pay to see Alan Rickman read the phone book.)

The only problem I have with this story is your characterization of Gretchen: "bland American accent" lol So we don't have as refined a speech pattern as the BBC Brits, most of use are hardly bland. She must come from the Midwest, because everywhere else has a definite sound--Bar Harbor is different from Brooklyn is different from Tulsa is different from Macon is different from Minnesota and on and on. ;)

I have come to like SS/HG pairings. But for life experiences, I think she's near his intellectual equal. She was born old. Most of the time she doesn't act like kids her age, and so is a good match for Severus. (My husband was 12 years my senior, and we got along famously--I was born old too!)

Please continue with the story. I'd love to see Severus finally make love to Hermione, and I think she needs to snark off to him at least once for him to take her in hand or she will walk all over him if he lets her.

I can't wait to see where you take us. Thanks for the evening's entertainment.

Hi, I just read your blog and decided that you needed some support. I personally believe this story wonderful. I like what your doing. I personally like Hermione more shy and innocent. There is nothing wrong with this story. To be honest, the story you wrote that I had the hardest time reading was "The Affair". That will be the one I will not read again, but I still enjoyed it. "Delicate" is NOTHING compared to "The Affair", in my book. But what I feel more than anything, is I don't want you to pressure yourself out of writing what you WANT to write, and what inspires you. I must addmit, I am not a writter myself, I'm more afraid to attempt it. But I know that EVERY story EVER told, whether fanfiction, non-fiction, fiction, etc... there is always those out there who hate the stories. These people are getting to you, and that's not fair. You have the right to write what you want, and if they don't like it, READ something else, or, hey here's a thought, WRITE YOUR OWN STORY THE WAY YOU WANT!!!!!!! Leave others alone. Constructive critisism is welcome, but please, don't remove the story, and don't EVER avoid writing a story because SOMEONE just won't like it. Though I'm very bad at reviewing, I have been a faithfull reader of yours SINCE THE DAY YOU PUT UP THE FIRST STORY, and I like what you have to tell. Now, to write my essay...

ok so i just read your blog and i am pissed who in the hell has been frustrating you needs to keep their comments to themself!!!! ok i know it is good to have criticism but it needs to be CONSTRUCTIVE!!!!! it is not good to limit yourself to certain writing styles when there is soooo many things out there to explore and read not just from the writing stand point although i think writing different styles helps you grow as a writer but also as a reader yes everyone is allowed there favorites story types and yes everyone is allowed to make the decision to ONLY read those type of stories but PLEASE if you KNOW that you are not a fan of a certain type of story and KNOW that you can not read it with an open mind then DO NOT read it!!!! it is not like you did not place an authors note at the beginning warning everyone that this was totally different for you.... and IF these people call themselves your fans then they are wrong BC a true fan will see your writing and the talent in it rather than the story content so much and if criticism is needed then it will be done properly... they will be able to read something that you write even if it is not something they enjoy JUST bc you wrote it... hell i am a chicken shit and i cannot WAIT for your scary dm/hg fic i mean i will have to read it with all the lights on in my apt but still that ain't going to stop me!!!! I think we all started reading these fanfics bc of love of the HP world but through this we have not only continued being a fan of this world but being a fan of the farious authors as well it has become something more you authors have taken JK's world and taken it to a whole new level by exploring what could have been and in some instances what SHOULD have been (severus dying hmphh really...) and developing a story line from that... i know that these fics are not only something i enjoy reading but something that has become an escape for me at times when RL is being a bitch it is so great to be able to log on here and lose myself in this world just for a bit esp when things are soo overwhelming and stressful and one of my fave stories to open up is honestly anything by you SG i have read his saving grace sooo many times but i am never bored of it bc although i know the whole story line it is nice to read it among others and they all make me feel better and have a happy ending when RL is not looking so happy!!!! anyway i hope you do not take down this fic i love it so and i think i love this severus more then others honestly he is sooo yummy when he is all dominating but vulnerable at the same time and not everyone falls into a relationship without doubt also hermione is soooooo not a doormat hello she is submissive to him THAT does not mean she is a doormat strong women have feelings and insecurities too and they are allowed to be emotional geez she isn't a robot... ok ok so i have ranted on enough i hope that this has helped and i hope to see delicates update tomm..... :-)
