Bad Luck Weasley

A/N: Thank you Ms. Figg for the opportunity and with out any further ado, on with the next drabble.

Jai

SUPER WARNING! This drabble is not for the faint of heart as it cannibalistic tendencies and gore.

Ronald Bilius Weasley was an ordinary wizard. He liked
quidditch and food, but his love belonged to one Hermione Granger. Not that
this was necessarily a bad thing, but he had been in worse situations than to
be head over heels in love. Especially when said love interest and he were
taking a holiday in the Caribbean, and were touring a non-inhabited isle in the
Lesser Antilles.

However, being trussed up like a pig by cannibalistic natives
was definitely a bad thing, and the worst situation he had found himself in
yet.

“ OI YOU LOT! Lemme go right now!” he screamed at the top of
his lungs. Not that it helped of course.

A native man spoke gibberish and slammed a crude looking
knife between his ribs. His blue eyes went wide with shock as blood filled his
lungs and restricted his alveoli from swelling with air due to the pressure. He
coughed as the world began to darken. “ Hermione….” He breathed out one last
time.

One Hermione Jane Granger was at the beach, awaiting the
arrival of Ron so they could apparate back to the hotel they were staying in. Severus
Snape was there as well, he had uncannily been along to collect rare potions
herbs from a cave on the southern tip of the island.

Much to the displeasure of Hermione, his brow was furrowed. By the gods! She thought. That man is looking as if he swallowed a basilisk egg or something foul
of the like…
She turned to her former potions master. “ Is something wrong,
Master Snape?”

“ Smoke…” he said. He looked up, trying to verify that his nose
was indeed right. It had better be, as
large and hideous as it is…
he thought grimly. He had some sort of
admiration for the witch before him and had admired her from afar for nearly a
year and a half after she had saved his life. To say it was only coincidence he
was there was a long shot, although he had needed the potions ingredients.

It was a rare fungi that they had collected together while
Ron explored the rest of the island. To him it was nothing that they were
around each other. She was his apprentice after all and was looking to get her
third and final master’s certification. She already had charms and
transfiguration under her belt and would be setting a record for achieving
tri-status in such a short amount of time. Then again, she only would allow the
best to teach her, and to her, nothing topped Hogwarts’ staff.

Hermione looked up and above the canopy. Then she saw it. A
slightly dark plume of smoke rising from the western tip of the isle. “ You don’t
think he would light a fire for any reason do you?”

Severus shook his head. Something was definitely wrong here.
“ Stay close….Something is very amiss here…” he replied to her. And with that
they made their way through the dense jungle to the western tip.

Hermione smelt the aroma of cooked meat before they reached
the clearing of the natives. Severus was ahead of her and even his eyes were
wide with shock with what he saw next.

The remains of a charred human being were still tied to its
spit, held above the flames that had cooked the tribes catch. The entrails lay
on the floor beneath the remains, the sand turned crimson due to all the blood. Though all
this, Severus looked up to the head and was dismayed to see red, burnt hair on
the top of the crown.

“ Do not step any closer, Hermione…We need to get out of here
now…” he whispered.

Hermione felt like a cold stone had just dropped in her
belly. Where was Ron during all this? She looked past Severus and her hand flew
to her mouth to keep her from exclaiming in surprise. Dear gods…That can’t be Ron, can it? She thought, horrified at what
she had seen. Sure enough, his wand was laying in the sand, away from where
anyone would see it if it were grabbed from the dense brush.

“ Accio wand…” she said shakily. Ron’s wand flew to her hand
and she held it close to her. How did it come to this?

Severus put a firm hand on her shoulder. “ Hermione…We need
to leave…He’ll be at rest soon enough…”

Hermione nodded as Severus pulled her tight and apparated
with her to the hotel and to safety.
