Gift Giver
When he woke up it was just after curfew and he could not help but groaned at the lost meals; he was so hungry. As soon as the thought left his mind a house elf appeared with a loud pop with a tray of food. The elf was small; it had no hair, large bat ears, and big baby blue eyes. He could tell instantly it was female; not many people bother to learn the difference between a male and female elf, he however did. She had a pillow case with the Hogwarts crest on her flat chest bone. He could not help but be disgusted at her hunch back and scars. He hates the mistreatment of any creature.
“Lady Hogwarts says yous be needin food so Pinny bringies.” The little elf explains.
‘Zhe needz a proper name, Hogwartz iz bad enough az the name of te zchool.’ The boy thought to him self before speaking. “Chour zentenz iz incorrect it zhould go: Lady Hogwarts told me to bring you some food. Pleaze correct it.” He told the elf as he rested his chin on his palm. He did not understand how the house elves would serve intelligent people but they sound brainless. It was disturbing.
The house-elf blushed and her eyes watered. “Lady Hogwarts told me to bring you some food.” She repeated slowly and softly, stumbling a little over her words.
The boy nodded. “My name iz Inurouchi Sessakura, it iz nize to meet chou Mrs. Pinny.” He introduced himself. “Chour reply vould be: It is nice to meet you as well Mr. Sessakura.” The young Slytherin corrected before she could even open her mouth to speak.
Pinny bowed. “It is nice to meet you as well Mr. Sessakura.” She repeated fearfully.
“Now Mrs. Pinny I do not like it vhen one zpeckz az if tey ‘ave no brain in teir head; zo tell all te oter elvez tat vhen ve meet tey are to greet me vit te zentenz: Hello Mr. Sessakura, my name is… at vhich point tey are to ztat teir name. Tey are ten to zay: It is nice to meet you. After tat I vill correct any ting tey zay az needed. Ven ve meet again chou are to greet me vit: Good day/ afternoon/ evening (depending on te time of day), Mr. Sessakura. Do chou underzand?” He asks her. He really was not sure if she understood; he had a very strong and strange accent after all.
But Pinny nodded franticly. This maybe the first time she was told to say such things but she had heard the phrases enough to know how they are said. “Yes, Pinny understand.”
“I understand.” He corrected.
“I understand.” She repeated.
“Very good, tat vill be all. Tank chou Mrs. Pinny and ‘ave a good evening.” He gave a nodded which the house-elf returned before she left. “Zhe vaz zuppoze to vizh me a good evening in return.” He grumbled under his breath. ‘Next time.’ He decided before bring the tray to him and begin eating. While he ate he thought on how to go about his plans. When he was done eating he went to roam the school again. Once again he spent this time to talk to the magic of the school.
The next two days was spent reading and thinking about the upcoming school term. Inurouchi also wrote letters and replied to letters he received. When it was time to go pick up the necklace he left the school dressed exactly how he did two full days before. When got to the shop the keeper looked anxious instead of bored. The young Slytherin raise a brow at the man.
“Iz ter a problem vit te necklaze?” Inurouchi asked the man when he reaches the desk, causing the man to jump.
The man turns to the boy with a soft blush upon his cheeks. “No, no lad the necklace is fine.”
“Ten vhy are chou zo anxiouz?” he asked as he folds his arms over his chest, not buying the man’s words.
The shop keeper bit his lip and twiddled his thumps. For some reason he suddenly felt like a child being scold by his mother. “There was a man yesterday that wanted the necklace. I told him it was a special order and that you would be hear to pick up it up to day. He asked me to hold you till he can come to talk to you about getting one made like it.” The man explained. When he was done he could not help but take a deep relaxing breath, he felt like the world had been lifted off his shoulders. He didn’t know why, but this boy scared the hell out of him.
Inurouchi watched the man closely for a moment longer before hoping on to the counter to sit. “Ven vill tiz man coming? And vere iz te necklaze? I vill like to zee it.” He questioned the keeper. He didn’t mind meeting someone that liked his work. He knew the shopkeeper could only make the necklace once due to the spell he place on the drawing he made. No matter how much the shop keeper tried, after making the necklace once, he will not be able to remember how to make it again. It was a modified obliviate spell.
The keeper reached under the desk and pulled out a flat black box and handed it to the boy. “Here is the necklace and he should be here any moment.” The man informed.
Inurouchi opened the box to look at the necklace. It was nicely made and looked exactly like he wanted it to. He was very pleased by the outcome. But he did not like the box. “Do chu ‘ave a red velvet box vit gold triming?” He asks the keeper. When he got a nod he asked the older wizard put the necklace in that box. While the shop keeper went to the back to do just that another inters the shop. Inurouchi automatically studied the new man. His magic reaches out to test the others magical ability while he observer the man boy language. The man’s magic was slightly above average thought he had a lot of control over it. He was obviously an auror and a good one. He had the confidence and the slight paranoia that comes with being a good auror. The last bit of information made him watch the man closely, one could never be too careful with someone that not only works for the minatory of magic but could also do a good job at it.
The auror was of average height with sun kissed skin. His hair was a dark chocolate brown while his eyes were more of a milk chocolate color. His face had a boyish tint to it that spoke of healthy eating. The boy know that the man was in his late twenties early thirties by the maturity of his magic. The young wizard could not help but think that the man was very handsome, with all things considered. The man smiled brightly as he caught sight of the child sitting on the canter.
“Hello young lad.” The man greeted with an out stretched hand.
Inurouchi shook the hand. “‘ello.” He greeted back.
“I am David Smith. I was wondering if I could get a necklace made like the one you designed.” He informed the child. When the shop keeper described the child to him he thought it was a joke, but there the child was before him. A boy that looked around the age of seven that had milky caramel skin, teal orange and gold eyes, and the shape of a girl. It was odd to see the child he could not image, even though he tried.
“Vhy do chou vant my necklaze?” The Slytherin asked the auror.
The auror blushed. “My wife’s birthday is coming up and I think that necklace would be the perfect gift for her.”
The boy thought on this and raised a brow. “Tough I am ‘onored tat chou believe tat, tat vould be a perfect gift for chour vife I cannot ‘ave tat necklaze duplicated.” The boy told the man. David, who hoped the boy would agree, deflated. His smile fell and his shoulder slumped. The boy felt bad for this, he could tell fome the reaction the man loved his wife and had been searching for the perfect gift for a while now. “Vhy vere chou zo zet on tat necklaze?” The boy needed to know. Though he had confidence in his work he wanted to know what made David think of his wife.
The man sighed. “It described her. The sword describes her strength as an auror and her sharp tongue as a woman. And the flowers show her beauty though it all.” The man’s face lit up with love as he spoke of his wife.
The boys eyes soften and he got an idea. He turned to the shop keep (who returned just before David answered him) and asked him to bring him parchment and ink which the shops keep quickly did. When Inurouchi got the parchment and ink he quickly sketched out a new necklace. This one was also a sword but one much more feminine then the other one. Sitting on the elongated guard leaning up ageist the handle was a large ruby in the shape of a blooming rose, the stem of the rose rapped around the sword and the leaves on the stem was made of emeralds. While the boy drew the two men tried to look over his shoulder to see what it was he was doing.
When the boy was done once again he taped the parchment a few times before looking to the other men. When the boy looked up the two men tried to pretend they where not trying to take a peek. The boy’s eyes shined with amusement at this. “Now chou can zay above all zhe iz beautiful.” He said as he handed David the drawing. David’s eyes widen at the drawing. “I’ll need tat back after he’z done making te necklaze.” Inurouchi announced.
The auror nodded and smiled. “Thank you.”
Inurouchi nodded before collecting his necklace and the sketch of it. He paid the shop keeper how much he thought the workmanship was worth, which was twice as much as the shop keeper was going to ask for, before leaving the shop. When he got back to his room he hid the necklace and put the sketch with his other drawings before heading to the great hall for a late lunch.
After that Inurouchi spent the next two day trying to organize a letter to accommodate the necklace in the best way. It was not till it was time to send the latter that he was able to word it in a way that satisfied him. When the latter was complete he placed it in an envelope and sealed it with wax. He put the latter in to the necklace box before going to Hogsmeade to send the gift though the post owl. He timed it so that the owl would reach the recipient just past twelve so that the New Year would start with something good. After this was done he went to bed.
~&-&~~&-&~
It was just past twelve when there was a taping on the window. The two Gryffindor first years quickly snapped out of there laughing to see what it was. There on the window sill was a post owl with a red and gold box in its beak. The red head was the one to open the window. The owl flew in and drops the box on the black haired boy’s lap before departing. The red haired boy raises a brow before closing the window.
“What’s that?” Ron asked as he went to his bed and set next to his friend.
Harry surged as he open the box. He gasped at the necklace that rested ageist the red fabric of the case. “It’s a necklace.” He whispered. Ron lends over to see it and eyes bulge at the sight of it.
“Wow man who sent you that?” Ron asked in awe. He was a little jealous that his friend got such an extravagant gift but keep that to him-self.
“I don’t know but it has a latter.” Harry said as he removed the latter from the top. He handed Ron the necklace while he open and read the latter out loud.
“Dear Mr. Harry Potter,
Thought we are not acquainted I feel a need to brighten up your festivities’. I am aware you have friends for that but I am sure they do not realize the pain you suffer; for they have parents or guardians who would celebrate with them, but you do not.”After reading this Harry stole a glace at Ron and wondered if it was such a good idea to read this letter out loud. Well it was too late, he couldn’t stop now. “Sadly there is nothing that can be done about the lost of your parents. No matter how cruel their death had been it was their time to move on to another life. But that does not mean they left you or that they are no longer there, it just means you have to carry them in you instead of seeing them on this plan.” Harry could not help but smile sadly at this.
“To remind you, that even though your parents are no longer of this world that dose not mean they are no longer with you, I gift you with this necklace. This is not only something to be admired but it is also a reminder of your family. There is meaning behind it’s designed but also it is one of a kind.”
“Did you just say one of a kind?” Ron exclaimed with a shocked look. Harry nodded and Ron looked at the necklace in awe. He had never seen a one of a kind before.
“There is no other like it anywhere. There is an unbreakable charm and an irremovable charm on it so once you put it on no one can take it from you, also it is unable to be damaged in any way.”
‘The Dursleys can’t take it from me?’ He wondered. He hoped that was true.
“For the meaning behind it I will start with the sword. The sword represents family in general. It means that no matter how broken or disfigured it may be it can always be fixed. Be it new beginnings, putting it back together, or felling in the wholes; it can always get to its former glory. As long as there is one piece, one member of the family, that remains then the sword, family, will survive. Though the rebuilding process is hard and tiresome if one never gives up then all will be fix in time. Remember you are still here you can always rebuild your family when your older. Besides by then you may already have friends that become family.” Harry stole another glace at Ron, his first friend, who just smiled back at him. “A bit of advice: it is best not to dwell on what you do not have but to work on gaining what you have lose, for the past can not be changed but the future is not here just yet. Think on that if you will.” Harry paused and they both thought on that a bit before he continued.
“Moving on; the stones represents your family in there beauty, strength, and them as individuals. Your family is know for fighting to the end and never giving up but also they do not fight other people battles for them and they prefer to help then to harm, or at lest that is what I gathered. Now you may, or may not, be wondering about why those specific stones were chosen and why they are shape the way they are.” Harry and Ron took a closer look at the necklace and notice that the jewels where shaped like flowers. “Well they are based of the muggle thoughts of birth stones and birth flowers which are based of the month in which one is born.
On the handle is an aquamarine stone in the shape of a jonquil flower. It is to represent your father who was born in the month of March. He sits on the handle because not only is he the head of the household but also he is the strength behind the family. Though the handle is not sharp like the rest of the sword it can do just as much damage. And beside any father should tell you that being dale will help with handling children. Also the handle of the sword helps protect its welder like the head of the house helps protect his family, with all he’s got.” Harry smiled brightly at this while Ron wonders if his father would agree with that.
“Now, the stone in the middle is a garnet and it is in the shape of a carnation. This is a representation of your mother who was born in the month of January. She is in the middle because any good mother is who keeps the family together but also they will cut down anyone who hurts there baby/babies.” Ron nodded in agreement with this. “Your mother was strong and she may have died but she died protecting you. She did the most honorable thing a mother could do, and I for one hold her as my hero. You should be proud of your parents.” ‘I am.’ Harry thought with a proud nod. Though he did not always know about his parents but what little he knew now made him proud of them.
“At the tip of the sword is where you sit. Born in July your stone is a ruby and your flower is a water lily, like your mothers name. You’re at the tip for a number of reasons. You are to be the stronger and sharper then those before you, though it is not demanded of you it is every parents hope; that one day their child will surpassed them. Another reason I put you there is because you should learn from your parents’ mistakes and gain from their accomplishments; in other words find out what they did wrong in life and don’t do it but also find out what they did good and do it better. For my final reason you need to pay close attention to. You are to be your self. Not what you think you should be, not what others want you to be, and defiantly not what others try to make you be because at the end of it all only you will be hurt if you hate what you’ve become.” Harry frowned at this. He didn’t know how to be himself. ‘Guess that’s something you have to work on.’ A voice in the back of his mind came forth. He nodded; yes he would most defiantly work on it. Unknown to Harry, Ron was thinking along the same lines.
“Now you do not have to listen to my advice or take my gift but I just thought I would help you start the New Year with some knowledge and something happy. You may not know me, but I mean you no harm, and besides I notice you don’t really have anything nice so now you do. This is all yours so I hope you like it; it took me a while to come up with the design for it.”
“Come up with the design!” The two screech together. ‘Who is this person?’ they both thought.
“Have a happy New Year,
The elf proclaimed gift giver.” Harry had no idea what that meant.
“That is strange.” Ron said softly.
“Yeah it is.” Harry surged.
“Hey there’s more what does it say?” Ron asked as he almost begins to bounce.
“PS: More food for thought, when it comes to magic almost anything is possible. When it comes to people anything can be a lie. People, no matter who they are, are hiding things about them self from the out side world. It could be to protect them self, to protect some one else, or it can be as curl as to use the people around them for their own personal gain. Some things people hide are more deadly then others. But you never know who hides what. So if you ignore every thing else I wrote do not ignore this next thing. Do not judge people by what you see and hear but the things about them that you don’t understand, because when you look into those things you’ll find the truth about what that person trying to hide. Also I don’t know if any one told you this but never assume anything it can get you killed.” This shocked both of the first years.
They were both quiet till Ron finally spoke up. “That’s what we been doing all year. Assuming everything based on what we seen and heard and it’s got us in some bad situation so far.”
Harry nodded. “Yeah.” He yawns and rubbed his eyes. “Let’s go over the year after we get some sleep. Well start with the facts and go from there.” With Ron in agreement, Harry put on the necklace and head to bed.
~&-&~~&-&~~
Later that day Inurouchi was roaming the halls when he found himself at the Gryffindor common room entrance. He stood there for a moment debating if he wanted to try to gain entrance or not. Before he could come to a decision the portrait opened on its own. He thanked Lady Hogwarts (he really has to give her a proper name) before entering the common room. He was bombarded with red and gold and he almost gagged at the look of the common room. Though he has nothing ageist the Gryffindors he just think their common room, much like his own, needs to be redecorated.
He thought about how much more welcoming the common rooms could look if they where redecorated. ‘I guezz I ‘ave planz for te next few dayz.’ He thought as he followed Harry’s magical signature to his dorm room. They where still asleep so Inurouchi set on the unoccupied bed that was closest to Harry and waited. The wait made him fell lazy so he begins to redecorate the common rooms in his head. He know he had to go see the other common rooms at some point, more likely before the day is up, but for now the mental image would have to work. Just as he finished the last of his plans the boys begin to wake up.
Harry woke up from his pleasant dream not really wanting to wake up; he rarely had a good dream. He sighed as he got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to get ready. A moment after Harry left Ron dragged him self out of bed. As he gathered his things his mental time clock told him he missed breakfast. “Great.” He mumbled as he went to join Harry in the restroom. Inurouchi, after coming to the same realization, asked the school to send up food for the two.
When the two came back they fond a small table for two with breakfast piled neatly on it. They looked at each other before quickly hurrying to put their things up and went to eat. They ate quietly for a bit before they start speculating on who sent them food. It was Ron who got it right whether he realized it or not. After they where done eating the food and the table disappeared and they decided to work on fining the facts and trying to figure out what was going on.
“Lest start from the beginning.” Harry said as he wrote facts on the top of a peace of parchment. “First it was that Hagrid took out a package from Gringotts just before the same volt was broken into.”
“And what ever that thing is it deals with some guy name Nicolas Flamel.” Ron added.
“Yeah, then some one lets in a mountain troll.”
“That same person tried to kill you during the Quidditch game.”
“We do not know for sure if it’s the same person.”
“Harry, I am not assuming they’re the same person, it just doesn’t make any sense for some one to try to kill you while another it trying to get what ever was in that volt, it is way to closely related.”
“Well that’s true.”
“Yup.” Ron nodded. Then it was silence for a bit then Ron thought of something. “Oh and don’t forget your scar keeps burning.”
Harry frowned at this. “Why?” he mumbled more to himself then to Ron as the thought on it.
“Why? What?” Ron asked confused on where his friends head was.
“Why does my scar keep burning?” he asked as he focused on Ron. “Ron, that doesn’t make sense ether. My scar has never cased me any problems till that day in the Leaky Cauldron. At first I thought it was a fluke, then I thought it had something to do with Snape because it burned when we where being sorted too, but now I don’t think it has anything to do with Snap. Snap has been close to me plenty of times it never burned then and besides Snape wasn’t at the Leaky Cauldron that day. In fact the only teacher there was Professor Quirrell.” Harry exclaimed as he got excited. Even if Professor Snap was weird and creepy Harry really liked him. But then again he always liked the striker teachers they wouldn’t let him slake off no matter how much the Durselys tried to get him to do otherwise.
“You know now that I think about it Professor Quirrell is a bit off. Think about it, why is it that he of all people is teaching Defense Ageist the Dark Arts, especially when he can’t even get through a line without stuttering? And why is it that he fainted when he was yelling about the troll?! He should know how to defeat them! I mean we’re first years and we where able to defeat the thing!” Ron all but yelled. The more he thought about it the more suspicious Quirrell got to him.
Harry had to agree something wasn’t right about that man. “That’s true but why did Snape go near Fluffy?”
Ron nodded. “I don’t know but he was obviously caught off guard which means he was likely doing something else.”
“Yeah probable, we need to do some more research. Let’s go.” With that the two headed to the library.
Inurouchi watched them go. Though he had his own suspicions on what was going on in the halls of Hogwarts which the two boys seem to be unknowingly in the mist of it all. ‘I vill keep an eye on tem for now and zee vhat happenz.’ He sent some of his magic to fallow them to keep track of what they say or do. While they were doing their research Inurouchi went to each of the houses to draw a detailed sketch of the over all look of each common room. In the end he really couldn’t tell which room was worse. They all looked like things where added but not changed since the school was founded and the rooms were so small. It was heart breaking to see what the students have to suffer though. It’s no wonder why most students stay out of their common room.
Later when he returned to his room he decided that the Hufflepuffs would be the first to have their common room redecorated, honestly, they deserved it more for how curly everyone treats them. First he worked on the furniture. All the houses would have the same types of furniture as well as the same amount of items though the colors and designed would be different based off the houses. He wanted all different types of tables and each table would have the house crest on it, with a smoothing spell so not to disrupt the work of the student. He then realized the common rooms where all too boring so he made a list of things to livening it up. He made a note to put the crest of each house on all the other furniture as well, he also wanted the chairs for the study room to switch from the two colors of the houses so that the stitching was the opposite color of the cushions, however the lunge area would have the main house color as the color of the seats with the stitching being the other color.
When he was done he chose the best wood that would complement the colors of each house colors. The Hufflepuffs would have walnut wood, Ravenclaws’ wood would be cherry, Gryffindor equipped with teak wood, while Slytherin will have wenge wood. Once all the furniture was done he sent the drawings to his favorite furniture making place in France with a letter on how soon he needed them back by. After that he notices the time and headed to lunch. He ate quickly before he headed out to go shopping for other things for the common rooms. He spent the rest of the day shopping in both the wizarding and muggle world where he got everything he needed. When he got back to the school it was after curfew and the owl he sent out was back with a letter saying that ever thing would be done and sent to him the next day. Inurouchi thanked the owl with a treat after taking the letter.
He spent the rest of the day separating the items he bought into different piles, one for each house. With the new things he drew a detailed outline on how he wanted each house to look when he was done. As he drew he became pleased with himself but then found a flaw in his plans. After discarding many of his solutions till he was satisfied with his answers. Once he thought he was done he realized that he did not like the final produce so he put his work off to the side and started over. Each time he thought he was finished he would find something else he did not like and would begin again. This was a content problem for him and he was get frustrated but it did not stop him from trying to fix his problem. It was when an elf brought him brunch that he finally came up with something he liked and he thanked the elf profusely before starting all over again.
He work well into the next day and that evening when the owls came with the furniture he was glad to see that they had the foresight to separate them and rap them in the house colors. He waited till he was sure that all the Hufflepuffs left would be asleep before gathering the Hufflepuffs things and heading to their common room. When he got there he checked on the remaining students just to be certain they were asleep before he got started. With the help of the house-elves the common room was emptied, cleaned, expanded to twice the sizes of the great hall, changed to the shape of an octagon, and then spilt into four equal size rooms in no time. He then spelled the walls of three rooms powdered yellow with black designs, while the ceilings was turned a bright sun yellow, and the floors was turned into black marble but spelled so that it was as comfortable and warm as a carpet but it stayed smooth like the marble it is; it was also spelled so it cannot be damaged. A few charmed windows where place around the rooms on the wall space he was not planning on covering, in order to make the rooms feel more open. For the main light source he got rid of the candles and used a modified lumos that would be a constant light source without the use of the casters wand but still ran off magic it would also brighten or dim as needed. He then spelled the glass that the light would sit on to keep the light floating just above it. With that he begins to set up the rooms.
He decided that the far right room would be the play room; the room in the front to the right was going to be the drawing room, the study was to the front left and the café (which would be hidden till he was fully prepared to open it) was the last room on the far left. The front entrance was spelled to either take the students to the drawing room or the study. There was a spell that would take one to the room diagonal from the room you’re in by walking through the corner that connected all four rooms. The study was filed with study tables both small and big with enough chairs to sit comfortable but not too far from each other, there were single seat desks, and floor to ceiling bookcases that covered the empty wall space. The bookcases where spelled to bring the books need to the person who asked for it, there where many types of books that filled the shelves; they ranged from children books too advance book both magic and muggle and even books on dark magic. He then attached a list on to each bookcase of the books that it held. The drawing room had all types of couches, chairs, love sets, coffee tables and side tables. It was set up so that even large gatherings of students would be able to sit comfortably in circle areas around the room but it also had places for small groups or people who wish to be alone. There was a large fire place along the wall on the right side of the room.
The café was first named Valere Café and placed on the doors that led to it. The walls where turned to black with powder yellow designs, the floor was walnut wood spelled as the marble was. All around where high tables made of blackened metal with a glass top with a badger carve into it, there chairs was made of the same metal with powder yellow cushioning but no badger was on the chair. There was a stage stretch across half the diagonal wall to the right made of the same wood as the floor with a stand and a muggle microphone that was without the cord and ran off magic. Under the stage was spelled with an expiation charm and held all the extra equipment which will appear as needed. Next to that was a space inclosing in walnut wood, the front was a counter made of black marble, and behind that where shelves attached to the wall to hold the treats that he would latter get. Everything was than spelled so it cannot be damaged. He planned to train house-elves to work there so until that was done it would not be opened so he disillusion the doors and spelled the room so that only he and the elves could get into the space.
The play room had mats in the back of the room for rough housing or gymnastic and such. The floor mates where grey and the wall mats where dark yellow on the space without walls was an in-closer spell that would not allow someone in the area to be remove forcefully or accidently. When one hits the barrier it would feel the same as hitting a mat. He made an area that was equipped with an expiation and summoning charm that held large pillows and beanbag, a muggle invention that he found both interesting and comfortable though he hand to charm the items to be unable to be destroyed or ruined as well as to with stand time. To the right of that was all different types of games for people to play that was put on shelves and was also spell to bring the games to the person though if the person did not know which game they wish to play one that they may find interesting would come to them. The ways to get into the play room had a timer/block spell so during the class time no one could get in. For the final touches he spelled the rooms with temperature regulation spell so the students’ are always comfortable, a sound regulation spell, which was a cross between a quietus and a sonorous, so it never gets too loud but it will also amplify ones voice if they wish to speak to someone across the room so that said person would hear them but no one else would. As an afterthought he put an anti-thievery spell on all the items.
Now that ever thing was completed he wrote a letter to the Hufflepuffs witch he sighed gift giver before spelling it to appear to the oldest student there after they have explored the changes. After double checking everything he went to sit in the drawing room to wait for the Hufflepuffs. It was about twenty minutes later the few Hufflepuffs still in the school were looking around at their new and improve common room in amazement. They all roamed the separate rooms that made up their common room and tried to get familiar with the spaces. ‘This is so cool.’ was the most said comment. After the note emerged they all made their way to the lounge to read it. The only prefect left read it out loud.
“Dearest Hufflepuffs’,
It was my pledger to redecorate your common room first for it was a bit dreary in comparison to the happiness one expect from this house. Though I do not agree with what most think of the house of hard work and loyalty I do however agree with the fact that Helga was a well-known kind hearted person. I do wish to point out that you all do not have to let people speak down on you for your house holds the qualities most seek of in an employee or a partner. This should be kept in mind.” He then went on to read about the changes made to the room. After the signature there was an P.S. that read “Just because you are in one house does not mean that you do not have the abilities of other houses only that the qualities of your house is strongest in you.” Inurouchi hoped that the P.S. was as mind blowing and thought provoking for them as it was for him when he was first told the same.
After the reading he left with them and headed to his dorm to get ready for the day. He was quite pleased with himself and his work. He could not wait to do the other houses, and when he made it to breakfast he knew the other students couldn’t ether. For the rest of the day there was speculation on who redecorated, what they would do to their common room, and what they hope would happen to their common room. He knew they would all love it. He even pre-wrote the other houses letters before he went to redecorate the Ravenclaw common room, being sure to P.S it the same as he did the Hlufflepuff. He found it funny that when got there everyone had went to bed early, he sort of felt like Santa Clause.
The Ravenclaws’ common room had more potential than the others. It was already a circle and it had a white marble statue of Lady Ravenclaw which gave him an idea. After the room was cleaned and expanded he began by putting a white marble tree in the middle of the room with the roots being seen through the floor and branches seen on the sky blue ceiling where they came down to form chandeliers where he places the spelled balls of lights. He then split the room in four even sized rooms. The floors of the rooms that would be used was turned to bronze marble while the café, Formosissimos café, had cherry wood floors yet the tree roots was still seen. He turned all the walls but that of the cafe a midnight blue with bonze designs, the café had the opposite. Lady Revenclaw was animated and moved to sit elegantly against the trees in the study with her know favorite book which was also made from marble but the colors where fashioned to match the actual book and the page it was turned to had the actual words on it. The rooms where set up and spelled the same as the Hufflepuffs’ common room so that it was the same but fit the house. Lastly the letter was once again spelled to go to the oldest. When the pupils got up and after the rooms where explored the letter was read out loud.
“Dearest Ravenclaws,
With your common room I also give you advice. Do not let your books rule your life. Friends are always good and can help you with things that books could never help you with. So take your head out of those books to make friends and not only in your house. You should all be smart enough to know that anyone can help or harm you. Be smart and find those to help you along in life. Also remember people make books and sometimes they are for entertainment not learning, at least not in the conventional way…” he did not stay after that.
He got ready for the new day but decided against going to the great hall. He instead relaxed beside the lake. Pinny of course brought him his meals and he brought his magic back to himself to listen to what the two Gryffindors where up to while he was busy. As he eavesdrop to what they were able to find out he know he would have to keep a close eye on them so that when they got into trouble, which he was sure was going to happen, he’ll be able to help them out. He was also glad that they took his advice even if it wasn’t yet pointed into the direction he wanted it to go. He was confident, however, that with time they would see what was needed and when they did he would introduce himself to them.
He had a nap by the lake till mid-afternoon then went to his room to gather the things for the Gryffindors common room. He waited till it was a few hours after curfew and at that point he felt enough time had passed so he could get started. The minute he got there he got to work because he knew that there were no students up. Like the houses before it the room was emptied, prepared, and enlarged. It was turned into a trapezoid and divided into four. The ceiling was changed to look like flames and ran the customized lumos spell throughout the flames so they look real. The floor was a liquid gold that looked to be in motion. The Incendia Cafés wood work was teak and the walls are liquid gold with crimson designs. The other rooms walls where turn crimson with gold designs. He set up the room the same as the other only with Gryffindor colors. Of course he finished with the same spells and the letter though he spelled it to go to Harry instead of the oldest.
He was about to leave but felt like he still needed to do something. He went over everything; check all the spells he found that everything was in place. Looking over everything one more time he caught sight off the letter and took it out the air. “Dearest Gryffindors,
Your brain is not an accessory but a necessity, please stop letting the other houses believe as a whole you all are sharing a single thought. I know that you all can be as intelligent as a Ravenclaw if you just tried but you don’t. You allow your “bravery” to override your logic. I feel the need to inform you that bravery and recklessness is not the same thing. Bravery is to do something despite being afraid while recklessness is to do stupid things that could harm you and/or others. There is an obviously difference, stupidity. Do not use them as synonyms. Now about the room…” he read the rest which was the same as the other two houses. When he got to the end he recognized the problem. The Gryffendors would not take the P.S. in full so he added ‘Yes that also mean the Sytherins as well.’ With that he felt he was done so he left.
Upon returning to his room the information build up began to bother him, Inurouchi set in the middle of his bed and begun to mediate. All the new information was separated in addition to being place with the other information that it fit with. He was interrupted by his shoulder being shaken softly. The young Slytherin turned to find Pinny setting beside him, watching him a bit fearful. “Yez?” he asked softly to not scare her farther.
“You missed breakfast and lunch; it is almost time for dinner.” She informed as she backed off the bed, she however did not turn her back to him knowing he did not like that.
“Very vell,” He groaned as he stretched. His body was not pleased with being in such a position for such a long time.
“The students have already returned.” She updated.
“Tat iz good to know, tank chou Pinny.”
“Y-Your welcome Mr. Sessakura.” With that she left.
Inurouchi showered and changed before he went to the great hall. He entered to the whole school talking about the common rooms being redecorated as well as who could have possible did it. The Slytherin sighed at the loss of peace as he joined his house. He was pleased that they were not as loud though they seem a bit upset that they were the last to get their house changed, that was if they would get their common room changed at all. They honestly thought that Dumbledor was the Gift Giver and he wanted to slap them for letting that man tick them as well. He curved the urge but decided to rewrite there letter. He finished eating quickly before heading back to his room.
As soon as he got into his room he burnt his previous letter to the Slytherins. After sitting at his desk contemplating the best wording of this message began writing. “Dearest Slytherins,
This house has got a bad reputation as being evil when in reality you’ll are just ambitions, which is a wonderful thing. Unfortunately none of you help the image of this house. To bully the others for no know reasons is foolish as well as stupid. You can destroy alliances or possible chance at a love interest just because they think your evil so you can get away with it. You’re supposed to be better than them, or so you say, but you judge them by house and blood just as they do. Being a Slytherin is not about putting down other houses or blood purity but to be the best. Yes Salazar Slytherin did not like muggle borns but that was before obliviate and muggle repulsion wards so the risk that once was is no longer. Stop the stupidity.” he went on to explain the changes. The P.S was different as well. “Like the houses before you I will point out that just because you are in one house that does not mean that you do not have qualities of the other houses, only that your house qualities are the strongest, that including Huffllepuffs and Gryffindors. P.S.S I would just like to add that you all are not the only ones that ware masks and for you all to be fooled by them is insulting.” With that done he went to lie down.
Pinny popped in a few hours later to tell him that all the Slytherins where asleep. However the instant he checked his core he knew he needed some sleep. “I need zleep zo vell chou azk te elvez to do te prevork?” Pinny agreed then wishes him a good rest. Inurouchi was woken later by a soft shake of his shoulder. Blurry eyes stared at the elf before rising then slowly making his way to the common room. Everything but the spell work was completed. The room was in a pentagon shape and the rooms separated into for equal rooms and all the furniture was put in their right places. ‘Tey muzt ‘ave seen my drawing.’ He thought as he began his work.
The glass ceiling was spelled with the light in it so that the glass itself was the light source. The glass was then spelled to stay clear so that the bottom of the black lake was seen and the refection created a nice effect on the floor. The floor was changed to an emerald green to not only brighten the place but to make the refection a bit more hypnotic. The walls where turned silver with emerald ascents. The café, Vindico, already had the wood work done as well so all he had do was the walls which was turned to silver on emerald. With that he did all the same spells as the house before them with the letter once again going to the oldest.
After a quick walk through, he decided he was done so he set on a chair in the far corner of the lounge and took a nap. He was awoken by the lights brightening and the sound of the gathering student. With a sigh he joined his fellow Slytherins for the reading of the letter. The reaction was as expected. Meany of the rebelled against it though he was pleased to see the older students where looking a bit thoughtful. With his work completed he headed to the showers to officially start his day. With his work done he could relax, well once he find and train the elves he can fully relax.
