Very happy to find another chapter for me to read as I have neither abandoned it nor am I finding it longwinded :) Loved reading Severus' back story, especially concerning Fred as I had wondered where he fit in (really love Fred btw).

This is long overdue, but time seems to have gotten away from me this past week. First of all, wow, Teddy's a smart kid! I wish all the kids I taught were as eager, focused, and quick to catch on as he is!
I like the turn this chapter took. I figured Teddy had to make a mistake sooner or later, and it makes perfect sense for him to have reacted the way he did. And poor Remus...it'll be easier for him when he can move around on his own, but I wish he could trust Severus a little more. That fall sounded painful! It didn't even cross his mind that Snape might be running to comfort the child (which he did do - and very well, too!).
I'm sure Severus will understand - after all, Lupin's son is everything to him - but I also know how much he was hoping Lupin could extend a little bit of trust towards him. He'll be so disappointed. And his special surprise was spoiled, too! Man, when Remus finds out the cane was really a present for him all along...and that of course Teddy's just fine....well, maybe he'll try to make it up to Snape somehow, and voluntarily do something that shows some faith in him. I guess we'll see!
I liked seeing the more vulnerable side of Severus, too. Can't wait for more updates!

I cannot begin to tell you how much I am enjoying this story. I could hardly convince myself to sleep last night because I didnt want to stop reading.
So much to say.... Love the Snupin bits... very sexy... Adore Snape anyway and he is so caring and diligent here as well as so introspective.... trying so hard to be a better man.... and the interaction with Teddy is delightful... Teddy is such a darling.. and so strong and brave and resillent.... want to smack Harry upside the head.... want to kiss Fred upside his head.... Fred is my new favorite house elf... and dear Lord I love house elves... you know the game... If you could have one magical thing from the Pott0er world what would it be.... Broom.. invisability cloak... wand of power... I want a house elf.. Im disabled you see and oh it would be lovely....
The whole discourse on forgiveness and power was particularly interesting to me. My husband passed three years ago.. but back about twenty years ago... he went thru a bad period and was having considerable difficulty controling his emotions and his reactions to them... to the point that he was bordering on abusive... so one fine day I called a halt to things... told him he had to go because I refused to live in fear or to kow down to him or anyone... When he realized what his 0actions had done and what he was losing.. he was sincerely contrite... he appologized from his heart and begged me to forgive him.. forgiving him was one of the hardest things I ever did... but I purposed to do it.... the unexpected outcome of that was that the power in the relationship changed and from the moment of forgiveness to the day he died.. I had th0e power in our marriage... and he was much happier for it..... Please dont misunderstand me.. my husband was a very old fashioned kind of man and would never never admit this.. not even to himself.. but I realized that at heart he was a submissive personality... he had struggled all his life to be dominant believing that this was how a real man behaved... im not talking about sexually or game playing or anything like th0at... I mean tru deep personality wise.... He spent his life as a square peg trying to fit into a round hole... When I finally took the lead in our marriage.. things began to even out in all aspects of his life... even to his relationship with his parents... he was allowed to be him... he was never weak or effeminent... or any less the Man of our home.. he just didnt have to carry the weight of being solely responsible for thngs the way he had thought he had to be. I think this happens alot to folks.. that they are trying to take on a role they are unsuited for and incapable of fulfilling.. How is this relevent to your story tou ask... well just look at poor Remus.. ignoring the device of the slave bonds... I can see Remmy thinking he needs to be dominant in his life.. should be different than he is.... afterall he is male and a werewolf... but have you ever seen a more natural sbmissive personality... trying to be one of the guys at school.. trying to stand alone in life... trying to take an agressive role in the war... marriage to Tonks... sheesh... then in this story at lest having sole responsibility for Teddy and needing to be strong against McNair... fearing to yield to Severus but yearning to... and so joyful when he does.. and Sev understanding that true dominance and strength is in the promotion of the other.... its just beautifully written... thank you for sharing

Terrific chapter! Poor little Teddy...bet Remus will be surprised at how gentle Severus was with him. And Severus will be surprised at how far Remus got by himself. Using the special cane, Remus spoiled Sev's surprise though. Maybe Remus or Teddy will wiggle the story of Severus as a small boy with his cruel father, Tobias, and that window seat oout of him.

I first stumbled upon this story a few days ago and thought to myself 'why not' and I have to say it is not at all what I was expecting. What I thought would be a quick skim of the first couple of chap's only to confirm it wasn't for me turned into a three day long marathon of reading chapter after chapter, captivated by every word. Upon realizing I had reached the end of the updates I find myself biting my lip and squirming with anticipation of what is to come. I absolutely love this story! So much so that I'm not sure I can do my adoration justice with simple words! The way the relationships are building is slow, but so steady and authentic that its not boring or drawn out but feels natural and right.

I can't tell you how much I love little Teddy and all of the interactions he brings to the story, and Fred oh my God! I love love love Fred! :D he acts so much like the bossy house wife that I can't help but laugh at the picture that always forms in my head when he and Severus interact! The develipment of the relationship between Remus and Severus is intriguing and makes me misty eyed. I can't wait to see more of these characters and were the road leads them next!

    Loving this~

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather. Between this and the break-in, you haven't had such an easy time of it these past few months! Thanks for not giving up on this story - I've really fallen in love with the way you write these characters and their relationships. You alternate nicely between moments of character development and plot advancement. Even in the less exciting scenes, I am so smitten with this whole household that I would happily watch them eat breakfast and put clothes in laundry hampers and not feel bored in the least.

You handled that scene with Remus and Severus perfectly - the one in which Remus tries to convince Severus to pursue another relationship, I mean. You managed to have Snape communicate some feelings and such without any over-the-top, non-Snape-y dialogue. And as much as I love your steamier chapters, I really like that with this one you chose to show more of the development of trust in their relationship. It's exciting to watch their growing mutual attraction, but also great in a different way to see the way they're starting to take down the walls and let each other in.

In short, it always makes my day to see a new chapter up. Kudos to you for making it this far (37 chapters, wow!!), and for continuing to give us your best.

Charms work? Hmmm like what? Still one of the more interesting stories currently being written. I hope we will read more Harry appearing but being put in his place for sure. The scene's where he blew down the back door was priceless.

My condolences on your loss, Grandfather's are very special and I am very grateful for the time I had with mine. I hope you reach the point where you are able to enjoy the memories without pain soon. That said, thank you for the new chapter. I am always surprised and delighted with how the story goes. It is just predictable enough to be "real" and never so predictable as to be boring. By the "real" I mean that the characters are developed, don't act in inconsistent ways and yet are human enough to be surprising and interesting. Thank you.
